Not only did they manage to avoid the pitfalls of other reboots (that take away what made the originals special or ruin it with corporate and/or social greed), they managed to add onto it with interesting yet natural concepts. Also monke brain like cool fights.
The best thing is, Prey has a Comanche version It's hidden in the Extras section Though you do have to search for the objectively better version of the film
Also loved this movie. Especially the historically relatively accurate portrayal of the Comanche, and of course the excellent performance of Amber Midthunder as a believable, identifiable (and beautiful) protagonist. As far as setup goes, I'd say the setup goes as far back as the original Predator movie. In the original movie there is a Spanish speaking local woman that mentions at some point in that movie that people in her village would talk of a legend where the strongest hunters would get hunted on in the warmest summers. We now see that indeed the predators have in deed been visiting Earth since hundreds of years. A large part of Prey gives quite a lot of winks or semi-references to the original Predator movie. And then finally you see her receive the old revolver, which I believe is a direct reference to Predator 2, where the predator also gives a (the same?) revolver to that film's protagonist after defeating that Predator. Any way, thanks for making this. Keep up the good work and can't wait to see the FFX video!
Not a fan of the original Predator movies? But your computer background is of the infamous "Dylaaaan! son of a b1tch!" Scene featuring the veiny oiled up biceps of Carl Weathers and Arnold S.
Amazing video !! I loved this movie so much. It's not perfect, but is anything in the end? it has heart and a wonderful story. And some amazing actors!
Huh. I really disliked this movie, and this video hasn't changed that, but you have a very pleasant way of presenting yourself and expressing positivity. Rock on, dude. New sub acquired.
I gotta say I think the final fight is great right until the end when she uses the predators helmet gun against it which means that predator, who has been trained from birth to hunt and use his tech, completely forgot how his weapon worked which is quite dumb
The final fight was the worst part of the movie. I enjoyed the very much, but they turned her into spiderman at the end flying off of trees and dodging every attack with spider sense
Successful persons take the Seagull’s money and don’t squawk questions.
Honestly that amazing argument you make at 8:05 makes the seagull nosiness seem trivial.
🤣

I just watched Prey, seriously, with my family, and I got to say ITS SOILD. The way in the end credits it forshadows a sequel is just smooth.

Wow. That is all super interesting! It has been so long since I watched the Predator movies. Perhaps they're due for a rewatch 🤔
@@Meromorphic Definitely! You might even appreciate them better this time around when you notice the references. 😄
Dont forget about arnold's quote, "If it bleeds... we can kill it."

with the amount of work and quality that goes in these videos it's insane that you don't have more subs. keep up the great work.

Glad we can amicably agree to disagree. Different strokes and all. Thanks!
Not my kind of movie, but all about female sheroes!
cringe

I don't think the predator saw her hide the mask in position before the fight, but I could be missing something.
The final fight was the worst part of the movie.

Yeah, I couldn't agree more.
Serious Mulan syndrome here, just becoming a fucking super hero because it's "epic".
