- Chris Norman is the former lead vocalist of Smokie, a legendary rock band based in England that caused a sensation across Europe with a number of hits including "Living Next Door to Alice," "Stumlin' In," and "I'll Meet You at Midnight." They were one of the most popular foreign rock bands in Korea in the 1970s and 80s, and their popularity was comparable to that of Queen.
Chris Norman has visited Korea to promote his upcoming concert tour scheduled for October. We invited him on "The Innerview" to shares his life story including his childhood musical inspirations and the success he gained as the lead vocalist of Smokie and as a solo artist. He also talks about how he has been following his passion for music to this day, releasing new albums and going on tours.

"I'll Meet You At Midnight" 등 [스모키]의 대표곡들은 70, 80년대 한국 청춘들에게 ‘퀸'과 버금가는 인기를 누렸던 바 있다.
"The INNERview"에 출연한 크리스노먼은 10월 내한공연을 앞두고 한국 팬들에게 자신의 어린 시절부터 [스모키] 탈퇴 이후 솔로 활동까지 이야기한다.
크리스노먼은 최근까지 새 앨범을 내고 음악투어를 하며 현재진행형의 음악인생을 뜨겁게 살아가고 있다.
팝의 본국인 영국, 미국보다 한국에서 유독 더 큰 사랑을 받았던 그의 40여년 음악인생을 "The INNERview"에서 들어본다.

I don't think there was a woman alive in the late 70s who didn't yearn to throw herself at the feet of Chris Norman. He was the complete package!! Love love love him.
Well I didn't:) I met Smokie when they were playing at a dance place in my country and for some reason there were not many people and when they were done they stood at the bar and I asked Them for their autographs and Chis suggested doing it on my chest above my blouse and he did:) I took a photo of them together and one with Alan Silson and me, but I was no groupie though I thought Alan was terrible cute so that was it. I never thought Chris to be the cute one:) Now that I'm old I do have one regret though:) I met Leslie from the Bay City Rollers at the same place and he was my Idol so I went and found where he was sitting and got his autograph and then I smacked my lips on his and wouldn't let go ha ha ha those were the days:) The next day I was meeting Les and Derek with a news paper and I was just hoping that Les didn't recognize me. I have a great photo from that news paper of Les and me talking.
He had a lot of woman on the go. Married but no angel.

I WAS JUST SMALL KID WHEN I HEARD HIS SONGS BACK LATE 70S. IM 50 TODAY IN 2019. The Music Impacted Me. I fell in love with girl next door in my Neighborhood. She Was A Beautiful Blond and Blue Eyes. She Became Childhood Girl Friend in 77. Life was Different Back Then. I miss it.

saw the original band way back in 68 when they were the elizabethans, then in the 70s when they did a summer season at jenkins bar in blackpool when they were kindness. brilliant live band.
