  • What can I say about this? Probably the most difficult battle in the entire game series! It took me 2 attempts to get it right the first time! Now with my third attempt as a recording, this battle turned out to be a delicious victory!
    Felix and his party returns to Contigo after obtaining every djinni. They even managed to defeat the other super bosses who guarded one of the last four summon tablets, and now the last summon tablet, Iris, awaits within the inner walls of Anemos Sanctum. Felix and his party activates the door to its inner dungeon by placing all of their djinn spirits and power into the heart of the sanctum. The great door opens, and the exploration begins...
    Of course, every dungeon has its own puzzles and traps, so this dungeon is expected to be like the rest of the others; however, every psynergy acquired throughout the first game and the second game are required before the player wishes to move on. Quite frankly, the Lift psynergy and Sand psynergy are used throughout the entire whole half of the dungeon.
    The last room is where Dullahan awaits at the end of the room, waiting for your approach. Using the Hover psynergy, Felix and his party ride on top of a flying ancient tomb that carries across the room to Dullahan. Within moments, the battle against the strongest boss begins, and there's no turning back...
    Please note that my party composes of level 54s with the exceptions of Felix and Jenna who are level 55s. I made a slight arrangement on djinn in order to suppress Dullahan. Felix is a Ronin. Isaac is a Protector. Both Mia and Sheba are Pure Mages. Both of them will be the healers of the battle, so don't lose them! The battle is definitely worth watching!

    Finally got that bastard down without summon spam! I had my usual single type djinn classes and had Isaac spam Megiddo with unleash-chance boosting equipment, others just healing and buffing him. Took about two hours but it was worth it.

      I know I'm 4 years late but I'll share my experience. So after playing around with GSTLA editor (im kind of cheating but eh)
      I noticed, there are multiple Dullahans, same with Sentinels and Valukars, (not Star Magician though) each of them had different attack patterns of 8 abilities.
      So I only assumed once he's finished with one pattern, he moves on to the next, one of the patterns does not contain Charon, Curse, Condemn and Break. So the strategy here is, if you keep sealing him, he's forced to keep staying in that pattern. Don't let him break free from the seal otherwise, he will move to a pattern that has dangerous abilities. Just endure the first few moves. If you keep getting the same outcomes, change a few moves until you've forced him into the pattern loop.

      @BoltTheEmolga 4 месяца назад +4

      I know am also super omega late to this, but as an explanation - while Dullahan’s attack pattern is completely preset, where he starts in that pattern is random. It’s an 8-turn loop, but when Psynergy Seal ends, it returns him to where he was in that pattern instead of at the start of the whole loop. So you want to wait until the turn he does these moves before sealing him, and you can tell where you are from what the turn before was.

  • @phathomie27
    @phathomie27 11 лет назад +51

    So apparently using a djinn to seal its psynergy works 100% of the time. With dullahan's psynergy sealed, you're spared the onslaught of being cursed, avoid djinn storm, and avoid Charon. Formina Sage and True Collide are still deadly, but with skill you can overcome them. Appreciate the upload; now I'm gonna beat dullahan the proper way without summon rushing

    • @johnbuck4395
      @johnbuck4395 Год назад

      As a kid I always wondered why the battle text would say the Dullahan "uses" Charon while for the player the text would read "### summons" the spirits. And I never knew you can seal this f***er; I remember Psyenergy is "cast" but I didn't know sealing Dullahan prevents it from using Charon. Looking back I figured it mightve been just a translation error (I had the American GBA GS games) so I assumed you have to simply endure that attack.

    It's definitely the programming of the AI. There is a specific order or sequence of moves Dullahan is set to. Now if a player is controlling Dullahan, then it'll be a difficult boss to overwhelm!

      A bit late to reply, but well... in fact it depends of which pattern he begin the fight with. It can require multiple try vefore working but once he's in the right one, he'll never use it, nor Djinn Storm (He'll sort of "skip it") , making him much easier to defeat.

  • @SymphonySinger
    @SymphonySinger Месяц назад

    This is really cool! When I first played this game, I loved fighting all the bonus bosses except for Dullahan! I could not find a way to beat him except through summon-rushing, but I always felt that there had to be a better way. While I knew that djinn could always seal the Psynergy of a boss, I had no idea that Djinn Storm and Charon were considered Psynergy for him (or at least were a part of that attack pattern), so I never bothered implementing that strategy. Formina Sage (Fulminous Edge) still hits like a truck, but at least it can be managed.
    I have managed to beat him by playing strategically and perhaps being a bit lucky, but I had no idea you could save yourself such a headache by forcing his attack pattern like this! Great work!
    (By the way, love the way you preface this fight in the description. You really set the stage for the fight very well)!

      @A2ZOMG 10 дней назад

      You can't actually Psynergy Seal Djinn Storm/Sharron, more like the RNG of Golden Sun is actually one of the most easily broken in real time which is why Dullahan never bothers to move his script into picking those attacks.

I went in with as many summons as I could and tried to spam that djnn as much as possible. It's not really dullahan if he doesn't use his full set of moves.
    I found many ways to shield myself from djinn storm
    For example it doesn't affect dead character
    You can use 2 set of resist and armor up at the beginning of the fight so none of his moves can one shot you.
    Use haze to dodge djinn storm on your most important character.
    There's also the flash - shade - granite
    + Petra - ground
    Strat so he basically can't move or hurt you.
    Trying a strategy that is sure to win is kind of boring
    Trying to come back from a tight spot and surviving and beating him is way more satisfying.

    Peh. This battle is so much harder in Dark Dawn... You can't stop his summoning or his Djinn Storm (even with psynergy blocking) and he deals more damage to you. Oh yes, and not to mention that he'll use your own standby djinn to perform summons against you (such as meteor), which is avoidable, but still completely prevents summon spam. It took a 2 hour battle for me to beat that guy (level 45-50 party), and it only took me a few seconds to choose my moves.

    • @ultrafly100
      @ultrafly100 9 лет назад +13

      The opposite. Dullahan is dangerous because of Djinn Storm, Formina Sage, and Charon, none of which are Psynergy.

      ultrafly100 The seal on his psynergy here is to abuse his cycle and make him skip moves

      i never lock his psynergy. just put all your dijins at red and spam summons. can't remember which ones did the most damage, but there's couple that do a lot of damage so just spam those and keep using ply or whatever multi heal skill and i think he dies in no time. what this guy is doing is just prolonging the fight for no reason.

      6V turbo You either learn his patern and make him skip moves by locking his psynergy or using djinnis like ground, or you just summon rush him, either way this just shows how that boss is an unfair piece of garbage

      He has a set cycle. You can actually force him to skip Djinn Storm, which makes the fight long but beatable.

    I call Hax; Always got a critical hit?

    • @Number45I
      @Number45I 10 лет назад +9

      if you mean the unleashes of the weapons (Megiddo and Legend), it's not really hacks. it's really simple actually. all you have to do is have equipment that boosts your critical hit rate, such as the Hyper Boots, Warrior's Helm, and Mythril Helm.

      Ebon Flare According to the wiki, with the Riot Gloves, Valkyrie Mail, Mythril/Warrior's Helm, and Hyper Boots, Issac/Felix have a 99% chance of Unleashing Megiddo (Riot Gloves adding 20% each, and the Helm and Boots adding 12% each tl the Unleash Rate. Sol Blade has the standard 35% Unleash Rate)

      No Hax at all. With a full set of crit/unleash rate increasing equipment you can achieve a very high unleash rate

    Why are you obsessed with sealing Dullahan's psynergy? That actually makes the battle HARDER for you, because his psynergy moves are comparatively harmless to his enemy abilities like Formina Sage.

    • @farout_tech

      Dullahan's attack pattern follows a preset list. As such, my take is that by binding its psynergy it skips ahead on that list, causing it to skip the more dangerous stuff like Djinn Storm and Charon.

    • @Glitcher2000
      @Glitcher2000 8 лет назад +1

      That doesn't make sense. Sealing Dullahan's Psynergy will only skip moves like Break while increasing the chance of him using moves like Djinn Storm and Charon.

    • @farout_tech
      @farout_tech 8 лет назад +1

      Glitcher2000 I'm well aware of those being monster skills, but the thing is that if you manipulate Dullahan's use of Break psynergy (in this case, by binding it), he will effectively alter his use of moves. This way if you know his next move would be Djinn Storm, you could just stop it with Petra/Ground.
      Would have to dig deeper into how his AI behaves while binded, though.

    • @Glitcher2000
      @Glitcher2000 8 лет назад

      So why not just skip the Psynergy seal entirely and focus on preventing Dullahan's use of dangerous monster moves with Ground and Petra? Isn't that logical?

    • @farout_tech
      @farout_tech 8 лет назад +1

      Glitcher2000 Well, Dullahan can cast Bind, Condemn (fairly low success, but chance of instant death regardless) and (less dangerously) Curse. If your strategy revolves around casting heals and buffs every turn it could potentially lead to some very rough times.
      In all likely hood though, the player probably just got lucky.
