@@IceBurgZ In Cold War they had some anachronistic guns during certain missions, like SPAS-12 in Vietnam. So it could just be they were looking for a Russian gun to put in the game, without focusing when it was produced.

I was thinking of the Yugoslav wars as it is a major political conflict and indeed a mission is set there. Also love the idea of a fictional war in Russia in 1997
2 linear missions, OW, 1 missions, OW, 2 missions… I really liked the CW campaign and I trust Raven, but the possibility of only having 5 “normal” cod missions seems really bad. Prayers that the OW sections are well thought out, immersive, with in depth mechanics, and fun because, if not, this is about to be the biggest waste of potential ever.
I don't think the timeline is connected to the original black ops I can't remember if it was a cold war bunker that was in the mw3 zombies release trailer but if it was it means cold war and beyond is the new timeline after bo4 and fallowing the new mw timeline
The old black ops games as of right now don’t contradict anything in the new timeline so they can be connected, Waw and black ops 1 are obviously canon and Cold War is set in 1981-1984 which is 2 years before the past events in black ops 2 which take place during 1986-1989 which would be about 2-3 years before blacks ops 6 will be set, the rest of black ops 2 takes place in 2025 and some argue it’s too futuristic but it’s just a video game and a bunch of black ops 2 scorestreaks are in mw3 just named differently and looks a little different so the technology does exist, black ops 3 and 4 are so far in the future ( 4 being set in the 2040s and 3 in the 2060s) that those events don’t even matter to our current timeline right now

There’s no way Black Ops 2 is still canon. Too many variables. Cold War served as a soft reboot to the Black Ops franchise. Everything after BO1 doesn’t happen in this new timeline
@@IceBurgZ they can say it’s canon up until BO6 comes out, but there’s no way it is unless they really want to push the believability of the technology jump from MW3 to BO2 which would take place roughly 2 years after MW3. The stories also have inconsistencies and can’t match up. I’m sure they’ll do something similar to BO2 and bring back certain elements and take a new spin at things. Menendez Cartel was teased in Cold War, but it is building up to a soft reboot of BO2. I believe that’s how everything is going to happen.
