Very inspiring video, that is not only applicable in esports, but literally in anything you do, whether it is in your career, academic, or even personal achievements.
Love the little sidebar into how daigo took it to the extreme on the end there. That man is indeed the extreme outliner together with Flash they really sought greatness
With hundreds of similar articles around and the amount Thorin reads I cannot be sure, but the way he phrased things, he might refer to a quote found in a popular 2012 Kotaku piece ("Let the World's Best Street Fighter Player Teach You about...Life"): "True strength is achieved when you can read your opponent, but defeat them without exploiting their weaknesses." Daigo's entire competitive philosophy is laid out in his book "The Will to Keep Winning" (2016).
I'd love to hear you weigh in a little more on fighting games. I know you don't follow them much, but the players and storylines are every bit as incredible as other more mainstream eSports games. Well worth the research!
I think that a video about the incredible korean tactics from earlier 1.6 teams like wemadefox compared to nowadays would be interesting. Not sure how much content it would provide but I always found their gameplay fascinating.
thooorin's videos like this, Are also infinite, you know. True and real forever, even when we've all forgotten what went on in the pro scene during the year of recording, so
I think OWL has an interesting case of this. London won but most fans will say it was a kinda fluky performance coming from a weird playoff's. Meanwhile NY won the regular season but not the playoffs, so their dominant performance ultimately was a failure. We all have different standards for greatness and success for different teams and individuals and they don't always make sense an can be unfair. It's a difficult world to navigate.
These are my favorite kinds of Thorin videos. Very inspiring to me personally.
Yes I really hope it becomes more common in this channel or the second one. It fuels me like fire.
