Yeah I have to admit, a tear came to my eye when I saw the other video and that they were calling that dish Biscuits & Gravy. And when I say a tear, it was tears of sadness. I was born in the northern US but my mother was born in the south and came from a long line of southern cooks ... so I am confident in saying that what you had in New Orleans was most definitely indicative of a southern Biscuits & Gravy or as some may say Sausage Gravy. I am so happy that now you know the joy of the real deal rather than a California version.
It was so delicious! we didn't stop eating for days! and have lots more videos to come off the food there... We will definitely be back in the future.. Thank you for watching
Yeah, it is like night and day getting biscuits and gravy. The best biscuits and gravy are in the south. Grew up in Pennsylvania and went south twice a year to visit family. I would go down and gain 20-30 lbs in the first day.
I've had awesome biscuits and gravy in California and terrible biscuits and gravy in the south. It comes down to the individual restaurants even though your chances of getting awesome biscuits and gravy in the south are much higher.
Well it did do its work by getting them interested....and now look!
I'm so looking forward to all of your videos from my hometown.
Now that's real biscuits and gravy! Glad you guys got to try the real thing.😀
Us too! It was so delicious! we didn't stop eating for days! and have lots more videos to come off the food there... We will definitely be back in the future.. Thank you for watching
@@thebritstry
Is frequently ordered with a side of hash browns and or eggs.
That is looking like itself at it's more basic form. Potentially real AF.
Make it at home! Its so easy! Glad you guys enjoyed it, next time try venison sausage!
You can find good food all over the US but the south excels at comfort food. It may not be the healthiest but each dish is like a hug on a plate. You will want 2nd and 3rds even if you don't have room for it.
Your so right! the food was so delicious! and it's hard to stop eating! and have lots more videos to come off the food there... We will definitely be back in the future.. Thank you for watching
And a gym membership.
@@thebritstry hi!! I am southern soul sista (North Carolina) and now you see why world says we are the fattest, lol
Most Southern foods are just farmer fuel. They'd get up early, eat a big meal full of carbs and meat, then work hard all day on it; maybe a smallish lunch. Thing is, we still eat that way even if the hardest thing we do is punch a stapler! Lol
@@Pcytripper The whole U.S. pretty much knows the South excels at food. hahaa
Welcome to Louisiana. Make yourselves at home, and enjoy the food. In this state, we love feeding people. As a former new Orleans chef, I truly hope you love your experience.
New Orleans was amazing.. The people are welcoming and he food was spectacular. Let us know if you have any more suggestions of places we need to visit!
@@thebritstry While you're in the South, get yourselves to a Bucee's!!
Thank you for the idea. We will check this out for our next trip!
BOOM!
Gotta love that southern hospitality.
Nothing can beat southern cooking.
It was delicious! we also loved New Orleans!
as a Bostonian ... I heartily agree. I had never had biscuits and gravy or grits before being sent to Ft. Knox, KY. I was nearly shot for wanting to put sugar on grits. They looked like cream of wheat to me. The south has such savory delights.
@@curleyqlink228 Grits are delish with just butter, butter and salt. My yankee uncle put cream/sugar on them in the Navy. Didn't know any better. lol. But, if u don't grow up eating them, they may seem strange.
@@KindCountsDeb3773They aren’t bad with cheddar cheese.
Good, you've finally had the real thing. I watched your first go in California and when I saw what they were selling as biscuits and gravy, I clutched my pearls!
New Orleans was great.. and the food was amazing. Let us know if you have any more suggestions of places we need to visit!
I don't wear pearls, but i sure felt the same way.
@@thebritstry being from Tennessee, I think you'd find quite a lot to eat here. Southern food isn't pretentious, it's just slow-cooked and most of us don't use a recipe, you just taste it, until the ghost of your Grandma tells you its enough! LOL Hope y'all had a great time in New Orleans, and please tell me you tried the Beignet!
@@sabredesatanas518YES! My Grand is all up in my ears when I'm cooking 😊💕
Same here, and I’m sure my granny was spinning in her grave! The previous biscuits and gravy didn’t resemble anything I’ve ever had, either at home or in a restaurant.
You could literally spend an extreme amount of time in Nola just trying the food.
Yes your right! we needed a few more days to even scratch the surface! but we made a good start and it's a great excuse to take another trip there! Thanks for watching
You could head a little west to Lafayette and the food would blow your mind
Hey Brits! Great to see you trying some proper biscuits n gravy!
It was so delicious! and New Orleans is amazing. We have lots more videos to come off the food in NOLA... We will definitely be back in the future.. Thank you for watching
Now that's biscuits and gravy! You just can't get southern food outside of the south the way it should be. A lot of the recipes are generations old and passed down. I love visiting the south even if I am a Yankee.
New Orleans was amazing! the people are lovely and the food is so delicious! We have lots more videos to come off the food there... We will definitely visit again in the future.. Thank you for watching
I hear this a lot, but I grew up in California, and my mom and her parents were from Oklahoma, and the Appalachias before that. We had homemade biscuits and sausage gravy nearly weekly. We grew up poor, so it was a treat that was still affordable. I still live in California, and even some major chains around here (like Black Bear Diner) do an 'okay' biscuits and sausage gravy, and there are tons of small diners in almost every small town that serve it up old school southern-style, since there were so many southern transplants to California from the Dust Bowl era. I think it's more about knowing where to look, which may be more difficult to non-natives
Come on. I can make that myself. It is not difficult to make. Mine tastes very southern. It's not rocket science.
Oh Lawdy thank you. I could have cried for you during your first try at this dish. And sadly I've seen at least one other reviewer check out that disaster. Good for you for taking this extra step.
Thanks for your kind words! The food in New Orleans was amazing.
while you're in the South (if you still are) try country ham and biscuits with red-eye gravy (a coffee based, rather than milk based gravy) - it's something else! love it
Thanks for the recommendation, we are back now but will definitely head to the south again in the future for the food, people and experiences. We will definitely add the country ham and biscuits with red-eye gravy to our list of must try foods...
Remember...the gravy goes on your biscuit, not on the ham! Red eye gravy (country ham gravy) has no flour/thickening agent in it so it runs off the meat - but a biscuit soaks it up like a sponge!@@thebritstry
I saw a video when they were at the Loveless Cafe in Nashville.
They had the country ham there.
True American go get it attitude!!!! Awesome job!!!!! Can’t wait for the next video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for your kind words!!! more videos to come
Biscuits and gravy is literal love and comfort on a plate.
Absolutely! it is like a big hug...
YES!!
So glad your trying the real deal. Lol! While you are in New Orleans it would be a crime not to try more of the food. To me, New Orleans has the best food.
New Orleans was amazing! the food tasted so good , the people we met were friendly and and we didn't stop eating for days, we have more videos to follow..
@@thebritstry OMG so excited to see them!
Oh wonderful! Now I'm jealous. 😂
@@thebritstry LOL I imagine you had to roll yourselves back onto the plane home.
when you said you went somewhere local all i could think was
"yup you need to ask locals what they recommend"
also i will tell you now that some spots look like a crap hole but they have some of the best food you will ever find
i have gone to a restaurant that, i shit you not, was only a 4' by 6' weighting room in-front of a counter with one cash register, and you could see the cook behind, and after ordering you waited outside by another door until you got your food and then either ate it at a bench or went home to eat
that was some of the best food you will ever eat
Absolutely! Asking locals for recommendations is always a great idea when exploring new places. Locals usually know all the hidden gems that tourists might miss out on. Tourists are usually a bad sign
We call that a "hole on the wall"...Some of the BEST food you are going to eat 😋🙂.
Yeah, now you're talkin'! Local southern biscuits and gravy will rarely be disappointing. That's commitment; traveling that far to validate a comment. I hope you capitalized on the location to experience other regional culinary delights.
Absolutely! Great excuse for a vacation! Southern biscuits and gravy are a must-try, and we are glad we made the trip to experience the local flavor. and much more! we have more videos to follow. Where next?
It is so satisfying to see you enjoying yourselves so much. I'm happy you had your own forks too!
lol!! It was delicious! and New Orleans is a great city to visit! We are getting the hang of making sure we have the right silverware before we start! Probably because the food is so delicious, neither of us want to miss out!
So happy you guys came to the actual south to try Southern food.
I was hoping for a price comparison.
It was Amazing and the food was so tasty! Sorry we forgot to mention the prices but we got wrapped up in the taste explosion. It was actually very similar in price to California at $10. Thanks for watching
In the south grits is a big deal for breaky. They could title that video: Brits eat Grits!
Had to find you here in the comments and commend you for recommending all of the Southern states and not showing a bias toward one or another, sincerely a Midwesterner.
I'm from the northern USA, and as far as food goes that's both a blessing and a curse. I know this because I have tried authentic Southern cuisine and soul food....and it's INSANELY DELICIOUS! A curse because I can't find food like that locally. A blessing because if I could I probably would have died of a heart attack by age 30...but I would have died happy! Have a blessed time and enjoy the Big Easy!
Thanks for sharing! Southern cuisine is truly a flavor explosion! It's worth the occasional indulgence for sure.
Glad you headed south to try our biscuits and gravy! You picked a great food city that’s for sure
Yes! We would recommend New Orleans to anyone that will listen.
There it is. Proper biscuits and gravy. Lovely.
While you’re there you should try some Bananas Foster.
The Biscuits and gravy was delicious. We would definitely recommend Toute De Suite cafe. We may have tried Bananas foster and have a video coming soon.
Kudos to you for your dedication to giving our food a fair shake!
Thanks for sharing! The pleasure was ours! New Orleans was amazing and the food was even better.
Southern Biscuits and Gravy is the BEST!! We are Sooo happy you got to try the Real Deal!!
Thank you so much! we loved the food and the ambience of New Orleans,
Biscuits are not scones! LOL. Glad to see you trying proper biscuits and gravy. Hope you can grab some Creole food while you’re in the Big Easy. Gumbo and Jambalaya. Some Po Boys.

In the South south, So UTH we love a bis Chihuahua. The best getting gravy , however , hardy's , it's not the same as it used to be question mark it was good , no no no
Yessssss!!!!! This makes me so happy! My jaw hit the floor when I watched the California biscuits and gravy video. So glad you made your way to the South!!! We know food! New Orleans is the best place for foodies in America!!!
Thanks for watching! we had such a great time in New Orleans.
Yep! That's real biscuits and gravy. What a great way to start your trip!
I looked up Tout de Suite Cafe. It's in a neighborhood called Algiers, on the other side of the Mississippi River from the French Quarter. You could have taken a ferry across the river if you'd wanted.
You mentioned that food was well-seasoned. That's Louisiana. They don't serve bland food.
I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your New Orleans adventure!
Thanks for the advice! We only found out about the ferry afterwards and next time we would definitely give that a go! It's a great reason to plan another vacation😃. The trip was a little last minute but we did get to see alot. The food was amazing, the people were very friendly and the neighborhood seemed nice. The food was soooo good, we have more videos to follow.
I'm heading to New Orleans on Friday next week for Mardi Gras. So excited. I hope you guys have a great time. I like to put a little dash of a Louisiana hot sauce on top of my biscuits and gravy.
Wow! we are so jealous! That sounds amazing... Have Fun! We did try the hot sauce on other items while we were there! we will have a video for you soon!
See, we were right when we said you have to come to the south to try southern cuisine
You were absolutely right! we didn't want to leave. The food is so tasty and we didn't stop eating for days,, we have more videos to follow..
southern food is the best to me. its allways made with love and care
It was delicious! we can't wait to go back! thanks for sharing
Glad to see y'all here in my hometown eating real Southern food. I hope y'all were also able to hit up some of the other spots that I recommended in the other video.
We didn't stop of days! New Orleans was amazing, we tried so many new foods and the people are all helpful and friendly.. We will definitely go back! What out for more videos to come.
We're from Alabama, the deep south. My mama, mamaw, aunts and cousins are all amazing cooks.I make a pretty tasty homemade biscuits and sausage gravy. My husband and kids love it.
Thanks for sharing! We would love to visit Alabama! we also need to try making them at home!
Excellent! Now you have a biscuit and gravy fighting chance. 😅. Food is definitely a very high point in New Orleans. You may be ruined after this.
It was delicious! we didn't stop eating for days! We will definitely be back in the future.. Thanks for watching
The south will never disappoint when it comes food! Born and raised
Thanks for sharing. We really enjoyed our time in New Orleans, The food was delicious.. We have another video out this afternoon....
Back in the day there was a little breakfast cafe by my house only opened for breakfast. They specialized in biscuits and gravy. What was really popular were their half and half. Half biscuits and half fried breakfast potatoes smothered in sausage gravy. Add a little hot sauce, pure heaven in every bite. Today I make my own sausage gravy over fried potatoes. Great video.
You have made me hungry now with that description! Thanks for watching.
Lol! You can not do biscuits and gravy other than in a place like New Orleans or anywhere in the South. Also seafood, fried chicken, po boys, shrimp etoufee, jambalaya, crawfish boil, and of course going to Cafe Dumond getting beignets!!! Lol! Yes go to the where the locals go!!! So happy you re there!!!! Enjoy!!!❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing. We tried so many different foods but could have stayed for a week and not scratched the surface. More videos to follow soon.
@thebritstry It's a cool place for sure!! Glad you could experience it.
It was such a great experience.
@@thebritstry I'm so glad. Louisiana is so cool.
There ya go! Finally got a good example of what we Americans know as B&G. The Biscuits could have been split in half, but that's alright.
There was sausage in the gravy in your West Coast sample. That's where all the flavor comes from in the white Sawmill gravy.
It was delicious and so tasty! we could have eaten it twice!!!
it's so easy to make at home. give it a try.
We will! but we are scared that is all we will eat once we know how to make it!😂
When they get home to Britain, they probably wont be able to get a good American comparable breakfast sausage. Sausages from other countries use different spice blends, creating different flavors, which could make their gravy very different than ours. I have watched many different videos of foreigners making American biscuits, and they seem to make a lot of Hockey Pucks.
New Orleans has the best food in the country. I say that as a native New Yorker . New York City may have a wider variety of food but I have been everywhere in the USA and no city takes the pride in the food they make like NOLA , impossible to get a bad meal there .
Yes! We would recommend New Orleans to anyone that will listen. Where else would you recommend we try to visit?
We have something similar in West Germany. It's called Ragout fin. It's actually leftover food that was eaten in the days after a party. Various leftovers of cooked meat and roast are cooked in a white sauce with champions (or without), with peas and asparagus (or without), but definitely with a dash of white wine and creme, served in puff pastry gratinated with cheese.
The noble form is not from leftover meat, its made with veal, pork and chicken.
In East Germany they call it Würzfleisch (=spiced meat), they eat it with toast instead of puff pastry, and use only pork.
so easy to make at home ... somehow not easy for fast food restaurants to get right
Thanks for watching. We need to try making this at home in the future, although that could be dangerous, as we now know how delicious it is.
S & B is my favorite breakfast. You should get a side dish of hashbrowns as well and then spoon the extra gravy over it. S & B is super easy to make at home if you buy refrigerated biscuits to bake at home as well. I can only eat S & B on a Sunday morning because a nap is needed afterwards.
Wow! The hashbrown pro move sounds delicious! next time we are adding that.. I get the needing a snooze afterwards. Thanks for the tip and advice
You guys - this is very easy to make and it's delicious! You actually can just buy Pillsbury Buttermilk biscuits that you pop open and bake!! You guy breakfast sausage (ground - not patties or links) - you brown the sausage in skillet - then you add about a 1/2 cup of flour, salt and pepper - and stir until the sausage is coated with the flour - then you slowly stir in about a cup of milk - until the gravy has thickened!! Taste and salt and pepper to taste if necessary! And there you have breakfast!!! Or homemade biscuits are easy to make too.... Go for it!!
Thanks for sharing your recipe! It sounds delicious and easy to make. Can't wait to try it out! Thank you for watching
Canned biscuits..🤢
I am from California and I was born there.
Your 1st experience was a travesty to biscuits and gravy...😂
I'm from California, too, and we had legit biscuits and gravy frequently. My mom and her parents were originally from Oklahoma, though, and her grandparents were from Appalacia. You'd be surprised how easy it is to find in some parts of the state, especially in the more rural areas like the Central Valley. There are several places in my tiny town that serve legit biscuits and gravy. San Diego, probably a harder ask hehe
@rhequiem oh I totally understand, we can get legit biscuits and gravy here... but their 1st experience was definitely not it 😉
I actually grew up in the Sierra Nevada mountains and that's where I learned to country gravy... then I got hired to transport cars cross country and I got to experience waffle house and stuff. Been to all 48 continental states and most major cities in my 20s.
We have now tasted the good stuff!
The biscuits and gravy in SD actually tasted really good! we just didn't know what to expect! They were different to the Biscuits and Gravy we got in New Orleans but i suppose we just need to hunt out the smaller mom and pop places. Let us know if you have and recommendation on where we should try!
@@thebritstry I'm excited to see you both make it yourselves and maybe even put your own British spin on it, once you have the recipe down :) It's deceptively simple to make, but like all simple things, can be quite challenging
I love that they listen to their viewer recommendations and will try something again at a different place.
Real biscuits & gravy has to have chunks of sausage in it.
It was so delicious! and have lots more videos to come off the food there... We will definitely be back in the future.. Thank you for watching
finally New Orleans! enjoy
New Orleans was amazing and would highly recommend it! the people are friendly and the food is delicious.. we have more videos to come
I love that you guys actually tried to find a hole in the wall place. Those tend to have the best food in my opinion because they're typically run by people who have a passion for the food they're cooking. You get something that's really close to what many of us southerners had in our childhood. I'm so happy that you enjoyed it. This is a major comfort food for a lot of us and it's really pleasing to see people genuinely enjoy something that brings me comfort.
Thanks for watching. We loved Toute De Suite cafe in New Orleans, it was set in a nice neighborhood 20 minutes outside of the tourist center. We would highly recommend it.
Now that's what I'm talking about! That is a slice of heaven right there. Glad you finally got some good biscuits and gravy. ❤❤😊❤😊❤
So good! Wish we could have brought some back with us!
Love seeing ppl enjoying our good foods much love everyone
Congratulations...you are the first people I have seen on RUclips who found actual biscuits and gravy!!!!!!!
Thanks!!🤗
Thank yall for trying the real thing! ❤❤❤
It was our pleasure ... We would definitely recommend Toute De Suite cafe was delicious. New Orleans was Amazing.
“I think there’s every chance we’ll be moving here very soon”😂😂😂😂😂 Love it!!!
South eastern lower Michigan here. Sausage gravy and biscuits is different from biscuits and gravy. The difference is the actual sausage in the gravy. It’s been a family favorite since I married my husband nearly 30 years ago. His parents moved up here from Alabama and that was what he grew up on. My parents grew up here and my father was a cook in the army. Chipped beef aka SOS was something served as breakfast and there were those who loved it and those who detested it. He swapped the chipped beef for ground and added the spices used to make breakfast sausage and that’s what I grew up with. It’s a bit lighter but not by much. Still my house is more sausage gravy than SOS to this day. My grandkids love it!
Video Paused. Gets ready. Oh man real southern Biscuits And Gravy. Thanks for content Hope you got your fill of many foods while in the (NO Leans} New Oreleans
It was delicious! and we tried lots of other dishes while there.. We would love to go back as we think you could spend weeks there try new things..Thanks for watching
I 'm so glad that you tried biscuits and gravy again. And this time was the more conventional way. Biscuits and gravy have many variations, but this one is the most basic. American biscuit gravy, is made with ground pork breakfast sausage, fried to a crumbled state, then add flour to the sausage ( and all the grease), stir and cook for 2 or 3 minutes, then slowly start adding milk. Keep stirring and adding milk, it will thicken as it cooks. Thicken to your desire, split biscuits, ladle on the gravy, and enjoy. Biscuit gravy demands a lot of black pepper, and a little salt. I like to add red chili flakes to mine. This same gravy goes really well over fried chicken, or chicken fried ( country fried steak). In the US, we have several different gravies, different gravies, ( and different colored gravies) for different meats, from white to dark brown for beef, or ham.I hope you enjoy your culinary adventures while here in the states.
Thank you so much for all the information and recipe ideas. We definitely want to try country fried steak in the future and visit as many states as possible.
The place you got the biscuits and gravy, around the corner from that café is where I got my first apartment at 18 years old. Good memories in that neighborhood!
I TOTALLY forgot you said you were going to New Orleans within a few weeks of announcing. YAY!!
NOW I'd love to see you try and make this at home! The recipes for both are really not that complicated. Now other Brits who will see this and KNOW biscuits in the US are NOTHING like scones, LOL!
We will definitely have to try making this at home..... but it's too good!! We may never leave the house again😂
I feel sorry for people who have never tried Biscuits & Gravy,, I'm a 63 year old native southerner & been making it since i was 9 years old.

I'm so glad you corrected your experience. Some foods in the world are easy to not get right. This was one. I live in the South and have had some TERRIBLE attempts at Biscuits-N-Gravy.
Grits are another Southern dish that is also easy to mess up if you are not in the South. You have shown a lot of respect to cooks in the South by doing this video. Thank you. Just like Italy, food in "The South" is made with pride.
The South has always been heavy in Agriculture. The Annual Income has always been lower than other regions. When you don't have much in "The South", you still have Food, Family and Friends. Thanks for sharing your videos with us.

It was so much fun!!! Thanks for taking the time to watch!
I'm so happy about this. I saw you trying biscuits and gravy in California, and left a post telling you that California doesn't do southern food. You're in the right place now. Enjoy.

He sounds like a keeper!!! It such a hearty meal! and you can eat it at any time of the day!
I recently joined your channel and I must say you two are so fun to watch!! As a Southerner myself, I’m happy you chose to try AUTHENTIC Biscuits and Gravy! I grew up on this delicious dish and I believe my veins are filled with half gravy!! 😅

Ok you guys have redeemed yourselves! I was one of the respondents who ripped into you for featuring less than ordinary Biscuits and Gray in California, of all places, and for using the "S" word, S for Scone that is, in comparison to an American biscuit. However, my respect level for you channel has risen 1000%. .You knew you had to make it right after that debacle, and you did. Love it! Love it! Love it! I see you have upped your game. Yes! we loved it... it was a great laid back place and really nice people. Well worth the trip out of the center.
I'm glad you got some real southern biscuits and gravy
I am a Midwesterner and we split the biscuits open and pour the sausage gravy onto the biscuits. We eat it as is or have it with eggs and fried potatoes on the side, but it is a meal by itself.
And a nap after 😂
Sounds delicious! my mouth is watering! so tasty and filling
Yeah! so filling. Definite food coma afterwards
Now THAT’S biscuits and gravy! That looked so good!
It was so good! Thank you for watching
Glad u got the real thing. It's made in homes like that, not just restaurants. New Orleans is such a treasure of food, culture, music, etc. Hope u went to Cafe Du Monde. It felt European to this U.S.southerner. Beignets and the coffee Au Laite is Not to be missed. Decatur street in the French Quarter is the Original. It's a cultural icon and experience. Love ya'll !
I GREW UP on real southern biscuits and sausage gravy...watching yall enjoy that made me homesick...I want to fly home now and get some. 😋
They are so delicious!😀
I’m so glad you got to eat authentic biscuits and sausage gravy. I love watching you eat food here in the USA.
I hope you will take some of the seafood dishes in New Orleans, I have developed a seafood allergy so I live vicariously through others as they enjoy eating it, I can eat fish and had the most delicious catfish I’ve ever eaten in New Orleans.
Hope you’re having a wonderful time, can’t wait to see your next video 😊
Thank you! we may have a crawfish boil video where one of us is scared to death!😂
Thank goodness you tried 'real' sausage and gravy. I make mine with 'spicy' sausage and my homemade roux. Nothing like real homemade sausage and gravy. Glad you found a good place to get it. It's hard to find good southern food up here in the Midwest. That's why I make my own.
We need to try making this at home! the problem is, we might never want to leave home again! Thanks for sharing
Top with some Louisiana hot sauce and a side of good hash browns… perfection!
Now that's proper respect for the meal; thank you.
Speaking as an old southern gal, this is not just comfort food, but inexpensive eats as well.
The ingredients are minimal and humble:
-Biscuits: flour, butter, milk, maybe a little salt
-Gravy: sausage mince (fried down to crumbles and grease), flour, milk, season to taste (but do use overmuch black pepper)
The time it takes the biscuits to bake is about how long it takes to make the gravy, so both are hot when ready to assemble.
The point of making fluffy soft biscuits is so the biscuits soak up and hold the gravy. In fact, biscuits are often served with meals that feature gravy, au jus, stews, or soups; the biscuit is sometimes referred to as a 'sop' for its sponging up thick liquids on the plate or in the bowl (like with chili or with tomato sauce).
Thanks for watching! we loved our time in New Orleans! we have another biscuits and gravy video coming soon.
I’m so glad y’all went to find real biscuits and gravy!
Thanks for watching. The food in New Orleans was amazing and we have more videos to follow soon.
Dont forget Cafe du Monde for beignets. Find somewhere for authentic Jambalya, Boudin Balls, Bananas Foster, banana pudding and a Crawdad boil. Gator and frog legs are optional. They're both good, but you'll end up really full.
Thanks for sharing. New Orleans was great! We tried so many different foods but could have stayed for much longer! More videos to follow soon.
Another great video
❤️
Thank you for taking the time towatch it!
“I think there’s a chance we’ll be moving here very soon.” 😂😂😂 So glad you tried the real thing! 😋🤤
LOL! I don't think he was kidding!!
@@thebritstry 😂😂
Now, that's biscuits and gravy. Welcome to real southern food.
New Orleans was Amazing, the food and the people. We need could have stayed for weeks to try everything we wanted too.
I am from California and we absolutely do not claim the biscuits and gravy you had here. Ive grown up with biscuits and gravy since childhood and always remember it like what you had in this video
Thanks for watching!
Another British trying this used the description. It's like a warm hug from grandma.
I find that description, one of the best I have ever heard. Glad yall enjoyed it.
Thank you for watching!
I just moved from this neighborhood, so glad to see you made it to Algiers Point. A beautiful and historic neighborhood of New Orleans with fantastic architecture!
It was very cool! We are very Jealous. Toute De Suite was definitely worth the trip! The food was Amazing.... Say hello from us, if you manage to give it a try. We wish we would have tried the river crossing but we only found out after we already visited.
@@thebritstry From your other videos it looks like you made a nice round of food touring, great job! Now you need to book your trip back for Mardi Gras next year 😀
I'm so happy I found your channel. Great content and you two are so fun to watch. This is traditional biscuits and gravy. I don't know what the other chef was on that cooked your first one.
I love this video Nicola, the way you defend your meal!!!
Haha, I take my meals very seriously! Gotta defend them with all my might!
Now I'm hungry and want biscuits and gravy !
Me too! It was delicious.. Thanks for watching.
I always love to see people come to my hometown and enjoy the food! 😂
New Orleans was Amazing! We wish we had more time there.. guess we will just have to go back again!😉
Welcome to Louisiana! Hope y'all have a wonderful time and Happy Mardi Gras.
Thank you for having us! It was wonderful! we would definitely recommend New Orleans to anyone
So glad you didn't go to Cracker Barrel! I used to work there and most food there is premade and just heated. Their biscuits come in frozen just brushed with butter then baked. And the gravy doesn't have sausage chunks at all. Glad you were able to get the real deal!
real biscuits and gravy is the one of the best foods ever! im glad you guys got to try it
So good! We agree.. New Orleans is an amazing city
That is exactly like what you get for breakfast at a Granny or Meemaw’s house in the South! The biscuits are homemade, the gravy with sausage is exquisite and made with love. Lord, now I miss eating at my Granny’s!😊
So good! but where do we go next?
@@thebritstry You need to come here to Texas. Try our barbecue, Tex-Mex (at an authentic spot, not Taco Bueno😵💫) and a good old burger at Whataburger. In and Out Burger? Absolute posers.
Thanks for the tip on BBQ! we are working on it, watch the space.
I have yet to ever hear of anybody that didnt like good ole biscuits and sausage gravy! Close to my all time favorite breakfasts as long as its homemade gravy.
It's hard to beat the classic combination of biscuits and sausage gravy! We love it! Thanks for watching
Now yall know what a hug on a plate feels like lol
Your Right! Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts!
I adore how she decided that the biscuits and gravy were more important than Andrew 😆🤣😆. I’ve had physical altercations over biscuits and gravy. I will fight for that meal if done correctly.
Lol! Who needs a significant other when you can have biscuits and gravy? Thanks for sharing
I'm afraid I can't show your other video to my two southern work moms, they would comment 'Bless your hearts...'
Thanks for looking out for us and thinking about how different audiences might react! Thanks for watching
You were in my neighborhood! So glad you enjoyed it :)
Wow! Really.... That's great! Wish we lived nearer Toute du suite cafe, the food was delicious. We have lots more videos from our trip coming soon, we will upload one tomorrow!
When my friend Elena stayed the weekend at my place, I made her proper biscuits and gravy because shenis from bulgaria and it was her first time in Seattle. She was hesitant at first but it is her new obsession!
We can see why. We have not made them at home yet, but we are going to. 🤗
Loved the video! You two are always adorable!! Glad you are out of your car. I wanted to be there eating biscuits and gravy. It looked delicious!
Thank you for your kind words! we would recommend to Toute de Suite cafe, if you are ever in the area!
