remember when everyone told you not to run 50mm spacers because its stupid..... ya. its because it fucking stupid.
I mean, you COULD just buy wheels with the correct offset to be flush with the fenders. You can afford a GTR, 350, and a BRZ, and rent on a warehouse.... surely you could build some decent wheels and do things the right way? Spacers aren't made to be used like that. Sell them to someone you want dead and buy a decent set of wheels, because if those spacers fail on the highway you'll keep moving but it'll be any direction but forward.

The lug nuts are only designed or should only be designed to stay tight in use, and hold the wheel on to the vehicle. The whole point of the hub having a raised center section is to center the wheel and take the force and weight of the vehicle as it is being used. With a gap in the center between the wheel and hub only the hub bolts are taking the load and they are not designed for that sort of force.

Never use wheel spacers on a driven vehicle (okay for show vehicles that don't drive). Always use a wheel with a more aggressive negative offset. The hub actually supports the weight of the vehicle while the lug nuts only secure the wheel to the hub. If there is space between the hub and the wheel you have the potential for failure.
I run 2" on my Silverado, and i know people with 3" on theirs. The key is getting quality spacers.

i'm running ebay 38mm and 36mm adpaters currently on my car and they've been fine this entire time. heck, i've been running ebay adapters for the past 7 years on a variety of different cars.
the most important thing you need to make sure when ordering is that you get them hubcentric for your car otherwise your wheels won't be correctly centered and that results in vibrations and in worse case scenarios, your wheels can actually fall off on the highway from your wheel studs breaking off.
Wheel studs can break off if your adapters aren't hubcentric because you're basically using your lug nuts to center them so all the weight is being put on the wheel studs whereas hubcentric adapters allow the wheel to sit on the hub perfectly so it alleviates stress on the adapter and on the studs itself. so imagine stress on the adapter, studs, and then vibrations: that is a big no-no. second thing is.. make sure you torque your adapters down to the correct spec. i always have mine torqued at 80 ft. lb. hope that helps..

VICTOR Rippe hubcentric means that the adapter/spacer sits perfectly on your hub. You need to find an adapter/spacer that has the same hub bore size as your original hub. Check the forums/google to find out which hub bore size is for your car

That's a good point, unfortunately people are extremely lazy and they want to cut corners and do everything quick to achieve a certain look to make their car look cool. In the end buying spacers for 17x7 wheels to fit 50 mil overfenders is stupid. If you have the money you should just buy the right fitting wheels and stop accepting your homie hookups for bunk ass sized wheels and being content with "being about the look." ive used electrical tape around a hubcentric ring as a temp fix to get the correct bore size needed to center the wheel. Probably too late now for you but just a heads up. Just wrap it till its the size you need.

I am not ruling out that the spacers are messed up, trying to give some advice from experience. The spacers you have on the 350 may or may not be designed specifically for the 350z hub. According to what I have researched about the 350z hub is that the 350 has a 66.1mm hub diameter and if you got a spacer set that has a hub bore greater than that, that could be your issue. Also the "hub" on the end of the spacer may not be the same diameter as the hub bore for even the stock wheels, it may be smaller. To fix the issue of the gap you need to get hubcentric rings that fill it in. For example my car has a hub diameter of 57.1mm and my wheels have a hub bore of 66.1mm therefore meaning I have to get rings that adapt a 66.1 bore wheel to a 57.1 hub. So it is very likely that you unknowingly bought the wrong size bore diameter spacers or that the "hub" on the end of the spacers is too small even for the stock wheels.

I dont think you understand how wide 14 inch tires are (Hint: They are very, VERY wide). Some states require the tread of the tire to fit under the fenders. That means if a tire is too wide to fit under the fenders, then the state deems it illegal/unsafe, making the tire itself illegal to be driven on the roads. I can assure you that you havent seen a Jeep running 14 in tires because 305's are the most common super wide tires that are used and that only converts to a little over 12 inches.

not too sure about the specs but looking and guessing off of the kit i would be removing the spacers and getting the right size wheels by getting18x12 in the rear and 18x11 in the front. Offsets of -60r and -48f. then slap some meat on the wheels, adjust the camber and it should fix your wobbling.

TJ! When you buy wheel spacers you need to get the once with the hub Center ring in the Center of the spacer! When I bought 2" spacers for my truck for my 14 wides to make it have more stance I bought the wrong once with out them and it was aweful! All you need to do is get the once with the ring in the Center of spacer that fits the hub of the wheel. Make the world of difference! Hope that helps
The reason for that is so the wheel still doesn't move to the slightest mm cuz that can cause vibration or make it look like your wheels are not balanced.

I run -15 camber in the rear on my genesis and just wanted to tell you that you should recheck your alignment. I've had the same shake on my steering wheel before and always seemed to be the alignment. I'm also running 13.5 wide wheels in the rear. So usually my alignment is what fixes the issue. Some times even though they align the car right things seem to loosen up a bit. Another thing is the front tires might be feathering due to the camber and is that shake your feeling. Def might wanna check both those things. Just my opinion.

I just added spacers to my mazdaspeed3. I had horrible wheel shaking and i was told to cut the studs. the studs should NOT be longer than the spacers. If it is, cut em off a little bit and put em back on. Goodluck!

tj to get rid of the airbag light turn your car off, turn the key to aux, wait for it to beep 4 times, then turn the key off. do this 4 times then start your car. its a common problem on the 350z and the g35. hopefully this helps.

I say it's either those spacers or it could be the inner tie rods going bad. I know my steering wheel started to shake at that speed because they were getting worn out. So if you get the correct hub centric for the spacer and it still shakes then it's the inner tie rods of your steering rack

If you gonna use spacers, please buy some that is hub-centric for your specific car, aswell as have a center that that preferably is the same size as your car. that way you get your spacers centered to your hub (like a wheel normally does) and then your wheel centered on the hub.

Def check the alignment again since you did raise the car after you just had the alignment done. When I raised my car I had to get the alignment done again cause that effects the camber and all the geometry of the suspension anytime you touch the suspension. Yeah def check the wheel balance as well, doesn't hurt just to be safe.

If you run spacers check if HubCentric or not - little lip fits in the centre of hub to ensure alignment.
And running wider tires is kinda right
But the main thing to push wheels out is offset!
Offset is how far in or out, the face of the bolts are in comparison to the centre line of the tire width.
Hard to explain without a diagram, but if you look at a wheel head on as if it were rolling towards you, with the tire having a center line. The offset is where the face of the wheel, which goes against the hub is in relation to that

TJ!!! I've scrolled through so many comments and I can't believe no one has pointed it out to you. In the first video where you and Calvin first fitted the spacers I cringed and noticed it then but didn't comment. YOU NEED SPIGOT RINGS. the spacers see most likely fine it's just you need spigot rings as the centre bore on your hub is different to the centre bore on the spacers. So you need a certain size Spigot Ring to get rid of the wobble and so that the spacers sit tight on the hub. Notice how the spacer moved around on the hub when first fitting? Calvin said that the recess' in the spacer holes would align the spacer when tightening the bolts but it doesn't work quite like that. These recess' stop the spacer from pulling off basically, same as the holes on alloy wheels. Just pulls the bolts tight.
You need a certain size spigot ring to remove the wobble issue and you can pick these up very easily and super cheap.
You might need spigot rings for both wheel hub and spacer hub.

This is exactly what I said would happen in the last video, get the wheels that fit the car proper. If you still want to be cheap with it, get wheel spacers custom made with the correct hub bore .
If I was you, you invest on some wider wheels cause spacers that big could be a little dangerous...
I even commented on the previous video saying that thick spacers like that aren't safe. You have to buy hub centric spacers made out of aircraft aluminum and proper wheel specs with built suspension links/knuckles for a widebody.

i work at a tire shop and we have done this before just get the wheel balanced again but with the spacer on the wheel it works mint :)

The spacers are not the issue... the 50mm vs 40mm hub center is the issue. The aftermarket wheels use a 50mm center the 350 has a 40mm hub... that is the issue.

Off-roaders call it the "death wobble" and it happens when they put big tires on their trucks but what's happening is the wheel has more leverage than the steering so in your case with the longer arms and spacers your pushing the wheels farther from the center of gravity

It's not just the spacers, if your wheels are unbalanced you will experience wheel shaking at speeds above 60mph. I've had first hand experience with this with 25mm spacers, so an inch, and fixed the problem with a wheel balance.

The spacers (particularly large ones, like the 50's you have) put extreme pressure on the wheel bearings. This can cause some death wobble. Best bet is to chunk them and buy proper offset rims. I know because i run them on one of my vehicles lol

Gotta buy hubcentric spacers where the middle ring is actually separated from the spacer, I find those work best, and then on top of that you gotta run hubcentric ring for sure, you can't run a 73.1 wheel on a 66.1 hub bore and expect no trouble...

Once you get the proper hubcentric rings, you should put the spacers on the wheels that they are paired with and get them balanced like that. Should solve your problem

youre a fucking idiot. width is the depth of the wheel, offset is where the face sits within that depth. a negative offset sits the face sunken in where ass positive sits more up front or flush. trying to act like you know anything then 3 morons agree with you. congrats.
Thewasteland I never said anything about fixing the issue. I just think its stupid to go widebody and then space the wheel out more instead of getting a wider one. And i never said anything about offset, obviously he needs to get wheels with the right offset. Why would he get ones with the wrong offset?
try running it without spacer and see if it still shake if not then its the spacer. i had spacer on my hatch and did the same thing, but when i swap back to stock and still shake. fits the problem(axles and wheel bearing) and no more shake even with spacer.
