For those of you who don't read the video description, this is for you....
you can find the patch for this project and read up on some details here:
github.com/JackitK/Golden-Sun-Lost-Age-20th-Anniversary
It's just a matter of downloading the patch and applying it to your copy of Golden Sun: The Lost Age for the GBA*
While you're on the github, if you enjoy Golden Sun, be sure to check out Dawn of Djinn as well. It's of GS1, but it's a lot more in depth than this mod does, with brand new Djinn, Psynergy, similar quality of life features this mod has, and a couple twists to the battle mechanics of the game to complement the harder difficulty options.

You gave Mia the Saturos battle theme? Well I guess Mia is leading my party then.
YOOOOO DAZ LIT
That's because i'm the best~.
Been a fan of GS since I was a child, and getting across this video on my suggested page really made me want to play it all again, especially with the mod!
Also quite curious about the little surprise at the end :0
Amazing work!
Damn it really looks good ill give it a try as well as your Dawn of a Djinn Version. I highly appreciate your work and hope there will be more in the future! Keep up the amazing work my friend!
Thanks. And yeah, if you enjoy the Anniversary mod I really think you'll enjoy Dawn of Djinn. It was a project almost half a year in the making with a ton of changes to make it more than just "a challenge mod with bigger numbers".... Majority of the features for this mod were inspired from Dawn of Djinn, including the fast travel and changes relating to utility Psynergy.
And definitely stay tuned as I have other projects well in the works including the project teased at the end of this video. For example, I made my first Paper Mario mod for the Paper Mario Game Jam and while the submission deadline is well over, I've been taking time to clean it up and refine it, including adding features I didn't have time to implement for the Game Jam.
I've been updating the proper pages of my Discord as I make updates to my projects, though if Discord isn't an option, I also have a website I post my projects as well, just doesn't get updates as frequently...

What a great mod!
So cool!
I love so many memories
damn this is great too bad im already so far into the game these are good mods ill defo try this sometime
Did you include the Base Damage Multiplier patch so Psynergy damage scales? It's a good QoL change and makes base damage spells fall off a little less. /veryverylate.
I have not, that patch wasn't on my mind back when I first made this. If it's any assurance, I believe that patch could be added on top of this mod and both would work. I don't think I've edited anything that would make it non-compatible.
But thank you for your feedback. I'll be sure to consider that if I ever decide to revisit this.
Hey JackitK, I've been a huge fan of GS: Lost Age since I can remember. It's what got me into RPG's. I have alway been annoyed that I couldn't roam as characters other than Felix. I've looked and from what I see the only finished sprite animations are Felix, Jenna, and maybe Sheba? The point is I know that I'd have to create the sprites, but I'd like to add in a mod that allows the player to 'walk around' as the leader of the party.
Do you have any suggestions? I've never done any modding before though I am a Dev Ops developer and am used to coding. I'm just having problems getting into the game to make changes. The only succesful way I've gotten into it so far has been through 'GoldenSunTLA_Editor', but it won't let you change anything but the palletes for the sprites.
I followed you on Github but don't know how you created your ips files.
If you would lend me your knowledge I'd be greatly appreciative.
Sadly, I'm not sure how much I can help because I probably even less familiar with programming than you. So far, all my work has been within the tools the modding community has provided to me. My best bet would be to check out the Golden Sun Modding Community and ask them directly.
We've mostly been isolated to a Discord channel ever since the servers to the site went down but the heads of the modding scene are very good at helping people. Plus, there's resources in the community tool channel I feel would be especially useful for those more familiar with programming. I'll provide an invite link to help you get there. discord.gg/4EWvPAAnyT
This sounds like a real cool idea and I hope this helps you get the idea off the ground.
@@JackitK Thank you very much!
Isaac loves traveling with pretty girls.
Indeed he does~. I'm living proof. 💙
🐸🍵 You snooze you lose, Saturos~. 💙
Anyway you can mod the dark dawn version to be harder and use isaac and garret?
Sadly no. There isn't any existing tools for DD as far as I know. Gives me more time to focus on the other projects I have ongoing at least.
A mod where Jenna is with Issac and Garet gets kidnapped ... I'm kinda all for that. That would be interesting... or you taking Jenna's skills from the Lost Age and putting them on her in the first gamw (I know that might be difficult cause she doesnt have anything past level 3 in the first game)
It's funny you bring up this exact idea. 'Cause to some extent, it already exists. I have no plans to mess around with Lost Age until I finish my new edition of Dawn of Djinn. But awhile back I made a Golden Sun 1 mod that's essentially that second scenario you describe. If you give "Golden Sun Jenna Edition" a search, especially on the platforms I upload my mods to, such as Github, you shouldn't be disappointed.
Polish is a little rough around the edges, as I kind of shift focus fully to Dawn of Djinn before doing everything I had plan with it. But it's perfectly playable and should give you just what you're looking for.
Can you put saturos fire psynergy on jenna? The one that is like rising dragon, that skill is so cool
I am not working with Lost Age at this time, nor am I taking requests.
do you still need to put the code to get all dijinns? or this comes with the litlle ones fixed?
Still need to transfer data from the first game to have all Djinn so you will need your own password, sadly.
Does this work with Europe GBA version (spanish) and with the save from the previous game?
Never personally tested that, but probably not. It was built off the US release so it probably wouldn't be compatible with the EU release. And even if it was, it'd probably at least patch the new skills an items to English names.
What about the items that'd give you the psynergy? Or, I guess events. Will you get duplicates?
Long story short, those items have been replaced with new items. I believe the details are on the Github page.
@@JackitK ah. The Stone tablet psynergy still are there?
@@asra-5180 Nothing is given early that would cause major sequence break, which includes the Stone tablet Psynergy.
Thermal means heat. why is it wind and leaves?
Because at the end of the day, it's just a reskin of whirlwind. I went with thermal because I was looking for ways to give Jenna more utility and thermal draft phenomenon was the closest I could think of something that could blow things away without being literal wind.
How to apply the patch bro?
Any software that applies patches to GBA games should suffice. Lunar IPS is the first one that comes to mind for me. Download the software, and then either apply the patch with leader themes or the patch without leader themes. Then you should be all set.
While the work done is comendable. You are killing part of what makes JRPG's JRPG's.... As a veteran of Golden Sun. I preffer its annoyin mechanics. But the music, that is amazing!!! I top my hat to you all. An opinion is an opinion. Good work in general. Thank you.
Could you could clarify what here "kills JRPGs" for you. While I'm glad you can appreciate it, even if you don't like it. It does leave me wondering what features got that sort of reaction.
