I fucking *love* seeing them order parts for the Batsuit - Bruce having to do realistic things like snip off pieces from the belt to get it how he wants, the initial shipment of cowls being too brittle, etc. I also remember, in the theater, *loving* the quick visual of tucking the small radio receiver into the bat ear. Instantly makes realistic sense of one of the silliest aspects of the Batsuit. Nolan is a genius
But I just disliked how convenient it all seemed, you mean to tell me he had all the ingredients to be batman waiting for him at his family's company? Including the cape? I would've much preferred that only the batsuit and utility belt was introduced during the first movie, followed by the rest of his gear and the tumbler come the second film courtesy of Wayne Enterprises RnD division. Contrast that with Ironman 1, we see Tony building the mark 2 from scratch based on his experiences with the mark 1, and it still felt realistic and seemed plausible. Having all the gadgets available seems as if Bruce was always meant to be batman, I get Nolan wanted realism but sometimes it's best to leave things as a mystery, as Jack Nicholson's Joker would say 'where does he get those wonderful toys?!'
Of course, Alfred took care of Bruce ever since he was a baby and after his parents were murdered he had no one but Alfred. He was more than his butler he was also like a father to Bruce.

@Truth Seeker Me neither. It takes away the aspect that his parents murder was an unfortunate tragedy and shows that Gotham is so dark that it takes away the lives of good people just like that. Now it puts into question if it was actually a tragedy or Thomas actually deserved to die and contradicts everything Bruce has fought for as Batman

That’s what I love about this movie as opposed to other superhero origins. He didn’t just become Batman over night/a few days or weeks, it took years of training and planning. It shows nothing worth doing is easy and it will take time, but if you put in the effort you’ll get results in whatever you’re trying to achieve. It’s honestly really inspiring.

And when his house his destroyed I read that it cost him $600 Million to have it rebuilt so just add that with how much the Batcave cost Bruce is rolling
@@alexmason2659 I guess they would have to add a secret passage in the house leading into a Batcave. Possibly an elevator and stairs. Not Bat poles like in the TV series.

1:38 Did they take that from Thunderbirds? I mean it makes sense, but it's what the Tracys do with the rescue vehicles so no one knows what is being built.
Firstly it is bullet proof just not as much armour as his chest And secondly ask any soldier on the planet and they'll tell you noone would aim for the head in a gunfight. You aim for the larger part of the body as it's easier to hit which is why it's less bulletproof.
Earlier, after his disastrous first night where he *barely* escaped from Gordon (who wasn't sure whether or not to trust him yet) by jumping out on to a fire escape, he went to visit Lucius, who gave him that memory cloth to make his cape from. The memory cloth was made in such a way that normally, it was like any cloth, but if you passed an electrical current through it, it would turn rigid and take on a pre-tailored shape or design. (Fun fact: The military actually is working on such a material to use for more easily deployable tents for their troops.) And the way that Lucius was shown demonstrating the memory cloth's properties to Bruce was by using a glove that generated an electrical current. So, I imagine, given all the designing, making, testing and prepping Bruce was doing, that was a shot of Bruce using that glove as he tested out the memory cloth for himself as he perfected and finalized the final shape and design of his cape.

I always wondered how he got the belt to look neat though seeing as how the material is still there because the cuts weren't perfect lol.
