This is the way it should have stayed. It's a shame things went off the rails like it did. I don't hold anything against Phil or anyone else for what happened. I think if that POS wouldn't have shot dime, they would have eventually reconciled
Most of it was true. Remember in the end pantera Phil was into heavy drug and was over being in a huge metal band. That was the purpose of super joint he could play small places agian.
i love when vinnie comes on stage with a drink for phil and he's so happy to see him and they hug... i wish vince would bury the hatchet because i believe there's still so much love that it's a shame they're not talking to each other
HOLY FUCK! The sound on that is amazing for something recorded in that era…..I’ve lived in the DMV for 75% of my life ( born in DC in 71) & at times it’s been a love/hate relationship 😉1 thing I’ve always been grateful for & that’s been having a place called the 9:30 club never more than a 45 minute drive from where I lived….I saw Down there in 2002,mind you I’ve seen a lot of shows & that shit was more like a party than a show….I’m dead serious,it was amazing 🖤🤤y’all be safe
i've seen DOWN 4 times in Portland,OR starting 2002 DOWN II record big outdoor fest, they played Roseland Theater with Melvins that was a killer fucking show. i wish could have seen early days show. saw Pantera 6 times & backstage, 4 DOWN, & 2 SuperJoint Ritual shows, my very first show in 1994 Pantera/Sepultura Vulgar/Chaos tour i was 14 years old still 1 of the best shows
I don’t know about that. Don’t get me wrong Down is heavy but I definitely would not say heavier than Pantera. Give I’ll Cast a Shadow a listen. I would have to say that’s one of their heaviest songs. Prepare to break your neck.
I like to think of Pantera as the fire and Down as the Smoke.
Bury me in SMOKE
Nice
My brother. YES
that’s perfect . rip dime bag.
Wow what an empty thought 🤣
Vinne hugging Phil is super emotional now...
Look at how much love Phil had for Vince and Dime. They came to support Down. I dont believe alot of the bullshit the media spews about Phil

Phil's voice was amazing wish he could still do this.
He can
watch the recent down streams , hes still got it
Right before they recorded Trendkill. Sweet. Also judging by Vinnie's attitude, this is right before the downward spiral started.
No pun???
@@jimquinn2942most definitely
This year was the peak of Phil's live performances. He was spot on every song every show
He transcended godhood. Who can even get a crowd going like that anymore? Who?! Nobody. He's a legend
This is one of my favorite songs ever. It's metal AF but it still has harmony, and most importantly... soul!
Love how Phil headbangs so hard with the beer in his hand and doesn’t spill a drop
Yeah I'm surprised he didnt dislocate his spine here with how hard he was headbanging
i was admiring that as well. Very Julian-esque
It’s a blacktooth grin but yeah, dope
This shit is timeless.
Best Phil live ever recorded I think.
0:53 Dude caught some fucking air! God damn these guys rock, the power of the riff compels me!
I I missed it the first time around till I ran into your comment and I went back and looked at it but man that dude
Got tossed hard-
Vinnie Paul being cool as fuck going on stage to give Phil a hug and a black tooth grin. When that guy loved you he really loved you.

Strange was a cool presence on stage! I miss the originals.
Wish we could hear him better on the album
@@basharatisaev1967 he didn't play on the album. Kirk recorded the bass on NOLA
@@Lynchpin2010 interesting.
It was phil's idea to get him in the band beacuse of his size
philip anselmo is the Best metal musician of all ages
I saw them in Austin & it was simply the most rowdy pit & crowd I've ever seen. Dare I say moreso than even Pantera

I love both down and pantera...but Pantera is heavier....go listen to great southern trendkill full album
Nah, Pantera was definitely heavier - but there’s something about the “slow and heavy” nature of DOWN that makes said heaviness special.
@@ImmortanDan agreed
The band that looked like an LA punk rock gang but sounded like a southern powerhouse.
Is that vinnies drum set? Sure sounds look it
Pepper was so wasted here hahaha
what went wrong between them
Killer
Phil having a conversation with Vinnie Paul and he comes on stage to bring him a black toooooth
are you sure?
RAre
Ah yes, Phil's Jamie Walters phase.
when they were bros =/
dime an vinnie were insecure of down. its what happens when your parents pay for everything
They loved DOWN, they jist didn't like Phil turning into a junkie and turning his back on PanterA
@@RetroHabit82 they were insecure cause mommy an daddy cradled them.
phil keeping it real lol
Bought Nola at camelot music in 95 still as good as it was back then f em all the south will rise again
