Gd topic which overlaps with the topic of why we procrastinate or do nothing: it could be a strategy of being efficient 😅 or it maybe -- sadly -- a trauma response. 😢
Yes, that's true. To some extent it has to do with procrastination. I'm not really a life coach or a personal development coach, though. I'm trying to help people find more meaning at work and in life in general. I actually wanted to talk about this topic because when we take smaller steps towards our dreams we might just find that life is more meaningful that way. Big dreams can be helpful to motivate us but they're not the be all and end all. There's just so much more to it. What do you mean by trauma response?
@@David_Mossmann trauma response is a reaction to a loss/trauma. It may take any form, including exhaustion, sadness, confusion. So there is this idea in clinical science that if someone doesn't seem to be able to get anything done, it may not be that he/she is lazy or lacking in willpower but that he/she is experiencing unresolved grief.
Oh I see. Yes, of course sometimes trauma and grief can stop us from moving forward as well. That's true. If a person is suffering from trauma then they need professional help, I think.
