You're a brave man, Cody. I don't think I would ever put a kit like that on my Tesla where I have to drill a bunch of new holes into the body panels of the car. Yeouch. Plus, I think the Model 3 is already pretty low to the ground -- low enough that I have to be really careful not to pull too far forward into parking spaces because the concrete parking bumpers might hit the underside of my front (or rear if I'm backing in) bumper, messing them up. With these panels on, the whole car is even lower to the ground. Really glad you're happy with them (so far), though.
You are not drilling holes in the panel, you are drilling them on the plastic underbody/panel of the car. If you have driven a lowered car you would be aware to have situational awareness when it comes to speed bumps.
If I put these on there are two things I could not do anymore. 1. use my trailer hitch and 2. Get over the new, really high speed bumps I would have to go over just to get out of my sub division.
8:13. Knees buddy. Get yourself a foam pad for when you get on the ground like that. Your not 20 anymore. Also pro tip, when you use 3M VHB tape, when your ready to stick it in final position, pass over the area with a heat gun or hair dryer. It will help bond it better. ..looks good, .I though the surprise was that alternate style front bumper you see sometimes
Nice. The kit definitely makes the car look more aggressive and I like the look. I think I’d pass on this for me though personally. Drilling holes in the underside plus sticky tape to hold them on I would be paranoid that it would fall off. I’m in the north east and the snow and salt etc would eat those underside screws alive. I hope they were stainless steel!
Hi there. I was thinking of getting this kit but wanted to know how's your long term results on it? Would you still recommend it? Anything different that you would change or add? Reliability? Worth the money? Issues with being too low? Thank you man, would really appreciate your feedback! I have a blue m3 so seeing your car with it makes me want to get a kit too 🙂
Prob way to late, But i been driving in norway with this kit for 1 year now, still looks fine as hell today, been driving in all conditions from 20+ C° to -35 C° and much snow, still fine
I hate to redundant or if I miss something here, but what was the total cost of the kit? And would any professional body would be able to instal it? Also would this kit void any warranty with Tesla?
i have a similar kit im installing soon but nervous about drilling the screws in on the bottom (randomly) is there any risk or impacting any important components under the car?
agreed...i think a nice rear diffuser looks like it belongs on the model 3 and badge blackouts...thats about it...not loving side skirts or front lip on it...cheapens the car and looks way too aftermarket-y...especially if the car isn't chrome deleted and has silver rims
Y’all are tripping, the Tessi looks so much better. It’s so boring seeing all of our same 3’s on the road - uniform, electric eggs rolling down the road.
I bought my performance Y for my wife with $3k carbon fiber spoilers and she didn’t like it 😂she said this car looks like some 21 yo kid drove it but it grew on her
There is a downside to all these kits. When I got my Tesla S it was used. The warning chimes that let you know if you were getting too close were not working. I didnt know anything about this as I was new to Tesla. I went over one of the concrete parking berms and it ripped out the plastic fascia under the front end. This affected the attachments etc. IT COST ME $5.000 to repair! And there was no structural damage to the front end thank god. If you put on these kits and go over a railroad track too fast or hit a rut too fast or do what I do, the same result can occur and as you see it can cost you big time. You absolutely must have air shocks if you do this an experiment with the optimal height to prevent this. Just my two cents. No flames.
Hey 👋🏽 I’m looking For Same Help On this ☹️ 😕 I just installed my V5 power Frunk and I am getting a Hood Latch sensor error 😨 on the screen. Anyone have any suggestions??? I triple checked all connection and all are inserted correctly.
Still waiting for my red M3 for delivery in June 2022. That blue looks sick too! I will definitely install this body kit. Aren't you not painting the wheels in black?
Thanks I just ordered a Deep Blue M3P and been looking at kits but can't really find any on the color blue. Yours isn't exactly the one I want but the side skirts and rear diffuser is very similar. I think I'm going with the W2body kits design with the carbon fiber look for around $1,100 with another type of wing instead of just the blade. I saw the actual carbon fiber versions but honestly don't feel like spending $3,500 when I only plan on keeping it for 3 maybe 4 years until I get the Plaid. Congrats man looks great, how's it held up over the year since it's been on now?
Hey Cody, how do you like body kit now? Did you have any issues with the service center jacking up the car for service since the side skirts are so low
Looks very good. I just bought a 8k$ set for my 3p. Razzo set and a viento real carbon hood. Looking forward to install it. But I found out that carbon hood doesn’t look that great on a white car so I now is thinking about putting on a wrap in a color that matches the matt carbon hood. Thinking about orange or a color flow wrap.
I was looking at that kit, but their online store had a lot of shady comments about service. Did you have any challenges with them with your purchase... also will be putting a tow hitch on my 3... think that diffuser might get in the way too much?
Oh I didn't purchase this. Notice in the top corner of the video it says "Paid Promotion". They sent this to me for review/install etc. My communication with them however hasn't been an issue.
I love it! But there is no way I am capable of installing this. Can give me a suggestion, that if I ordered the kit what kind body shop or whatever would be capable of installing? Thanks and I watch every one of your videos and they are very very good!
I don't understand your comment? I mean I get you don't like the look which is fine but pedestrian impact protection? No sensors are blocked or cameras.
@@CfTesla Maybe you can have a look at the NCAP standard and test procedures. Car designers take big responsibilities to design the front in a way, for example, that on impact minimal harm is made to pedestrian. This includes to avoid sharp edges, as those happened to cut off easily limbs from bodies etc. Bolting some cheap China made plastics onto the car for aggressive look, it really makes them aggressive on impact as well.
You can always spray paint those washers black so they don't stick out as much. This looks sick by the way. I want one for my Model Y performance I have on order. Unfortunately I'm not a fan of gloss black. I guess I can order it and paint them.
I have the Model 3 Performance and it's already lowered from the factory... I don't think that front diffuser would survive on my car for very long. 😞 Looks very nice on yours though! Great job with the install. 🥰
Is it ok to drive the car on the freeway right after the kit is installed? I’m getting mine done this Friday and it’s 2 hours away from where I live. Thanks
Very nice body kit, but what is it like driving around. Is there any risk of the rear spoiler coming off as it looks like it's only held on with tape ??
Its called 3M VHB tape (very high bond). It is purposely made for automotive. You would be surprised what is taped onto a car. The front license plate holder comes with the same kind of tape on it. All emblems, many manufacturers us it on spoilers too
Instead of the impact a Milwaukee electric ratchet would have made your life sooo much easier lol. Looks good I kinda prefer them to color match the car so they would look perfect on my black model 3 he he. Probably wouldn’t cost too much to color match if you ever want to go down that road.
Attaching things to my Tesla? Screw that! Seriously though, these type of things aren't really to my taste, but I can see how it looks kind of cool to people. Is there any concern though of dirt and stuff getting stuck between the piece and the car? Love your videos, Cody!
Geez Cody, I always love your videos but this full body kit has ruined your Model 3. The best thing about my MY is the simplicity and clean lines of the vehicle. I’ll never stick any of the stuff on my vehicle. Keep the videos coming.
haha I couldnt disagree more. i love it and would do it again. I would do anything for the channel and to provide entertainment or to help people decide if it is something they want. It's all just for fun. If I ruin the car ill get another one.
This is just something that will trap water and dirt. Body kits are not my thing. I don't want my Tesla to stand out, for criminals. Plus there are too many road situations for body kits to scrap and insurance won't pay for them, should you be in an accident.
You're like our older brother who actually has a tesla and isn't afraid to customize and enjoy it. Thanks for another greatly informative mp4.
Thanks Chris! I really like it

hey yea still loving them. Havent had an issue with the height so far
Good point but as long as the sensors still work the car will tell you how many inches you are away from any significant object
You are not drilling holes in the panel, you are drilling them on the plastic underbody/panel of the car. If you have driven a lowered car you would be aware to have situational awareness when it comes to speed bumps.
Screwing the side skirts on the car ,is that close to the battery ?

Suggestion: Got one of those foam garden kneeling pads. It makes working on the driveway much nicer. Even with kneepads.
I have one it is just under 02398203498 lbs. of house remodel material in the garage
You did not screw this video! 🤣
Nice look. I think the spoiler is a must for Model 3. It's one of the first things I installed.
lol! Ya I like that this spoiler is huge. So many people wanted to send me were so small.
It looks good, that’s the look I’m going for as well..love the aggression and like you said otherwise it looks like any other Tesla

Hey I put on knee pads for most of it. I am so in love with the look.
I always have an issue with the front design of Tesla 3. It looks like Leonardo of Ninja Turtles. Now you did a great job of not noticing it! Awesome!
I'm new to the tesla family. I'm ordering mines on my bday in March! I'm so stoked! 😎😎
I have a kit on mine as well. Rock on, brother!
How to fix the gap on the rear bumper, mine is unsticking now

Idk if anyone has mentioned it, but adhesion promoter on that tape will make sure it never loosens.
Nope learned that lesson the hard way.
Great job!! Thank you!! Also, the car looks great !
topping the cake, may i suggest "wheel spacers" for the stout-wider stance.
I hate to redundant or if I miss something here, but what was the total cost of the kit? And would any professional body would be able to instal it? Also would this kit void any warranty with Tesla?

Sometimes it’s hard for a car owner to be objective and know when they’ve done one mod too many. Even when it’s obvious to everyone else.
Are you saying I have done one too many lol?
