My love for extended for years, when I first heard the band in 1980's I love them when I was a teenager, I'm 56 yrs old now, never stopped listening to them as a young teenager and a aboriginal young girl, love there songs are phynonmina,WOW still listening to all the songs even my grandkids are listening and my one great, love you guys forever, cheers and merry Xmas from me in Australia, original Aboriginal.
They are smokie through and through. Mike is an awesome singer & entertainer. The harmony these boys Terry, Mick, Martin & Steve create is nothing short of amazing. Saw them 2 times in Oz the past few weeks and they give their fans 110 %. Love the old and new stuff. Love u Smokie. Keep rocking boys. Xxx
Sometimes things happen to change the destiny of great bands. It happened to Badfinger & numerous others. They are then faced with the delema do they hire other musicians and move forward or do they fold. As happens quite often, Chris left to pursue a solo career & Alan Barton came along to replace him. Personally, I love Alan..he was a great fit for Smokie in every way. Then came the unfortunate tradgedy that claimed Alans life & changed the whole trajectory of the band. Along came a new lead singer & Alan Silson left. If you watch the interview with him here on you-tube, he was severly traumatised by this accident & could't tour anymore, ergo more changes. Now Terry has been ill from what I understand. Sometimes things just happen. I'm glad Smokie stuck it out. Their music is beautiful . I love their covers of the old timeless classics. 😊😊

Sorry my dear Terry, but this group was never Smokie to me. The members have nothing in common with Smokie. And when you died, dear Terry, so did the Smokie group.
