Big Boy......you have a true gift my brother! Your ability to interview is hands down the most comfortable, classy, and just clean/kind hearted. I REALLY enjoy your program! STAY YOU, STAY REAL.
Are you guys fricken serious? Big boy is not a good interviewer. It actually just hit me watching this video that Big almost always try’s to talk over his guest and it seems like he’s just waiting for his turn to talk. And he always try’s to include himself or compare himself or tell a story about how he did something or went thru something similar to what they did. Big is always waiting for the opportunity to make things about himself. That being said Big reminds me a lot like my girlfriend
At the 19.30min mark when he said 'after my mother died, my life was over, I wanted to just quit everything, I wanted to quit life' - I felt the exact same way when my father passed when I was 36 years old. I can't imagine going through it at 17 years old.
Oscar is an amazing motivational speaker. As a teacher he came to speak at our middle school several times in Coachella, California. My principal is great friends with him. So all staff got to meet him and get to know him. Well done Oscar!!! ❤❤
Oscar is just a normal human being with mistakes like all of us, I remember those years 🥊🥊my mom was a big fan and cries every time they hit him, siempre decía "no le peguen a mi chulo" my mom died 28 years ago and every time I see Oscar remind me of my mother😢
I fee l the same man, this guy has a lot of pain but tried to live his life way he could - never ducked anyone fought like a warrior while being respectful at the same time. He may have his vices but him owning up to it and saying yes i did that but im the happiest in this monet of time in life is all i needed to hear. Oscar- lots of love from a fan in Australia my friend.
Of course you would say this let that have been somebody else you wouldn’t be here responding and if you would respond I guarantee it would be a negative comment
I love how Oscar can always be honest with everyone about his personal issues and laugh it off. That right there is so hard to do alot I do ppl can’t be honest with themselves let alone others.
Godbless you Oscar! Owning up to your past mistakes shows maturity and humility. We fck things up at times, but building it up and continuing on it is truly inspiring. Keep going Goldenboy!
as a X-er ,this did get me a lil misty eyed .. our generation needs to give one another 🎉🎉 , we definitely been through alot and not many of us are left or willing to speak about it .. NOTE : this does NOT take away what other generations been/ are going thru ❤🎉
I clowned this guy in the comments for so long without understanding his situation. Man I need to work on the person in the mirror. We always quick to judge people even more so with athletes because we ‘think’ they have it all. Kudos to Oscar for being real and openly talking about his demons he faces. Blessings to you Oscar!
Oscar looks genuine here. He sounds authentic in his words. Last interview I watched I had a weird feeling, but this one feels good. He was a part of my childhood, and I'm glad he looks in good spirits
This was a great interview!! I'm about 5 years older than Oscar and followed his career from the moment NBC did the special about him (prior to the 1992 Olympics) committing to win the gold medal for his mother. I had tears in my eyes when he won the gold medal. I cheered loudly when he crushed Fernando Vargas. I was disappointed when he lost to Trinidad. There was a time when I started to hate him. However, I now realize that I've never walked in his shoes. I wish him all the best.
A lot of us were raised exactly like Oscar our parents never once say I love you ! We were hit with a belt -our parents never once said let’s talk one on one with you, some of our moms never taught us about the birds and the bees all this in a Mexican household is so fucked up straight up. I feel everything he’s saying and it’s very sad and at times very lonely!
@Priscilla Robledo - I experienced the same thing you did, it's a Latino thing unfortunately, I am Puerto Rican. I promised myself that when I became a mother I was going to break that cycle and I did it, my kids and I have great communication.
It’s not a Mexican thing it’s a human thing people from different cultures experience this. And some break the cycle while others repeat it. Seek god not religion and he will show you how to break these generational curses.
Not all households were like that but I also grew up like that. Now as a parent myself I'm close to my kids but also teach them respect for themselves and others.
My dad was a boxer from east la as well and he loved ODLH when Oscar was a young boxer in the Olympics. My dad came down with dementia but I’ll never forget watching boxing matches almost daily on Telemundo or the pay per views on the rare occasion. Good memories.
Glad to see Oscar and Big boy have a organic Convo and seems like it's therapeutic for Oscar.. He's still the champ in my eyes.. salute to these 2 gentlemen. 💪💪💪
@BigBoyTV, Thanks for this interview. I myself am a Mexican American 50 year old man, and growing up I was a big fan of Oscar, because of our shared heritage and backgrounds. I’m glad to see him doing well, it’s inspiring!!!
Woah. My childhood favorite boxer as well as mike Tyson and I damn near cried for Oscar several times throughout the interview and then the gift Big Boy gave him at the end was awesome. That love was genuine and could be felt through the screen.
This dude was the man , watched all his fights , hated him for beating Chavez but then came back around to admire his skill and crowd pleasing style , one of my favorite fighters 🥊
Pinche borracho, but we love you! 😅🥊😍 Champ! I remember the parties we used to throw every time he fought when I lived in San Antonio. We all would look forward to those fight days! We admire him so much.
Great interview. Thank you Oscar for your honesty. We've all don't crazy stuff. I live how you've evolved to become a better version of you. Cuz we from East Los ese.
Humility looks good on you. You were so young given all that success money it's amazing you survived. We all have a past. My dad loved watching you box
Whats up Oscar my Dad Danny Rojas came here with your Dad together from Durango back in the day I grew up in ELA too went to Ford Blvd Griffith and Garfield puro Los my Dad passed from Cancer and your Dad went to his wake with a girl half his age In a nice black Lincoln Navagater he was cool.
All the people hating in these comments couldn't handle one day in his shoes . Its easy to judge from the outside in. But would fold real quick if were in the same position.
Respect to Oscar De La Hoya! 100%, despite the fact that he dressed up as a Woman and there is photos of that, he is as big of a man as any of us, and credit to him for owning up to it and accepting it (many people would have continued to deny it, and he could have done that but he chose to say the truth that he dressed in women's clothes). The most manly thing you can do in that situation is be honest. I watched many of his fights, he was a tough dude, a little bit pampered and he was always the "A side" in most fights, but end of the day he was a man and fought. So what if he likes to dress as a woman? Many people have all sorts of weird fetishes and kinks, and it is not often that it is broadcast into the public sphere like that. 100% Respect to Oscar for being a man and owning up. We love you buddy.
It’s very nostalgic hearing Big Boy asking him about the first time he was on his show asking him about putting avocado on his face. I remember being in the car hearing that interview on the radio.
Wow what a great interview !! I’ve always admire Oscar for his great character!! Who is not going to brake/fail when the world is put under your feet at such a young age with out the support/back bone !!
Like him or not, Oscar is a boxing legend. It seems like he has dealt with his demons and gotten honest. Many don't make that step. Much respect for that! Did he really lose to Trinidad or Mayweather? Not sure about that. He was great. I wish him well and thank him for the boxing memories!
Wow Heart Touching interview!!! You can tell that touched Oscer you can see it in his eyes and body language very special words great interview 👍 👌 😀!!!!!!!!!!
❤ love your interviews big boy, i also listen to you on the radio since your power days and followed you to 92.3fm . Oscar looks so much happier and healthier, i also think thank most Mexican American kinda felt that way because were happy that someone like us won but our dads are mad that our Mexican champion lost. Mixed emotions that we didn’t understand back then
Oscar is so handsome, this man is ageing so gracefully. He is so humble and caring. Alcohol and drugs ruined his marriage to Puerto Rican singer Milly Corretjer. I hope he has gotten over that addiction, he is our national treasure.
Big Boy......you have a true gift my brother! Your ability to interview is hands down the most comfortable, classy, and just clean/kind hearted. I REALLY enjoy your program! STAY YOU, STAY REAL.
He's been doing it for so long definitely a legend.
he's been knowing a lot of these celebrities for ever, that helps, too

Oscar is such a likable guy. No body is perfect. Your past doesn’t determine your future or who you are.
Of course you would say this let that have been somebody else you wouldn’t be here responding and if you would respond I guarantee it would be a negative comment
He's not likable at all. Comes off as a D most of the time.
It’s cringe to judge someone who has accomplished what he has coming from where he comes from
