What kinda rubs me the wrong way is the fact that this story kinda supports the narrative of the caring whitewoman and family that came in the rescue of this poor black american teenage girl coming from a broken home with an incarcerated ex black panther, and a mother drowning into alcoholism afterwards, a sibling running away and another one turning into crack cocaine and street prostitution
And most black americans look at this story as being wonderful not staying it is not something great but I sense that it is more like a whitepeople worshipping type of thing.... And I personally think most not all but most blackfolks are quick to show their admiration to the first whiteperson that shows some kind of generosity to one of their kind. Plus there are stories about blackamericans adopting other less fortunate black american children and giving them another chance in life but for some reason these stories are never being covered. Smh. It is what it is I guess.

I always had a little resentment towards Jane about Vietnam (Hanoi Jane)... but this makes me have a new found fondness for her! Jane you really have a good heart!

There she goes again, Oprah the racist, playing the race card, for that Benjamin, I use to love Oprah, until I grew up and really started listening to her, she has given some of the worst interviews I have ever heard, especially when she tried to do "damage control" in supporting her buddy Gail in her interview regarding kobe's personal life. She was so "upset because Gail had been crying and was devastated." What about kobe's wife, not even an apology for her friends actions. People forgive, but they never forget. I remember, every time I flip on the tv and see Gails face, quickly change the station.
This is an old clip from Oprah, I save it because I love the way Jane Fonda's son comes back at Oprah. I think Oprah seems to have a problem, with black and white, she always makes situations about color lines. As long as people have that mentality, there will always be this so called "black lives matter" Oprah, Let it go. Looks like your taking this to the grave.
Oprah doesn't have a problem with black and white. She is asking questions coming from a black perspective. Questions a lot of people want to know. You seem like you have an issue or your ashamed of that. You need to examine your issues. There is nothing wrong with talking about race. We need to have these discussions, it's when we don't want to talk about it that the problems start.

I agree 100%. She took the girl in to help her and they all had a connection, why bring her color into it at all? I’m glad I saw this again; even in the clip where they mention Ted Turner with Jane and Mary speaking, Ophrah seems several times to try to make it a ‘black acceptance’ issue from whites. It’s not the case in most cases in this black lives issue forefront right now. I never realized Oprah is the one with the problem with acceptance. Sort of reverse prejudice, thinking everybody is against black people. Let it go Oprah. We are ‘all’ different!

I'm not a fan of Oprah, or talk show hosts in general, but her question still stands just as your opinion does, right?
So that leaves us with 'You think your way, they'll think their way, we'll learn how others view the world and go about our business'
