    I'm glad I found your channel. I love this stuff. You are quite the fabricator. This whole foot control for the spool valve is certainly handy. Did you by chance consider what they call a double detent spool valve? You don't have to hold the valve open with your foot. Once the valve sets the ram in motion it stays in motion. Once the ram reaches the bottom of its stroke it automatically returns to the top of its stroke. So, basically you have both hands free, and you're not standing on the foot pedal at all. I'm going back and watching all your videos. Thank you.

    Diamond plate on the table is smart and helps prevent kick out.

    Awesome build , it really came together nice. Major bonus being able to rob the diesel engine and various parts from the donor.

    Great job lads and well built, definitely beef up under that table though, building something similar to it here in the UK out of an insurance write off tracked log chipper
    Loved the videos well done 👍

    Excellent job 👍
    Splitting those sizes of logs. My wedge only goes into log about 4" and I can retract the cylinder.
    27" log can split.
    If I have a 8" log x 18" long.
    I split it twice turn it 90 degrees split it with in 5 to 8 seconds. My wedge is 7" wide at its widest. With mine I just run my engine just a little higher off idle. Only thing i didn't want to listen to revving engine. it's still quiet fast at idle. Those pull type post pounder you rent to fence.
    I have a pounder that sits on the side of the machine. Just under 700lbs of weight. I hit the post 3 hits to their 1. Not knocking your build just say specs on mine.

    When I cut logs I cut a cord at a time. The logs sit in a cradle and I cut them into 18" lengths the logs fall into a tray underneath. Works well. Just takes 10 minutes or so never timed it.
    Cradle measures...
    16"wide/15' long/6 1/2' high

    Great job on the splitter might have to beef up diamond plate steel on the table . Have to get running 🏃‍♂️ gear ⚙️ from an EASTONMADE vertical splitter for 3.7 seconds running time . Overall great ideas for sure on a homemade wood 🪵 splitter. 😊

    Loved watching the build vids for ideas on my own splitter. I'm running the same size pump on a 16hp gas engine with a 5" ram and mine seems quite a bit quicker than yours for some reason. Do you know what rpm the engine is doing as maybe it's not revving fast enough to get max flow out of the pump?...
    But well done on an awesome splitter! 👌

    • @Wolfpupfab
      @Wolfpupfab  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks I appreciate that! The engine rpm is something we had thought about but have not checked yet. That could be an issue as it being a diesel engine, it may have a lower rpm and the pump might need more.

    Is heat dissipation an issue with the cover over engine and hydraulics .? Cool splitter 👍

    I like your work, but I think you made a mistake by putting the pump directly on the engine. Why didn't you make a transmission with a chain and sprockets? ratio 1 to 1.5 or 1 to 2. The engine has power but it has to work at full throttle and it is still a rather slow cylinder. with the transmission, you will reduce engine revolutions and high speed on the piston. This is just my opinion, that's how I would do it.

    • @Wolfpupfab
      @Wolfpupfab  2 месяца назад +1

      I agree that could be a good idea and we may do something like that in the future

    Howdy, nice splitter, especially for a non hydraulic specialist. You state, you want it faster. I am a hydraulic technician by trade, there is a way to speed it up by adding a function to your valve block. If your interested, get in touch, I gladly explain the changes you have to implement on the splitters piping. Cheers. BTW, I'm from Germany, so I won't try to sell you any kind of BS.
