I've been doing a 3 minute cold shower daily since last July. The year before I was ill a lot including 12 nights in hospital with flu. Since doing cold showers I very rarely get ill. They've been a game changer for me and helped with low mood enormously.
Great advice Liz, thanks for your honesty. 😊

I’m not quite there with the cold showers but I always splash my face with cold water in the mornings, really wakes me up!
And good point about how we want to spend the 2nd half of our lives. I’m just starting Early years training in a nursery because I want to care for young children and babies, they are the magic in our lives! I’m 45 and learning something new is absolutely terrifying but I’m putting myself out there and I’m loving it! Great for my teenagers to see there is still life in old mum yet as well! Btw, just received your book!🤩

I'm on hrt and have been for about two and a half years. I'm also now on anti- depressants after having 3 weeks off at the beginning of the year with depression. I think the only thing that hrt has helped with are the hot flushes. I ache all over I'm still a complete nightmare before my periods and suffer with them every month. Fed up with it all!
I feel like I'm a burden whenever I go back to the doctors.
You talk so much sense Liz, thank you. X

Glad you found this helpful. It can take some women a little while to find the right HRT dosage for them, so do persist and speak to your doctor if you have any concerns. Thanks, Rachel (social media manager) ❤️

Love all your chats Liz ,thank you for touching on this subject because i feel the same way as zoe ,i feel like i have become so uninterested in going anywhere or doing anything ,even as you said liz i have questioned my driving on occasions ,
Nothing seems to fulfill me ,and i had no idea why ,i thought like zoe ,it was because of covid ,had no idea it could be loss of estrogen ,i dont take HRT im 64 and my doctor never spoke with me about it ,other than all the scare stories .
Can you get your estrogen levels by foods, etc ,i am on a low carb diet ,have been for 5 years now ,it works in so many ways
I dont feel depressed ,just flat ,as you put it .
I cant even be bothered to travel and i use to love it x

Lorraine, you are not too old for hrt at 64, do speak to your G.P.

Hi Lorraine - sorry to hear that you're feeling flat right now but also glad to hear that you're finding some tweaks are working for you! Feeling this way can be common in midlife, just as Zoe shares here. So do speak to your GP in regards to HRT as it's not necessarily too late to start HRT ❤️ Thanks, Rachel (social media manager)

Can relate to the content here - and agree Liz re antidepressants which I ,ike many women have been pushed into by my GP for menopause symptoms. I could not take more than 1 tablet due to the extreme effect it had on me. Eventually saw a private hormone dr and now on HRT that seems to work for me.

God help our mothers and grandmothers. They must have lived very miserable lives before the dawn of every menopausal woman going on HRT!

My dr was flogging me off with antidepressant s , they made me worse and made me feel like a zombie, I'm hrt but don't feel any different, I'm not sure if I'm absorbing the gel as before I wasn't absorbing the ❤patches 😢
