Pinnacle Ridge: finding it, climbing it

  • The best scrambling route in the lake district! This is Pinnacle Ridge, grade 3, approached from Patterdale. It is difficult to find this superb route, but once found, it's a gem. Many parties rope up for it, due to the steep chimney crux and exposed sections. It is, however, escapable from a few places so not too committing.

This truly was epic Sue you and Dave made what is a tuff technically hard scramble seem very easy 🙌🙌(and you did it on a single sandwich and a pork pie between you 😳🤭)
I know we don’t mention the M word now 🤭 but I can see how that was done with how you moved over this rock (you guys are the real deal 🙌)
    Great film
    Best regards Sue Dave 🤠👍

Well done, you managed to follow the approach route, locate the start of the scramble and follow the established route to embrace all the good scrambling. Same cannot be said for some vids I've seen of this. PR definitely one of my very favourite scrambles in the Lake District.

Good job Sue and Dave! 👏👏Can't beat a good scramble - and in such good conditions. Looked like you had it to yourselves? Shame about Dave's lunch, at least he can't say he lost it in the tent 🤣Hope to catch up with you both over the summer. TTFN 🤗🤗

Thanks Ian!! Have you done this one? I’ve just had to dig out the ropes as it happens… I got locked in the house this morning. I was setting up an abseil out of the upstairs front window but the window cleaner turned up just in time 😂😂😂

I have to say Sue, you and Dave never fail at making me laugh out loud at some point in your videos hahaha you're such a great duo! These adventures of yours are a joy to watch! I felt so sorry for Dave when you said he'd forgotten his sandwiches. I would've turned around hahaha if I don't have food, I stop in my tracks and nothing can convince me to keep going😂 This track looked steep though, so I don't think I'd join at all. I'm terribly scared of hights😅I'd much rather enjoy this view through your eyes and camera! Those rock slabs were huge! I can't believe you climbed this without a helmet, Sue??!! You were very generous though, sharing your meager supplies, I wouldn't have 🤣wonderful video you two, thanks for making me laugh and sharing gorgeous views! 🥰

Hello, dear Frederike 🥰 It’s always lovely to hear from you, you are one of my special favourite RUclips acquaintances, and I mean that. I think it’s because of your artistic talent and wearing your heart on your sleeve, as we say. Thank you for the lovely comments, the feeling is mutual for sure! You are absolutely right about the helmet of course. That was very remiss of me especially since Dave NEVER forgets to wear his. Even if he does forget / lose other things sometimes 🤭 I’m so pleased you enjoyed the views & the humour. It’s such a pleasure to think of others having a good laugh…. keep smiling and please keep creating! ❤️ your huge fan, Sue

Truly! you are one of my favorites I've met on here, your kind heart and soul making me both laugh, feel loved and encouraged all at once through your words and your videos. It's a relief to hear that no matter how many things Dave looses, at least he doesn't loose his helmet hahaha I hope to see both helmets AND sandwiches in the next one!! Or in a later video😂 Thank you for being so lovely to me, Sue, it honestly means so much!!
