I usually don't draw a background, but if the drawing looks too empty I draw it in later, of course it doesn't look that good. Now I have to start with the thing I don't like drawing the most, I just don't have good background ideas

Just asking if this is valid, but I sometimes draw the character first, then locate the body part of the character where it meets the ground, then from the anatomy box I drew earlier, I enlarge it to create a background frame, and I just draw the background inside the box. I think it works effectively for beginners, but as for complex perspectives drawing this method is useless lol.
