Great reaction and outstanding deep analysis of the finale and series. Thank you Derek for being awesome! My interpretation of Oz stealing Vic's money was to throw off the detectives during investigation. Police may more likely come to the conclusion theft was the motive for murder. Also, Victor's ID card floating on the water reminded me of his entire family drowned in the flood at the start. Also the same fate of Oz's own brothers. That foreshadowing speech in the bathroom earlier in the season. Oz telling Vic he would die a nobody. By taking out Vic's ID, the kid literally becomes the unidentifiable nobody with no family member to identify his corpse, nor to mourn his death. At the end of the day, in the psychopathic POV of Oz, Victor was in fact a dispensable "nobody" who were taken by the "cruel world" governed by survival (of the fittest). In Oz's mindset, Victor's "good heart" was never meant for this dark city that is Gotham. Brilliant writing.
Pretty sure Oz took the money and left the wallet to make it look like a mugging gone wrong. And he threw away the ID to make it a John Doe that no one will investigate. Eve likely gave Selena the scoop on Sofia not being The Hangman, so Selena now knows that Carmine killing their mothers is something they have in common. I'd honestly love to see what Lauren LeFranc would do in terms of a Sofia/Selena show more than a Penguin season 2. (On a side note, Oz strangling Vic makes me wonder if Oz was actually the one that carried out Carmine's orders to kill the women since he was already down there at The Iceberg and 44 Below.)
Ah, Oz - our favourite narcissistic psychopath. Terrifying, horrifying, messed up and _incredibly_ smart. They did such a good job with this show - I'm actually mildly interested in "The Batman 2", certainly wasn't before. As for Oz stripping Vic's wallet - makes it look like a robbery gone wrong, and the body can't be identified. Nothing to link back to him. Pretty sure Francis is crying because Oz is keeping her alive to _punish_ her. He was unlikely to follow through on his promise anyway, but after the revelations with Sofia there's an extra layer to that relationship - he's given her what _he_ wants, not what she does, and he _knows_ it. He's super petty. Eve - there's a few things going on there I reckon. I don't think that little cosplay scenario at the end was the first time they'd done it - Eve was smirking when Sofia was running through things he might want to hear, and I think her call on Oz's tastes being 'not that complicated' was about the mother thing. I'm not even 100% sure Oz ever slept with her (you don't _have_ to have sex with a prostitute, it's just the majority of transactions). And while she did tell Sofia where Oz was, i think (and just my head) it was literally about giving Sofia a shot at revenge. Maybe that was enough to get past her anger (she knows going up against Oz is dangerous). Add to that the fact that she separated herself from him when stuff started getting out of control, with the promise that 'you'll be on top again, and I'll be back' (paraphrasing) and as twisted as it all is, I think she stays with Oz by choice. What exactly she gets out of it, I have absolutely no idea, but it's a fascinating relationship. Such an amazing show, top to bottom. Really enjoyed watching your reactions to it 🙂
Been waiting for your reaction to this!
Thank you, Derek! 🐧 It got such stellar reviews and ratings. It would be such a lovely treat to get a second season.

Justice for Vic.
