Fun fact, when Miles is learning to become Spiderman his character animation has fewer frames per second than the other characters to make him look a bit more "janky and uncoordinated", once he has full control of his powers at the end, his character animation is at the full framerate :). It's a really subtle difference but has a good effect

    • @warhawk_yt
      @warhawk_yt 3 года назад +222

Yep until the leap of faith scene he was animated at 12 frames per second to show that he isn’t as experienced and not Spider-Man yet while everyone else animated at 24 frames per second but after the leap of faith scene he is animated at 24 frames.

    My favourite two touches to this film are;
    1. During the "whats up danger" scene, Myles is clearly scared at first, he struggles to bring himself to take this leap of faith, how do we know? The glass shatters because he can't bring himself to unstick and jump, so he has to force himself off the ledge, breaking the window in the process.
    2. that when Doc Oc sees Myles. She IMMEDIATELY recognises him as THE Spider Man.

    Spider-Folk in this movie:
    - Peter Parker & Peter B. Parker - classic Spider-Man (classic red & blue)
    - Peter Parker - Spider-Man Noir (black trenchcoat)
    - Miles Morales - Spider-Man
    - Gwen Stacy - Spider-Gwen/Spider-Woman/Ghost Spider
    - Peter Porker - Spider-Ham
    - Peni Parker - SP//dr
    - Miguel O'Hara - Spider-Man 2099 (the dark blue suit from the year 2099 seen at the end of the movie)
Gwen Stacy is Peter Parker's first major girlfriend.
She's one of the all-time classic characters. I won't tell you anything about her though. The Amazing Spider-Man movies are all about Peter and Gwen.
In Spider-Gwen's universe, she was bitten by the spider instead of Peter, but she and Peter date anyway.
There are many many many many many many Spider-Folk not seen in this movie.
    Some major notable ones include:
    - Superior Spider-Man (Doctor Octopus in Peter Parker's body)
    - Sensational Spider-Man/Scarlet Spider - Ben Reilly (clone of Peter Parker)
    - Scarlet Spider II - Kaine Parker (clone of Peter Parker)
    - Spider-Girl - Mayday Parker (Peter Parker and Mary Jane's daughter from an alternate future universe)
    - Supaidaman - the Japanese Spider-Man with a giant mecha robot (Leopardon) who all of Power Rangers is a spin-off of. (Not even kidding. Power Rangers is a spin-off of Spider-Man.)
    - Ultimate Spider-Man - the Peter Parker of comicbook Miles Morales' home dimension, the Ultimate Universe. He dies and Miles becomes the new Spider-Man
    - Ultimate Miles Morales - the original Miles Morales of the comics, from the Ultimate Universe (Earth-1610). When the Ultimate Universe is destroyed he survives by moving to the main Marvel Universe (Earth-616), where he is trained by the original Peter Parker of the comics.
    - Spider-Man India - Pavitr Prabhakar (a version of Spider-Man/Peter who is from India)
    - Spiders-Man - millions of real spiders who THINK they're Peter Parker/Spider-Man
    - Spider UK - an alternate universe version of Captain Britain (Brian Braddock) who gained the powers of Spider-Man
    - Spider-Punk - Hobie Brown (in the core 616-Universe, Hobie Brown is the original Prowler. But this Hobie Brown became a Spider-Man instead.)
    - etc etc etc etc etc etc.....
And remember, THIS Miles Morales is a DIFFERENT Miles Morales from the PS4/PS5 games Miles Morales, and different from the comics, and different from the cartoons, etc etc etc...
They are ALL canonical and exist together in the same Marvel Multiverse, in exactly the same way that the three Peter Parkers in this movie are all different characters, and NONE of them are the original Peter Parker of the core 616 comicbook Marvel Universe.
And Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield are ALSO other Peter Parkers from the same Marvel Multiverse.
This list could go on FOREVER.

The guys who made this movie were actually the directors on, "Solo: the Star Wars saga". However their style of directing is somewhat chaotic and Disney Studios didn't like the fact that they would change their mind and spend extra money to make the story better.
So they were fired from "solo Star Wars saga" and you could see the poor results that came from that. Then they moved onto this movie and totally blew the innovation factor out the water.

@@patrickcox8990 In life the only way to truly grow is to put yourself in situations that make you uncomfortable. For example, lets say you are afraid of public speaking. By putting yourself in situations, like speaking at a conference, can help you overcome the fear, with time. If you stay in your comfort zone you will never be any better than you are now. Leaping off the building is symbolic. You might fail at first, like maybe the first speech you ever give ends up being horrendous, HOWEVER, think about it. Giving a horrible speech vs not being able to give a speech both equal to one thing: you don't know how to speak in public. You can't actually get any worse, it only feels worse because the flaw is being highlighted. When facing challenges you really can't "fall", it's always a rising journey. With time and practice you will get better, and eventually, there will come a day, where you can give a speech on the spot with no prior preparation, and thats is when you realize how much you've grown. Facing your fears is extremely difficult and intimidating, like jumping off this building but the journey to overcome those fears is a rising one.
However, a scene doesn't have to be deep for me to appreciate it. I liked that moment a lot and it just so happened to represent something that really resonates with me.

    - In her first scene, Ock mentions that her friends call her Liv.
    - When the villains break into the Parker house, Aunt May's first words are "oh great, it's Liv."

So Gwen Stacy was _before_ MJ in the comics, in Raimi's Spider-Man 3 they did switch the roles to have Gwen be the foil rather than MJ. Spider-Gwen (aka Ghost Spider) came to existence with the Spider-verse comic event, alongside Peni Parker (SP//dr) and many others who weren't in the movie (including but not limited to, Spider-UK, Cosmic Spider-Man, Spider-Punk and an Aunt May version called Spider Ma'am), as for Spider-Ham and Noir they actually debuted much earlier
Origin wise, the story of Miles has some similarities to the movie rather than the game, he debuted in an Ultimates timeline (separate from the main timeline) where his Peter died - in the comics by the Green Goblin - and he took over, being the first black Spider-Man and the second latino (2099 was the first, the guy in the post-credits - he is very much badass), he gets some assistance from many characters including getting some training from Captain America - President Steve Rodgers.
The concept of a Black Spidey was actually inspired by Obama's election but Miles' design was based off of Donald Glover during Season 2 of Community (Glover later portraying Miles' uncle in Homecoming), Brian Michael Bendis did a lot of his comics until moving to DC Comics. Miles entered the main timeline of Marvel's universe during a storyline which merged the universe with other alternative universes

Yeah I heard the animators made a short that took like 6 months to complete as a show-reel to show to Sony just to PROVE they could make a movie in this style. It took them that long to develop the unique tech to animate in this way.
AND, little known fact is that for much of the emotion-lines on their faces (forehead crinkles, smile-lines, etc) THOSE were all drawn in by hand. Well, by "hand" they were digitally drawn on but artists basically had to go back and draw them all in.

I wont spoil it for anyone that hasnt read the comics as its probably one of the best Spider Man comic series to date and I highly recommend anyone that has read it to look into doing so because its highly worth it

16:00 this scene, my god this SCENE is PERFECTION. Let me break it down a moment: for Miles, that jump from the building truly is a leap of faith because he's still feeling not ready, he is still scared but he still makes the leap, and that's why the glass breakes, because he was still sticking to it for fear of that jump, of what it meant. Then while falling the camera goes upside down making him go up to symbolize his rising as Spider-Man and soon after we see that "WOOOOO" scene where he goes up between some buildings which is opposite to the other scene where he goes "AAAAAAH" while falling when he tried to make that jump but ended up breaking the key. This movie is just too good, movies like these should be encouraged and I hope we see a Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse 2

As far as the characters you mentioned, in the comics Gwen was dating Peter back in the 60s, but then in the early 70's she died in a moment that collectors call "The point comics transitioned from the Silver age to the Bronze Age." The Spiderverse version is from a much more What If story where she was the one with the spider powers, and Peter wound up dying after turning into the Lizard. As for Miguel O'Hara from the Post Credits, he's Spiderman 2099 from the 2099 line Marvel came out with in the early 90's. Interesting setting, one of the books is Doom 2099 featuring Doctor Doom trying to take over the world, and the world is such a mess that he's considered the Hero with very few caveats. Basically it's the future from Robocop, only with many competing super corrupt mega-corporations.
