Ah yes. Drinking beers while doing projects. I commented on your community post, about which summer project I did. I did my kitchen. While I was drinking beers on Father’s Day, nailing in the hardwood floor, I gave myself a doozy! I was on my knees, setting in my next board with my hammer n block, and I MISSED my block and NAILED my finger with the pick end of the flooring hammer!!! Yeah… Father’s Day… late afternoon… bout… 6 beers in…. Blood was flowing pretty darn good!!! That’s when I said, “ Ok. Time to call it quits “ Love you guys, Taylor n Heidi! My wife n 3 kids are all big fans!!!
Aw, you look sooo worn out at the end there. I’ve been there while finishing my whole basement from studs and concrete with my husband. I really admire your perseverance, though I’m sure your love for your family and needing to get the video out were some powerful motivators. Revel in your well-earned sense of satisfaction. And don’t forget the cabinet door hardware….👍
Absolutely love what you did with the basement, your kitchen and all your other projects that you do. You and Heidi make stressful homeowner things look like so much fun. Heads up on your storage couch. I had one and it worked great until the lower frame for the pullout bed broke and had to Jerry rig it back together to get it to fold back down correctly. It will be great for the kids, but not great for 'you wanna....' if you catch my drift 😉 Cheers to you, your family, and all good things going forward. Your videos are always a pick me up.
End bit is hilarious! Wonderful job, as is the rest of your home :) and I so love that you two include the kids to whatever degree they want to help. My sisters and I have loads of wonderful memories doing different home improvement projects with our parents. The older we got, the more complex tasks and we carried those foundational skills into adulthood and are now doing the same with our own kids 😁😁😁
Well done! I am impressed. I can't draw or cut a straight line, no matter what tools are used. So anyone that can do what was done here, you have my deepest respect and awe!
I enjoy watching you guys doing thing together as a family. Family chores and activities are crucial to connecting and teaching core family values. Go team Dude Dad!
Great job! What an awesome example for your family to make mistakes, but continue to work hard and do it right. It looks easy in a 15 minute video, but I know for a fact that was a ton of work: blood, sweat, tears and a whole lotta love!
I like the long videos. More please! The basement gets amazing light too. Such a comfy and inviting space for the family, and I love the kids quite nook ♥️!
Looks good, did a job similar like this for a client, by the time I was done we had 7 different styles of trim... Yeah she went crazy at the trim supply house 😂😂
@@johannaholmgren8088 oh man same here haha! When my husband starts on a project our daughter says oh no dads working on something we better leave the room!! He has some choice language. 🤦♀️
We put a stupid metal shed together 35 years ago and thought we’d end up divorced over that incident! But here we are going on 42 years! I don’t expect any such problem for these two!! Great job!!
@@TSITTEL13 We are coming to to our 34th year, and are still together in spite of renovation projects. Lol. We renovated a basement suite a few years back. Oh man. The suite turned out gorgeous but lots of blue air and tears before we finished! And every project we were sure would be the end of us,haha!! (Actually, one year, on our street, 3 couples renovated their houses, and then ended up divorced!! And they had been together a long time. My husband and I were pretty nervous that year. We have a laundry room reno coming up....fingers crossed, lol )
Beautiful area that is sure to be used and enjoyed. Good team work and lots of lessons learned...that's a huge part of life....learning! Love your humor as always. Blessings to you and your little ones. Thanks for sharing! Your channel is one of my most favorites. When my husband hears me laughing, he says he knows I am watching Dude Dad!!!!
I love this channel and this family! I like you are showing a real family experience with real family values in a world that lets schools do the educating, tv do the entertainment, etc. Your love for your kids is endearing as is your love for each other. I just love it all.
Quality stuff! Reminds me of my construction days. I'll have to go check out your other remodel vids! I decided after I saw how frickin RAD that radial arm saw is! Such a sweet unit!
I just so LOVE and enjoy your videos 🤩😁😍 I found you through the Holderness family and so glad I did, I love watching all you do and get up to with your beautiful family . Thank you for sharing them with us, look forward to more 🙏🏻🥰😍🥰😍🙏🏻
So excited to watch this! I love you guys. My partner and I just had our first child. Her name is Darcy. He and I both are absolutely obsessed with the dude dad diaper bag, it suits both our styles and personalities super well. We also seriously enjoyed your book, Dudes Guide to Baby Size. I just passed it along to my brother and sister in law as they prepare to start their family. Your videos have been such a joy and help to watch as I become a new mom. SILVERETTES! THANK YOU FOR THESE! But seriously we love your videos and it has been a blessing to watch them along side raising our new baby! Thank you ❤️
What to go Heidi, I love it you go girl, this is so awesome, you both rock, and this inspires me. Blessings!!🙏🏽 Build that Ark, Taylor😂🤣😂🤣, stay away from IPA, when wood working, noted. Great tips, man you really do get it all here!!
Gosh I'm building anything like that and I've done it... It cost me $60,000 to furnish my basement.. But my gosh it was stunning... What a sense of accomplishment...
These reno videos are actually making me look forward to owning to a house hopefully in the next few years. So thank you for giving me something to look forward to (even though I know if my husband and I did this it wouldn't turn out half as good).
The last time I touched my basement it still isn't finished. Been working on it since February, on the weekends so.. . We just got the floors done. Time for trim. Whoooh! I added shelves btw and a lots of em. Plus a TV wall with a fireplace and bookcases on each side. Yah. I built a movie theater.

Thanks for leaving the mistake in. It lets people know that everyone makes mistakes. It looks great!

"hey Tay, when are you going to finish the stairs?" I was thinking the same thing before Heidi asked.
You guys are so adorable ❤️
Thanks for showing how a happy, healthy married and family can look like

With everything that looks amazing, I'm blown away with the pvc pipe for the cables. Ugh why did I think of that.

What a nice space you have created for your family! Love it!
Some blue painters tape on the plywood before you drill out the holes reduces tearout by a ton. Looks good
