This kind of thing happened in my family when my first grandchild was born. Four people, three of them engineers, struggled to assemble an ikea crib, then it had to go upstairs and into another room. Good times!
Yes, I do need the instructions to that washing machine, I don't care that we sold it over 10 years ago! What if we get another one and it doesn't come with the instructions?!
This is too real! As a woodworker, I’m able to build one of these faster than I can assemble this. It’s the equivalent of a guitar player not being able to play the song on Guitar Hero level medium. Love the video, bro!
My Dad was a quiet man who rarely pulled pranks. When a car had some issue with the engine, instead of taking it to the shop he figured he could fix it with the help of Chiltons. Six months later he finally had it repaired. He had kept all the broken and worn out parts he'd replaced in a cardboard box. When he was showing Mom the car was up and running right again, he put the box in the backseat. "What's that?" "Oh, that's the stuff I couldn't figure out where it went so I figured I'd just keep it in the car for you so if it breaks again, you can just show the mechanic the box and maybe he can figure out what is wrong." Mom's face was priceless. 😂😂
I put everything together since my husband will lose his mind doing it. Even the trashcan liner that's a bit snug. I put our sons crib together without any help. Girl power! Can totally relate to this. LOL!
As a guy who build furniture like this for a living I can say this is accurate building in the store, but add a couple more steps in between. Turn a screw help a customer, turn a screw help a customer. After 8 hrs it's finally built if it was a complex build. Display and secure it, and a few days later the district manager tells you to move it to the other side of dept and next week tells you to move it back. If your unlucky enough someone would sell said display and you have to do it all over again. Believe me it does not get easier because you had it built once before and you have to do it again.
My husband and I just watched this and my husband reacted to this like someone watching a football game! A lot of “oh nos, yup that’ll happens, aww I hate thats, and yes that’s it!” Lol
They should make simpler furniture kits that require a drill to assemble. Symmetric pieces, 1 or 2 kinds of hardware only. Just put it together and drive the screws in simple.
No word of a lie, my nephew took his crib apart when he was 18 mos old. His Mum went to get him up one morning , found him holding a screwdriver and sitting on parts of his crib.
Got my crib at Walmart for like $80 15 years ago. Was super simple to put together. Really didn't need instructions. Now they have some really nice pack n play type cribs. I would've probably used one of those if they'd been nicer at that time. No assembly really needed. Just unfold it.
Hey guys! Love the videos! I received my t-shirt today! Love it! Great color, fit and quality. As funny as this sounds.....it smells good too! Keep up the awesomeness! 🥰
I had a client hire me to build ALOT OF IKEA FURNITURE. IMMEDIATELY bought a Allen key drill bit set. Set drill to 7 torque best 13 dollars ever spent.
Okay I notice a problem. Not following instructions and use a microscope how to orient the nanometre-scale drawn hole orientations on the objectively similar pieces. Only after the tenth time your wife points out that there are actually different hole patterns you start to see it (sometimes). Its like the blue or gold dress.
Can totally relate to this ! I built my daughters play kitchen from ikea and when it came time for my husband to move it to my daughter's room he was Like "Why is it so flimsy?" And "where are the rest of the screws?" I gave him a baggie of the rest of the screws and he started to laugh!! 😆
Ah, yes, I see what you did wrong here. You see building Ikea furniture as construction. Whilst in reality it is actually adult LEGO. You don't throw away the instructions on a LEGO set, do you? Of course not.
Bought a bike-in-a-box for my eldest for Christmas last year. Followed the instructions, got it upright, and looked at it. Something's wrong. I'd put the handlebars on backwards and upsidedown.
I agree. My husband and I love putting together IKEA furniture, and we always follow the instructions. It really does make it so much easier and seamless to do.
LOL if there was no mention of her headache here...I'm certain you actually have one. Neighboor, hopefully he will return the hose, not until its frozen I bet. Loved this one keep it up.
Yeah like I get he's doing a bit but Ikea is the gold standard of easy-to-assemble cheap-but-still-decent furniture. You ever tried to put together a kitchen hutch from Christmas Tree Shops? I still get flashbacks about that. *shudders*
on those little allen wrenches... they little side can be cut off or grinded off then the long side fits in an impact drill.... strip out everything... boom!
Taylor, never throw away the pictorial instructions. I guess that's a thing with men? Anytime I have to build an IKEA piece with my sweetie, I'm always telling him, "dude, wait, look at the pictures. Says a thousand words. And keeps me from yelling at you." Hope the crib works well for your family!
Ikea furniture is actually easy. Step 1) Carefully open the box making sure not to accidentally scratch anything with an exacto knife by accident. 2) Carefully lay out all the pieces, making sure not to loose any of the screws, and if you are prudent, count all the screws to make sure you have them all, but I don't find that last part necessary. 3) Correctly identify which screws belong to which label/letter, keeping in mind that the screw head, thread, and length can all vary, and are all important. 4) Clear out enough room to properly assemble the thing, and put it in place, without scratching it or knocking anything down. 5) Build it in peace, and harmony. Using the instructions of course. Strength in building furniture comes first in having the Humility, and Intelligence, to use, and understand, the directions. Critically making sure all the holes line up, and make sure your piece is oriented the correct direction. It comes second in being able to put something together without instructions, but only if they are not available.
My stages are yelling curse words - vowing to invade Sweden - walking away for three hours - then finishing it when the wife yells to get it out of the living room.....
My son graduated from UT Austin. Every year before summer break, when all the students move out of their apartments, I would drive around and see the corpses of dead Ikea furniture littering the outside around every trash receptacle in town.
Your channel has not been put on my feed at all in quite a while, I'm not going to lie, I totally forgot to keep watching your videos because they weren't showing up on my RUclips feed.
Okay, the neighbor husband interaction has to be a staple in every vid now.
@@jeniedwards5999 mine too

I mean Wilson the new Wilson
It reminded me of that show back in the day Home Improvement. When Tim Allen talk to mr. Wilson over the fence
agreed so perfect.
That "talking to the neighbor over the fence" segment gave me definite Home Improvement with Tim Allen vibes
Right? Except Wilson was wise 😆
I think we are showing our age. 😂🤣
Hidey Ho Tim!
Watering the pepper plants while wife's organizing, LOL!! That's the cherry on an already hilarious vid!!
This kind of thing happened in my family when my first grandchild was born. Four people, three of them engineers, struggled to assemble an ikea crib, then it had to go upstairs and into another room. Good times!
I'm sure the engineers didn't look at the directions, either. "I don't care what the directions say, this part HAS to go first"...
Yeah my husband’s the opposite. He never throws away the instructions. Like things are built but he keeps the instructions forever and ever.
Yes, I do need the instructions to that washing machine, I don't care that we sold it over 10 years ago! What if we get another one and it doesn't come with the instructions?!
Mine is the same. And if we sell it, he makes sure to give the instructions with ❤️
Don’t forget the box anything comes in as well
My husband is both these things. Doesn't look at instructions but keeps it for an eternity 😂
You need em on the damn cribs to put the toddler bar on in 2 yrs
I modified an allen wrench so it fits into a drill. Best 30 minutes I’ve ever spent.
They make those just fyi. Called hex bits. You know just in case you ever need a different size.

Love how in all of the building ones they throw away the instructions and then end up needing them
I mean… I just needed them a little though…

Thank you for all the laughs! Recently discovered your videos on Facebook and I so appreciate them!🤗 God bless you and your family 🧡
That was a great conversation with the neighbor! I love it!

Same here and I definitely go through these stages! 😂
Same, although I read the directions and usually don't have to take anything apart because I did it right the first time time! 😅
My husband just takes too long to get to it. I’ll be asking him every day for 2 weeks before he actually does it 😒
Same. It's much quicker to go step by step myself than to rescue my hubby from circling through two steps forward and three steps back, repeatedly!
I assemble IKEA too and love it!
.... unless when the parts don't really fit or something is missing or broken...
“Wanna move to Mexico?”
“...Yep!”
I love the neighbor. Should have more of him in the videos.

They make those. They even make fully-assembled furniture. It's just more expensive and more difficult to get home.
Buy the Allen wrench adapter/bit for $5 at the hardware store. Most of their stuff uses the same size wrench anyway.
DJ in as many videos as possible moving forward, please 👍so funny when Taylor teams up with him onscreen.

When putting together ikea furniture the most important thing-follow instruction, second- you cant do it alone :D been there, done that 🤣

After assembling many a piece from IKEA , I've come to the conclusion that all their engineers are left handed.
My son graduated from UT Austin. Every year before summer break, when all the students move out of their apartments, I would drive around and see the corpses of dead Ikea furniture littering the outside around every trash receptacle in town.
I get flak for always reading the instructions but I get it together without any problems and quickly.
