Sadiq Khan has been re-elected mayor of London, winning a historic third term in a dramatic contest. Khan secured victory over the Conservative candidate, Susan Hall, on Saturday afternoon, with 43.8% of the vote. He took to the stage to give his victory speech after the result was announced. 'It's been a difficult few months. We faced a campaign of nonstop negativity,' Khan said. 'It's the honour of my life to serve the city that I love and I'm beyond humbled right now'
• This text was amended on 6 May 2024. Sadiq Khan won 43.8% of the vote, not 61.2% as an earlier version said.

@@TheJibbajabba12 Because I like living here, crime rate has decreased and is lower than most other U.K. cities, I love that I can get the bus for so cheap to work. For sure there’s issues, rent prices, housing prices, knife possession for young lads. All those things bother me but they’re not simple problems with simple solutions. Overall I like living here.
