Kevin stepped in and gave congratulations like Mark usually does, kept it classy even though he lost the deal.
Yes! Because them big tan bandages draw too much attention when you're brown. Never bothered me until it was all in my Vacation photos lol. I like the clear ones too but the brown is less shiney.
Also, we know this isn't a necessity, but so is lot of dumb stuff in the stores. It's nice to have something that actually makes more people feel included, no matter how small. It's the little things...

JNJ is already selling different colored band aides. It was nothing for them to do that. These people have no patent or exclusivity on brown bandages.
Robert brought up a perfect legit issue with cost and price point yet not one shark specifically asked what they were selling them for in comparison to the main brands.
I think Kevin's match gave them a last minute leverage. Love it when Kevin starts squeezing the other sharks.
Most people don't understand that sometimes he does that just to benefit the entrepreneurs

I am flabbergasted that it has taken this long for this kind of product... mind blowing
0:56 Damon’s face killed me lmao
It’s funny how something so simple could fill such a huge void. Makes perfect sense to me.
They made a good choice having three sharks personally invested. It's not a lot of money to them to lose, but the upside is huge, and three sharks will make this at least a hundred million dollar company.
Kudos to Shark Tank. Kudos to Kevin for making the first Offer. This melts my heart. Almost brought a Tear😢. Love Shark Tank even More. 😊

I wonder how big bandages companies never thought of this. I know there are lots of designs and colors that are already out in the market but never realized these colors are not yet available.
An exclusive deal can be a way for a company to intentionally put someone out of business.
Happens Every Day
@@RobGradyVO It happened to my friend, that's how i know.

Company went bankrupt and closed down, due to making zero sales.
There were people coming by all the time wanting to buy our product, but we weren't legally allowed to sell any.
The product was fine from day 1.
The purpose of the company, was to let people get something affordable that is usually expensive.
The margins were tight, but with zero income and having to pay for a building, tools, employees, etc, they screwed us over.
Let this be a warning to everyone, don't sign exclusive deals, ESPECIALLY if there is a chance that your product may compete with a wealthy established large business, because the loan you need to get things going, is a laughably small fee for a big company to pay to shut you down by getting you in a malicious intent contract.
Just like the Band-Aid company (in 2018 had) a net worth of $30,000,000
It would be effortless for Band-Aid to spend $75,000 to give to Family Dollar or whoever, for an exclusive deal, and have them keep complaining about their design until that $75k is gone and have to shut down Browndages.

They are not doing something about anything. JNJ already did it.
It is implicit racism to think black folks cannot just compete in business they have to exist as a semi charity.
The most sensible comment on here. I was introduced to this thought back in 2018. My mom's background in the medical field and the era she grew up in played a part in how she saw/sees things. This deal was terrible for the entrepreneurs but good for the sharks. The sharks are essentially each giving way less money for more equity, lol they reversed the deal in their favor and suckered that couple.
@@leonardu6094 Sharks are the assets. Kevin is less of an asset than three sharks. They sacrificed some percentage for more assets. Logical. The 7.5% is also not meant to the real number but the starting point. You never start negotiation with the expected percentage but the best case percentage.
I initially thought the same, but in hindsight, Mark seems to have a vision for the product and not go in a partnership with a competitor. If Kevin went to the big players now, they buy out will be small, however, if the three sharks make it a big enough product to annoy the competition, the buy out automatically becomes much bigger.

It just dawned on me... Maybe bandaged are different colour so people around you and you remember , you are hurt. When you apply a bandage the area kind off goes numb. If it's a different colour then you remember maybe not put too much pressure on the area .same for other people.
Just a thought.
If any of that were true, then Band Aids would be green or something, but they are white people flesh colored just because there are more white people in the country.
That’s not the case at all, and it wouldn’t make sense for that to be the case since tan bandages are common in majority white countries.
I’m a brown Mexican , not once have I ever cared about the color of my bandages.
Same here I could were yellow for all I care
I bought these just a couple weeks and love them 💕
This seems like a great idea!! I never really liked wearing bandages because it’s like it would always be so OBVIOUS that I have bandage cuz of my skin tone😭
Actually it is useful I'm a dancer and get snaps and nicks all the time. I'll love to have a bandaid to match my skin color when I have to wear certain costumes or else we have to use liquid and I hate the liquid because it rips easily. Clear bandage still show its bandage because its clear..You all that think it's stupid don't understand to Tru concept..That's why they got a deal
I have used transparent bandages several years ago which automatically match your skin color. I don’t see why someone would invest in this - obviously 5 shades is not enough to match every skin tone. Divide and conquer I guess!
You done crying yet?
@@mosu9133 the deal didnt go through
I've worn all sorts of bandages in my life - blue, red, green, yellow, pale, white, brown, clear....usually when I get a cut, my first thought is to grab whatever is available, but bandages are so cheap there should be one in every color and shape. As a consumer the adhesive is the biggest issue for me - will it hold up to water or no?
Seriously
Such a well prompted question
Kevin's deal was best in my opinion.
I would license the brand to the big players in the industry, and pocket millions in royalties as they sell for me.
Nah, just make it bigger to get a bigger buyout. A company with 3 sharks at the helm is a better proposition going forward than just immediately trying to sell it off
You can even sell this in different countries it would be awesome
Love love love this idea!!!
damon was like pause when got called chocolate😂😂😂😂
As an Irish/ Scottish lad with pale skin I can’t say I’ve ever found a bandage that blends with my skin either, nor has it ever been something I considered for even a moment.
Clear/transparent bandages make more sense. Good for them though.
I would buy these bandages in a heartbeat I never liked how light color they were. It stands out too much and makes you look like you have a bandage on but this way it would just kind of match your skin tone
As a nurse, I never thought about it. But it's a great idea!
The main factor that people who JUST DON'T GET IT overlook is THEIR children get to see bandages with various images of children and characters similar to their child's appearance - The ONLY options that had extremely short runs, Princess & Frog, Doc McStuffins, Kilan & a few others that were so short I cant think of their names - Beyond that is Dora - There are no other diverse long run character bandages - Barbie and all other bandages default to blond with blue eyes 98% of the times - If you don't want to call it Raysizm then at least call it Derogatory Exclusionary practices...
I guess they sell enough of them to continue the product line despite only 9.3% of Americans having blonde hair and blue eyes.
@@LilCletus I guess so... Majority of so called "whyte" are shades of tan, naturslly or by lifestyle (sunbathing, tanning beds or painting fake skin color on for that matter (tanning potions & lotions), so adding more color range is awesome!
