  • Hi guys, due to the actual (May 2020) situation, making your own cement weights can make lots of sense: The most usefull iron weight plates have ridiculous delivery times and/or are pretty overpriced. I was wondering, if making one´s own cement weights is complicated or leads to a mess. Turned out, that its cheap, easy, fast and can do a great job, depending on the use case.

use oil or concrete release spray to ensure you can potentially reuse the "mould"

Great job! I decided to anchor mine to the cement using and eye bolt, but when I eventually move this is a good solution if I can’t alter the ground as I want to.

Great idea! you've inspired me to create ,y own weight. Can you provide a bit more info about the chord apparatus that is fed through the block?

thx, Daniel. The rubber band, that is fed through the block, has loops on both ends. I crimped ferrules to the loops to secure them, hooked a carabiner on the top end and put a bolt (aluminum is fine) through the loop on the bottom side.

How about just a bucket full of sand/rocks and use the handle to attach the lower clip? Call me crazy.

If we would surround ourselves with improvised solutions only, how would our life look like? You have a pretty elaborate profile pic btw
