Skoki Loop Day 1 - Trailhead to Baker Lake

In July 2023 a group of four of us headed out for a weekend trip on the Skoki Loop.
Day 1: Trailhead to Baker Lake
Day 2: Baker Lake to Merlin Meadows, with some extra exploring
Day 3: Merlin Meadows to Trailhead
Our first two days were plagued with a lot of forest fire smoke. On the evening of the second day a huge dump of rain came through, which ended up clearing the skies a bit! The views were absolutely breathtaking. I definitely want to go back and experience this area again with less smoke and during larch season.
Also, FYI - Porcupines are a real problem at Baker Lake and had the campground up half the night with their shenanigans! Make sure you put all of your belongings inside your tent or hang from the bear poles. Even your footwear is not safe outside!
