I love it. Her voice is like cold electricity, I can't explain it, but it's just so piercing.
Her "Touch me" from when she's singing 'Memory' always does that to me too.

Ah! I absolutely love her voice. I've had singers I adored before but never someone's voice I wanted to steal as much as Betty Buckley's. Her control is absolutely freaking amazing.
Every time I listen to her singing this, it makes me realise just how far I have yet to go since my performance in this show at my high school. It is very inspiring though. :)

That you for exposing me to awesome broadway songs that i TOTALLY would NEVER have listened to. You should do some kind of segment like great songs you've probably never heard, i dont know.

It was called "Don't Quit While You're Ahead." The video is here on youtube somewhere. Always loved that they made a video of it. Quite humorous, whereas the "murder victim" in the video is none other than Rupert Holmes, the composer of Edwin Drood. Sadly, George Rose was murdered shortly after that was filmed if I recall.

In case you're curious as to what my own personal circle of hell is, it's having this video cut out at 4:45...which is currently happening to me.

What song from Drood was in heavy rotation on VH-1 back in the 1980s? Seemed like they played it once an hour.

Who is this Rupert Holmes? Writer of pop songs like "Escape" by day and writer of this amazing, sophisticated song by night. Does he have a split personality or what this is just incredible music. Sadly the singer in this production, George Rose, was savagely tortured and murdered in the Dominican Republic

Who would've thunk the step mom from 8 is Enough could sing like that. LOL Thanks for the video.

She did sing once on the show in an episode titled "Who's on First." You can find it on Dailymotion.com.

You apparently dont know Betty played on Broadway 8 years prior to EIE and sang a glorious rendition of "He Plays The Violin" in the show "1776." Already a great voice and actor by the time she was cast as "Abby" Bradford.

FineGuyUK: YOU'RE depressed? I was supposed to meet Betty after her last show at Six Flags but didn't go for reasons I can't say here. Took six months to set it up, then I blew it. She was only 17. I was too ashamed of myself to try again. That night remains the biggest regret of my life to this day, the top thing I wish I could do over.
I don't remember who set us up by I remember asking, "She's seen me and still wants to go out?" Wasn't too self-confident, I guess. :)

How nice it would have been to her her voice without his constant ranting messing up the audio!

It’s very easy to hear her without ranting. The song is available on CD and on Spotify. If you want to hear my ranting, you can go to her social media accounts where she has posted the video of me ranting about her. It’s so great to have options!
