Magnificent. Very appropriate backdrop, excellent color scheme. Erda's voice and diction are top notch, given the demands of the part and Das Wanderer is on par with the very best. The suspension arm for Erda's chair should've been hidden somehow. Wish I could attend it live. MANY thanks for the video!
Amazing production! I wish we would see more like this! Perhaps Munich could learn from here. The voices are great too although Erda could be with a lower tessitura for a deeper impression. Bravi tutti!
Fascinating backdrop for the Earth Mother... I'm always in love with Erda's music, no matter the singer. This Wotan, on the other hand, sounds quite one-dimensional, monolithic and un-nuanced to me.
Its disappointing because not a real contralto voice, no strong low notes, she speaks them more than she sings them, no rich colors ...only a mezzo, for them the aflat on Meineid is comfortable but far from beeing a scream as it should be.... what a pity!
