- Finally finished editing the video of Korra's first official new adventure for 2018, now its just Pabu and Roku to have theirs! **As explained in 24836498263597263412384601234 gazillion videos haha Roku, Korra and Pabu cannot always being taken out together due to them fighting for the sole attention and without fail resulting in all x3 being upset.
It takes very specific factors at the moment for all x3 to be out and have a good day. To guarantee a great day like Korra had today means taking them out one on one where they do not have to stress about competing for my attention**.
Hopefully both or all will come out this Saturday for a big parrot playdate! :D

Korra had a fantastic time, she flew about 3 massive flights out over the forest line (I think I only managed to capture one) and a fair few small ones.
She was panting a little but nothing drastic so I would say 2 weeks of flying and she will be good as rain. (actually hoping rain stops as we have severe weather warnings atm)
As you can see Bumi and Kevin came along to the play date with "Pheonix and friends" (facebook)

We picked a location near a creek with one of the birds most favourite trees! almost every parrot that comes out loves this tree, they spend hours just chewing and playing in the tree while we talk life and stuff our faces haha

Adventures of Roku is there anything that can be done about the fighting so they can go out together?
I think its really important to work out who's wants and needs are being put forth, I know for fact that its peoples wants and needs to see all my x3 out together and not the birds.
So if we look at it from that perspective its easier to work from, Roku is happier one on one because he does not fight for attention but desperately wants it. Pabu wants to be centre of attention and loves lots of excitement which does not go well with Roku or Korra who are more relaxed, Pabu also chucks tantrums and purposely lands on the birds to get them off me and or starts nipping me hard if I dont pay attention to him fully.
Korra is the worst, she wants my 100% undivided attention even if she's not on me, she does not bluff and is very alpha dominant (a GW trait) so will attack any bird that lands on me endangering other birds, if I redirect or ignore this behaviour while she is outdoors she will chuck a tantrum and fly off and or attack other birds that are near. Each of my x3 have needs, each are companion birds. Free flying is about understanding your birds, their needs and juggling dynamics with environment, wildlife, other birds attending and people.
If Roku, Pabu and Korra are happier, calmer, and having more fun on their one on one days (which is evident in their videos) then what need is there to take them out together when empirical evidence has shown that none of the x3 have a good time and constantly fight. I look at it like this, they all live together and are in each others faces all day everyday. The last thing they would want is to all be taken out together with dad when all they want is to have (like any companion parrot) dads undivided attention, and if x2 others are wanting same thing your in for a headache.
The only time I can take out all x3 (as explained in other videos) is when we have big get togethers as the numerous other macaws and birds + their owners serve as a distraction or the environment is one in which allows for them to be out together but not fight due to them being too involved in it ie White Rock.
Remember though even in these situations I can acknowledge yes its nice seeing them out all together though thats entirely my gratification, it wasn't their want and need to be out together because in reality if one or two were missing the remaining couldn't care less haha

This makes me so happy I could literally die. Free flying your birds is the most amazing thing I've ever seen. So many people clip them and they never know the feeling of flying and its so sad.

Birds are so smart and so attached and EXTREMELY LOVING to the people they get attached to. It's kinda like you become their soulmate. They are really good with directions and all that. I've rescued pigeons and released them all but one who absolutely refuses to leave so I kept him :)
Unbelievable ! Flying in the blue sky is everything for birds. They come back to you and prefer living with you in your house . This means a lot . They really love you .🙄❤️

As a vet I totally love to see this - free flight is the best way to ventilate those bird's lungs and to avoid fungal infections.
