Say what you want about Oscar but he is a true LA Story of a poor latin kid form the hood making it to the top and being one of the best boxers. Respect for Oscar.
He started the school before anybody else did.He had boxing gyms and help the kids without charging them. And let’s not forget about White Memorial Hospital cancer wing that he donated because of his mom. People from Los Angeles know that this man has been doing a lot for the neighborhood from day one.
He would visit the boys and girls club all the time hooking all the kids up 💯
Square nigga couldn't hang with real northern niggas
Are Gringos falling from the sky!?
Toughest cross dresser ever 😛🎈🎈
3 people we need on here ASAP:

Bro, Tio Joey for sure.
George, Gil and Oscar!! Three chicanos from Los Angeles, in the same room and on the same popular show, never could’ve imagined this.
That white boy doesn’t belong 😂
Great interview with Oscar De La Hoya. Loved the stories! Brought back a lot of memories! My name is Rudy Silva, I was a Grand Prize winner of the Oscar De La Hoya Proctor & Gamble Sweepstakes for the De La Hoya vs Chavez Fight at Caesars Palace! Then I won again. Dr. Pepper Grand Prize for De La Hoya vs. Vargas Fight at The Mandalay ! Great times! I will always cherish those times!
How did you win twice...youre a lucky dude or something weird happened.
Rudy you whitnessed great fights brother
Proud to tell you brother I am also a Latino Silva.....👁️👍🏼✔️
I have also won the lotto twice
I can listen to George and Gil all day, reminds me of buddies just hanging out and talking smack.
This was a total " kick it in the garage " podcast. I felt like familia just listening in...God Bless De La Hoya a true Warrior. Thank you George!
Yes sir.well said
I feel like we got the real Oscar here.
Man I was waiting for the tia yelling who wants more menudo oh tamales just coming out the olla 😅😅

@@TA-uk2qj 😅🤣😂
“I’m ready to throw my calzones at him.” AWKWARD SILENCE 🤣
Dang, this is where Oscar got Covid! No matter what anyone thinks of Oscar, this dude never backed down from anybody!!! He took on all challengers in their prime. Oscar was not is not the best of all time, but one of the most courageous!!!
Oscar De La Hoya, a legend, and an inspiration to many. Regardless of his flaws and mistakes, we're all human. But he made it from East Los! Props to George and Señor Gil dor this great podcast!
@Me Pumpy Me Dumpy shut your face. He is a legend and has accomplished in his life more then what you can imagine
Quick get him la bolsita lol
@Me Pumpy Me Dumpy He lives a life you wish you live😂
@Me Pumpy Me Dumpy The rich life boy😂a life you don’t live
@Me Pumpy Me Dumpy And women love him
21:50 how Oscar describes his relationship with his dad is so important. I’ve noticed that a lot of 1st generation Mexican American men have the same issue with their fathers. It’s so dope hearing him talk openly about this on a podcasts
man the la hoya it´s being so open thats what he needs
Dope ass sit down ! There was a spell when "Champ" fought every top contender, that is not recognized enough. De La Hoya was great for the sport of boxing, whether you pulled for him or against him. It gave us all very memorable moments. La Ciudad is proud !
Absolutely love this podcast- LA stories from George & Gil rock! Hope everyone is okay and wishing rapid healing for Oscar!
Oscar is a real one. Miss his fights... only fighter who fought every champion in their prime.. much respect !!
29:40 Gil and Oscar are great dads for doing that. Every kid needs to hear their dad say “I love you.”
34:20 Gil’s wheezing laugh kills me 😂
44:21 🤣🤣 “7th place”
Oscar has 6 kids with 4 moms, East LA stays with you 😂
I felt like I was in a circle of my homeboyz having a conversation with this interview. Great fuxking job guys. Oscar is a real one. Respect‼️
While I was watching this podcast, I found out Oscar is at the hospital with Covid!! I hope he recovers soon and that everyone is safe. Take good care of yourselves!!! Congrats on the podcast, always look forward to watch it every Monday!
That's why he's so skinny. He lost ten pounds or so. I lost 7 lbs when sick
i love how oscar is straight up rasa!! he sound like me when he talk haha he straight from l.a foo lol
I remember Oscar when he was a kid. He is definitely a wonderful representation of our community.
Except when he uses the white stuff 🤣
A Coke head ? Lol
The saints and angels have spoken
That documentary on Netflix was BOMB. I never knew Oscar was this funny. He's a good storyteller.
What documentary?
@@TA-uk2qj The Night Stalker doc on Netflix.
@@TheEnnisfan thank you brother! Always looking for good ish on Netflix. Thanks!
@@TA-uk2qj No worries. It's fuckin' great. You're gonna love it. Enjoy, brother.
What’s the name of the documentary
@34:20 Gil carillos laugh is hilarious! Could not stop laughing 😂😂😂😂
Oscar contracting Covid reminds that we are all mortal and subject to challenges in our lives.... The personal life experiences shared here are not mortal but live on, and despite the childhood trauma, this pent up energy helped him to press on... such as when he faced “Germany” again and won. Get well champ 🙏🏼
He did that just to get out of the fight with Victor Belfort he is a coward liar
@@youngpullup6797 he probably wanted to be able to see how his opponent would do in the fight. Then train how he thinks would help him win.
Hahaha he’s is a coward COVID my ass got scared to get knocked out
Hearing Oscar talk about his dad, so effen relatable. I know nothing about my dad, even though he was there up until my teens. No stories, nothing.. Same with my mother. I don't know why, but some Latinos just seem to be that way. I aim to be the opposite with my kids..
34:22 Gils wheezing laugh 🤣😂
First time I've ever spent time with Oscar outside of him promoting something. Must say a solid stand up dude, not pretenions at all, a man's man👍🏼
Never seen Oscar be real like this
He feels at home. 3 chicanos chopping it up. He can be himself
He needs to surround himself with raza.
Damn, this was a great podcast ! This is the real Oscar like the rest of us normal people… No filter !!!
I'm Boricua born in NYC. . I really can relate to the Chicanos in general. I have carnales in Salinas and Sacra. We studied law at Santa Clara during the early 80s. When I used to get drunk , I had a pretty convincing Chicano accent back in the day. I was watching this podcast and I felt right at home , especially with the ''parachute'' jokes. I'm an Air Force Vietnam vet and I had exposures to the Chicano community since I was 17 yrs old. ORALE GUEY NO MAMES !!!!! hahahahaha !!!!
This has easily become one of my absolute favorite podcasts! While there are still other podcasts hosted by comedians that I enjoy, the podcast landscape itself has become this desert of shallow, meaningless conversation where you're just hearing a group of way-too-grown men BS for two straight hours. With George it's the exact opposite. He never shies away from taking the conversation to deep or emotional places, which leads to some of the most genuinely inspiring stories. And yet his natural comedic brilliance keeps it from ever feeling so heavy that you can't still laugh. It's just never at the expense of the guest or their story, which for me -- and I can't pretend to speak for anyone else -- is very highly appreciated.
In a nut shell, for the most part your speaking of the Mexican culture. I’m sure it’s true for other cultures but can only speak on what I know. Mexicans have a way of bringing light to a dark situation and making it funny. It’s almost like your family from a young age is building character. Your name can be David and one day get hit by a car and have a limp-now you’re name is Tiny Tim. You’re a kid with Tourettes who may blink a lot and now you’re Blinky 😂. Mexicans never seem to shy away from the obvious and still have compassion but always take it in stride. I really appreciate the Podcast because of that as well. No matter how dark or emotional it may be there is always a humor/light at the end of the tunnel.
Bringing Gil on as a regular.. genius move George.. 👍🏽
I cant get enough of this podcast love u George n gil
Love this podcast. Wonderful chemistry, funny, deep inspirational etc.❤️❤️
Deliverance is needed in many of us to be set free from a traumatic childhood past i can relate to it big time. Thank You Oscar good to know many of us are not alone and we need to find our purpose and peace in life. 🙏🏼
I can't get enough of this George Lopez podcast !!!
Oh my god! Really!?
OOMMGG BRO ME TOOO
The look on Carrillo's face when De La Hoya said "I shot up to the fu!@#$%^ galaxy" Priceless! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s dope to see Oscar be so honest these days. Big fan
When your Mexican American in Mexicans eyes your not Mexican enough. In Americans eyes your not American enough. 🇺🇸🇲🇽
He's one of the best underrated actor Hollywood hates him because he tells it like it is talking about how Latinos are underrepresented in Hollywood Movies.
My favorite boxer growing up in the 90s
George, Oscar and Gil. Should be a good one. Get well soon Champ!
Oscar had me laughing down to earth Ese .Great stories!
El Tio is a fucking trip
Great chat, wish more about his charity and giving back to the community was highlighted. Wishing Oscar a healthy recovery from COVID 🙏🏽
This actually got me emotional a few times throughout the podcast.
Great episode I remember Oscar living down the street from me in Montebello with his Rottweilers everybody including the fan club admired his perseverance and rise , he is and always will be the peoples champ ..
Bello born n raised
He gotta be doin something right he got haters these days.
he lived in montebello? damn that’s wassup
Wow thats a big piece of the living chicano hall of fame in one room💕 love u guys💪🇲🇽 got me watching old hoya fight highlights
I’m glad u got this interview before he got covid, omg, I’m praying for him.
Hi zuma we are praying
At 17:55, he tells him, you're going to catch covid. Shheshh. And he did.
That's how he got the 💡 idea
That's what I thought I heard too! I had to replay that part to be sure. 🤔🤔🤔
That was a little freaky when I heard him say that 😳
I wasnt the biggest Oscar fan when i was young. But i found myself rooting for him now. Hes been honest about his downfalls and i respect that. I wana see him beat Dana white ass.
Damm George Lopez looks like the inside of an Asada Burrito 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣😂😅😅😅
Oscar is one of the best of all time 👊.
OMG I Love how they open up their hearts like kids blessings to them ❤️❤️❤️
I didn't expect to see Oscar on a comedy podcast.
This guy can tell a good story, I’m glad to see him doing well. For sure he’s the best fighter I’ve ever seen.
That intro is a riot! 😂🥰💃🏻⭐️
Pinche Oscar, I'm so tripped out that you're just like all Mexican men and we have to heal and confront all our feelings and listen to Ramona Ayala.🤘
Awesome interview! I always look forward to Monday ✌🏼Praying for your speedy recovery, Oscar 🥊🙏🏼
I never missed a de la hoya fight. You da man Oscar
This is a side i never knew of Oscar. He is genuine funny, intelligent, and seems like a descent human being. Wish him all the best.
Mexican dads from the old school are different breed they dont express their lovr for nothing
Yep...my pops(bless him,he is gone now) never told me he loved me,but I knew he did...we had a roof over our heads and clean clothes to wear and food to eat...always.
Oscar seems like a real cool dude. He seems like someone that can be tough to work for but he also seems like the kind of boss that will take care of his employees.
All the experience you have makes you feel better. 💪🏽
Oscar made something out of his life and you gotta give him major props for doing it all and for his Mom and his family everything else its just life and mistakes will be made but congrats to him for all his success.
I love Lopez. I was never an Oscar fan as I preferred Trinidad and others as his image was too clean, but he deserves a lot of credit for what he's doing now and did at the end of his career.
Gil's laugh at 34:00 is 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😍🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hope he gets some of the George Lopez cast on the show
Loved the podcast Oscar is a true legend I’m happy to hear his mushroom experience
80,000 Women waiting for Oscar 😂 at the Sun Bowl
You can tell Oscar is still just a kid from the block. His life success story is amazing
Damn! Having a beer and doing a line with Oscar…..dream come true!
Spanglish at its best on this episode 😍 saludos from Chicago brotha.
Awesomeness great show Mr. Lopez, hopefully and one of these days I might be able to shake your hand. God bless your heart, for making my moments happier.,
Very heart felt interview Oscar De La Hoya real as they come.
LOL what a pairing, the detective and the boxer
Man oscars stories about his pops being a hard ass is what most chicanos go through with their dads man and they honestly don’t know how bad that affects their sons
The one time where Oscar can be drunk and coked out and he’s sober. I guess he only loves it when he’s live on air during a boxing match. 🤣
“The slot” lol
You need to bring Bobby Lee back!! Get Felipe Esparza on there too....
Good show btw,,Hey how about Danny Trejo and Robert Trujillo
Oh yeah Bobby isn’t that Steebee Weebees brother?
Gil has the best laugh!!
After watching this interview I have a new found respect for the Golden Boy…..People forget how deadly this man was…..
Interesting conversation. Thanx George!
Great broadcast, big fun of George Lopez he says it like it is. All the best to Oscar de la Hoya a Legend. Orale saludos de Vancouver Canada.
Best episode ever!!
George lopez looking at Oscar like he is wearing fishnet stockings and high 👠's
Chicano Excellence!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Shoutout to my home city ! El Paso🤘🏽😂😂
Love this pod cast George and Oscar, blessings
George: “you think he would’ve told you if he was in the slot”??… 🤣🤣🤣
Richard Steele was the referee for Chavez vs Taylor. He’s still alive today if I’m not mistaken
He is. He's thinking of Mitch Halpern. He passed away in 2000.
i like este podcast because saves que i had nada que acer and i started to listen to it todo el dia
Much respect to Oscar for his trip , not alot of people have the balls to face himself and his own fears . wishing you the best brother !
Love the podcast.
Awesome interview 🥊
Richard Ramirez called it again ... Oscar got covid .. Man this guy needs to run for PRESIDENT
Richard Ramirez??????????
Referee commited suicide??
Richard Steele is still kicking!
I think he’s thinking of Mitch Halpurn. But that was 10 years later. He had nothing to do with Chavez-Taylor.
That’s what I was thinking. I remember him refereeing with Mills Lane, Joe Cortez, etc well into the 90’s. I always thought the Nevada refs were the best.
That night?
I remember seeing him in later fights too lol…i thought oscar mightve been mistaken😅
I was like wtf he talkin about 😂
Got a picture with Oscar few years back at TPC San Antonio and Richard Steele sat behind me at a Martin Lawrence stand-up act in Vegas. Richard is alive. Too many punches? Ur around boxing so long sometimes the stories mix-up. Long live both of them. Hope Oscar fully recovers and gets back in the ring.
Great interview! Oscar, that wasn't micro dosing lol. That was a full on trip 🤣 good times with mushrooms. Micro dosing is small amounts.
❤️OMG… Thank you for this interview George!! You are are so damn funny!!😂🤣😂🤣 Oscar, I loved the story of your mom forgiving you, that was awesome. I also enjoyed all your other stories!! ❤️❤️❤️
You should get Chavez Sr. In your podcast.
Gil called it
I fast forwarded...heard about "he almost took me out on the first round" I immediately knew he was talking about Fernando Vargas.... Now I had to rewind to listen to the whole story lol
I just loved seeing this interview. It was awesome one I could relate with.
I love when it was getting sad with the Dad stories and slips that Turd at the end, classic!!!!
That was a great podcast. Thank you Oscar for all that you've sacrificed to entertain us. God bless you Champ.
