Well, if Aliens were in London, they would DEFINITELY want to see all the landmarks on a sightseeing bus !!! So it's perfect logic to add them to the set.
Thanks, been trying to get it done since I queued up with you to buy it on 1st June !!!!! It's a really cool set with that rotating destination board, but I like it even more now.
This is definitely an upgrade over the old one. I could never force myself to put those stickers over mutliple bricks, but that can be solved by moving the 1x4 brick all the way to the back and putting the stickers on the row of 1x6 slightly more to the front of the bus instead. I like all the small changes to make the bus a little more neat and strict with the coloring. It maybe could use a tiny bit more structrural detailing, instead of only the stickers, but I'm struggling to think of what that would be. Thanks for the upload!
Ahhhh, I grew up with Lego from the late 70's and throughout the 80's, so I often had to apply stickers across multiple pieces, as that's just how the sets were built. Thanks for the compliment on the colouring details, I understand that Lego can't always avoid it, but when the pieces are available in other colours, sometimes it baffles me!!! Great mod. This is the first time I’ve seen it without the stickers too. So much better. They’re god awful. LEGO should have named it “Chinese New Year Bus” and sold it under the Ninjago theme. Thanks for sharing.
You ACTUALLY made me LOL !!! Yes the stickers are a tad busy, but I thought I should add them so people can see what it would look like. Glad you liked the vid.
yes, I’ll do the same on mine, so the driver is on the “correct” side!! which I do on all my Lego vehicles. But for the video I didn’t want to confuse anyone watching, making the MOD more complicated, so I just extended the original bus, Thanks for commenting, and I’m glad you liked it
This is a cool set (definitely one of the better city sets this year) and the modifications are just top notch. It looks much more proportionate with the extension. I think you may have been able to rework the top to have the stickers properly on the 1x6 bricks but it probably would require more added bricks rather than trying to use all of the ones from the set. I do have this set on my wanted list. I may have to come back to this to review the updates.
Thanks for the compliments, and yes, I agree it's proportions now look much better. Yes, there would have been ways to sort the stickers, but I was having trouble keeping its structural integrity, with the 4x6 in the middle. it needed the bricks to hold it firmly to teh other plates. If I shuffled them round I would have probably needed a few plates underneath to hold the upper deck togather. As always, thanks for commenting.

This is a good example of a set that can probably be found at a good discount, since it will be sold by other retailers than just Lego stores. It shouldn't be too hard to find at 25% or more discounted, which is an 'okay' price for a reasonably large vehicle and a bunch of minifigs that aren't too bad either. Also, you can just get the instructions, build the bus with all the common parts and replace stuff like the chairs with brown ones. (which is probably more realistic anyways) I think I found those on PAB some time, got about 12 laying around.
@@pinobluevogel6458 That's a GREAT plan ! And yes, Brown chairs were kicking around on PAB walls for quite a while a year or so ago. I think I've also got a dozen or so lying around somewhere!!!!!!! I got a load as I thought they'd be good for outside park benches !

@@brickheaven6037 I think it depends on the type of city you have. Mine has a lot of older sets, so I have a lot of 4-wide vehicles. Plus I’m currently only using the new road plates, which only allow 7 ish studs per lane, so a 6 stud wide vehicle looks in proportion. (I used to buy all the speed champions until they went 8-wide, and now they don’t fit!) I think for builders who have wider roads, who add SNOT bricks to the sides of the road plates, they could DEFINITELY do with using wider vehicles, and this at 8 studs would then look awesome! First of all, you'd need to find an 8-wide windscreen piece to use. (I didn't have any 1mm wide lego pieces anyway, so 4 studs was my only option)
On a bus like that, it would definitely have a double door in the middle, but IRL it would fold in, instead of open out. So I can accept it's look when closed, but opening it up, makes it look not that great.
