Hey! Satchmo was doing everything so much earlier than so many folks. . . and with such heart and love for the pure music and its beautiful message. Always love ya, Louie!
How long did you think before you wrote that? 2 seconds? Lamenting the state of music today (a favourite pastime of many on youtube) and positing innane, illogical conclusions does not make you look smart. More like the opposite.
I bought this video a few years ago, this was not in it! First time I'm seeing this and liking it very, very much. Just to see the great Billie Holiday on film is a treat for me and all Billie fans. I just wish there was more film footage of her for us to see.
@@sryder8312the of jazz is the blues. The blues is from work songs and songs from honky tonks and saloons. It did come from west Africa because many aboriginals knew nothing about any parts of the continent of Africa at that particular time. Many so-called slaves were brought here from the Caribbeans South and Central America.
One of the problems is that the woman is interested and asks a question to gain knowledge of the music and the man almost answers, but then tells her that she's going home, the implication being that a woman must be drunk or otherwise unruly/out of her mind to want something as manly as information. Also the fact that jazz is something felt rather than what he says, but I always feel a pang of discomfort when he tells her that she's going home. Sadly still know a lot of men who are dismissive of, or intimidated by, intelligent and curious women!
Nathanael Sullivan Stupid moron, what does race have to do with it? He's a great clarinetist you're the only one taking race and being racist is YOU you dumbass

Billie Holiday was a beautiful woman, with a raw sweet voice., but sometimes haunting make you cry.
Yep - like Bird
"He started out with a violin, and the doggone thing just grew up on him."
The best line about music I think I've ever heard, comedic or not. 😂
(Also, I'm making my way there myself. I'm at the cello so far. 😂)
Sir Armstrong never gets credit for being; essentially, phenomenal; no one better!
Tornare ad ascoltarli si ringiovanisce sempre, sono immortali, naturalmente per chi ama il jazz e lo swnggg.

THAT MUSIC COMES FROM THE HEART MUTHA EFFER! Gosh how I hate that dude in the end
If i may just ask, what's wrong with the dialogue at the end?

Back then they had to introduce a white clarinet player to promote racial integration. The good old days.
Nathanael Sullivan Stupid moron, what does race have to do with it? He's a great clarinetist you're the only one taking race and being racist is YOU you dumbass
