Dear FRIENDS, I've always followed you, I'm in Italy and I live in an environment similar to yours. Congratulations on everything, you are a beautiful family. Wishing you all the best, a big hug. claudio mengoni
Great work! Just a quick note. According to the Building Code, two trimmers (each side) are required for the door opening to the sliding glass door, because of the large width. Imagine all of the dynamic force on the door from opening and closing, and then relying on one trimmer on each side to take up all of that slack. What if one of the trimmers cracked? By using two per side, one has a better margin of safety. Also each trimmer is carrying the exterior wall load and roof load. My personal taste (for any opening width 6 ft or greater) is to use a 4" x 6" or 6" x 6" trimmer (each side), depending on the stud wall type. Out at the Construction site, it was common practice for the Foreman to have the Carpenters put in say, 6" x 6" trimmers instead of the minimum two 2" x 6" trimmers (each side).
Have watched your build since the beginning! You are all a very hard working family! I appreciate all the great video’s including the mistakes… a lot of people show content that has no mistakes which isn’t honest. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
For easier wood hauling you need one of those garden wagons, but go ahead and get the solid tires. I tried the pneumatic and always had one flat when I needed it. Not that expensive. I got tired of getting a portable 12v pump out every time.
The Grand Room is coming up wonderfully and I know soon, it will all be done. You should know the cats only come when you call them IF you have food for them!!
Do you have a bench grinder? Saw blades that break at the mount point. I use the bench grinder and grind the shape for the mount. Works until the blade gets too short.
All the windows are moved and installed, until they're not...lol I'm pretty sure there'll be at least one more move. The porch is shedding the roof snow as planned, 8 feet, just like Martin wanted. Lol Love what you're doing ❤️
For the cold weather for chicken's you could take a piece of plywood and cover up the screen area up top. As well as adding a heating lamp when it gets low as like -11 degrees F.
Isn't the saying supposed to be "It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt."? I'll just have to watch the whole thing to see why you might have modified it. Love your uploads. Thanks again for sharing the journey.
That’s great that you build the patio hangover already, it’ll help you a lot when it snow , you don’t have to work harder, the living would be awesome when you finish the wall , I can’t wait to see it , happy newyear to you all
It’s funny you have to buy wood shavings and I have the opposite problem, I have a woodworking shop and I produce more wood shavings than I know what to do with and nobody wants them. I live to far to bring them to you. I enjoy your channel. Keep up the good work.
If you really want to be cheap with the Sawzall blades you can take the little piece that broke off at the end put it on the thicker part with the teeth trace it with a sharpie and then cut it out with a grinder and drill a hole in it done it before but a lot of times it's easier just to get a new blade
Love the videos! Been watching since y’all started building. You need to buy Julie a wheel barrel that has two wheels on the front end. She’s working hard bring the wood back to the house without turning over. Lol! By the way it’s January 2nd and 70 degrees in South Louisiana. Happy New Year✝️🎆🎉🎊🦐🦀🐊🦞⚜️
Hi Julie and Martin i love your video's 😉i wish you and your family a Happy New Year and the best wishes for 2023 kiss and greetings from the Netherlands Chiel
Great progress!! Your home is going to be amazing when it's finished. I love everything about your place except the snow. My arthritis would never allow me to live in Idaho. God bless...
Greetings and blessings and a Happy New Year to all of you! When it comes to choosing siding, have a look at EverLog’s products. Several styles they offer would look awesome on your home. Wishing you all the best from the New Forest, southern England.
Breaking saws all blades breaking more operate errors have used for tree pruning limbs and even roots besides reg construction and destruction yes I have broke some but usually when blade get bound up or too log and starts jamming into something this causes blade to flex and because the blade anchoring point not flex something has to give
It's nice, that You can easily change the plan on the go! 👍 That is better way for perfect house. Our code aren't allowing, even, removing or adding internal wall and in some instances, repainting facade without coordination and paper work too.. Even solid greenhouse needs building permits with plans.. 😂 Excellent video as always! Great to see progress..
For future consideration, look at where a pond, dip in the dirt, or ditch would be beneficial to store and pile some of that snow. Of course a year 'round pond without mosquitos and over flows would be great in concept. A slow, deep, and natural release of water would be great for trees, veggies, and the like; you wouldn't want to create a bed of super weeds though. Likewise, as cold as it is, snow is an excellent insulator. The ideal would preserve the ecosystem you have 'cause it is likely relying on the snow melt; as is your well. Yet with minimal work, passively put more water down into the ground against summer drought; or fill a space for some extra watering.
You may never get your drywall up if you don't quit changing your mind
This old Southern girl gets cold just watching this. You are a hearty family.
You could say you are in a staple relationship!!

Nice to see using most of bought and reinstalled item's the way to save some dollars
Work Smarter not Harder, when removing Insulation from wall where window is going, why not put it DIRECTLY in wall where it's needed ?
Glad that you are finished with the windows. Keep warm and enjoy what you do. Julie keep smiling.
I once stapled my fingers together when putting the safety catch on, I had to use pliers to pull it out.
Good Morning and Happy New Year from Whistler MS. 🎉
Nice to get all the windows moved and installed! Plumbing, electrical and then drywall and paint, won’t be long now!! ✌🏼❤️🙏🏼
Ouch! A staple in the finger would hurt!
Can’t wait to come and see the changes in person. Stay warm you two! ❤️
Congulations on the windows.
Happy new year to the family
Consider removing snow from the battery shed, it looks pretty thick.😃
I can't believe it, have you abandoned the love loft?💓💓💓
Happy New year! Believe it or not...This used to be a typical winter. Over the last two decades is has been mild.
Looking great!
You guys are really becomming experts at installing and uninstalling windows, good skills to have.
It’s all coming together nicely. All the changes look great, keep up the good work.
I am always saying, "Work is not getting done on the farm unless blood is drawn!"

The slush is horrible and then it freezes over! 😮
It’s all coming together. Happy 🎉 happy new year
Take a hacksaw and reform a new attachment point on the end of your sawsall blade when they break. I have done this many times.
Congratulations on continued superb teamwork!
Of all what was shown, I loved seeing the view of the cats eating. Happy New Year.
Really looking good!!
I always enjoy the sound of Jules laughing and Martins sound effects. Very fun couple!!! 💕💕💕
Nice job
Window's look wonderful! HAPPY NEW YEAR Y'ALL!
Oh no! New year blessings
Despite all the hard work and hardship involved, Jules seems to always have a nice smile. What a great attitude to have.

Thank you for sharing another great video. Jule’s laughter makes it more cheerful.
GOOD MORNING, GOD BLESS YOU & HAPPY NEW YEAR
Sangat tidak nyaman tinggal dirumah yg di kelilingi salju seperti itu Pak Martin, beruntung saya tinggal di Indonesia yg tdk ada salju...🙂🙏
Good going getting the windows and doors where you need them. Always easier to change things before you get too far along. 🤔😉💖
The Grand Room is coming up wonderfully and I know soon, it will all be done. You should know the cats only come when you call them IF you have food for them!!
Welcome back. Haven't seen you around all year long. 😉
Happy new year.
Hey there Wishing you all a Happy New Year 🎆.
Just a word up. The longer you wait to take the sticky film off the new windows. Some of the film will be permanently leave nasty residue.
When those blades broke on me I just cut out the same shape top with my grinder and put them back in and away you go little shorter but worked good

I think it’s safe to say that the cats love Julie! :) They follow her in all the more recent videos. Love it.
When will you finish building your home 🏡 and just enjoy your home 🏡 and family 👪.
Happy new year
Have a very Happy New Year.😁
Hi Martin and Jules! The house is really coming along and looking great! I'm excited for you! Keep on keepin' on!
Wow, we love watching your channel, getting great ideas from your experiences...but I am soooo happy not to have to deal with that cold or snow
Selamat tahun baru sekuarga semoga sehat2 selalu kalean
Marty what are you standing on the Sawzall, I've never broke a blade there. Weather it was Dewalt blades, Milwaukee blades, Lennox it don't matter.

I like your hammer stapler. Mine is a Bostich that is squeeze handle operated, I think mostly used for upholstery.

Lenox blades are the best. And they make a demo blade
Good morning you guys how you guys doing this morning hope you guys had a great Christmas so keep up the good work you guys Happy New Year
The suspense of the video title got me good every time Marty had his knife out.
Nice but the slider being 1 1/2 inch to big easy fix 2x4 work if it's true 1 1/2 inch. And woe lots of snow.
Hi Julie and Martin i love your video's 😉i wish you and your family a Happy New Year and the best wishes for 2023 kiss and greetings from the Netherlands Chiel
nice
that's a lot of snow; and yes I know it's very early in the season.
Wheres Sarah? We didn't see her home for Christmas!
Looking great. You need to check out Water Bearer by Sally Oldfield.
Hi guys miss you all
Great progress!! Your home is going to be amazing when it's finished. I love everything about your place except the snow. My arthritis would never allow me to live in Idaho. God bless...
Was the extension known/planned when the main house was built? a lot of windows door moving.
Will you have a wook cook stove in your kitchen? you are doing a beautiful job. Love Idaho!!!
