Shweta is a good singer, no doubt on that score. The music simply ruined it. It does not suit the mood of the song... Those who speak of the feel of this song and rating it better than the original, I am sorry to say, has no musical sense and appreciation. Read also a comment here saying P Susheela in her younger age could sing this better than Chechi and Vani Jayaram... Both are legends and nobody can contest their vocal skills. But the Voice of Chechi is like honey. Is there anything sweeter than that? The perfection with which Chechi sings on open stage, can any modern celebrated singers croon? Not at all. SPB, Chechi, Janaki Amma and a few others can hit the note prfectly even on stage shows. Dasettan too lack perfection on stage shows. Whether you agree or not, the fact is Chechi is Ganakokila, Saraswati... Her place in the music world and in our hearts will remain, no matter whoever comes and goes.
