Grew up listening to Pearl Jam and other bands and I randomly had this song stuck in my head yesterday. Told my dad who is a big rock fan 🤘🏼 and he told me to find a live version. Well, it did not disappoint!
They probably kicked it up about 10-15bpm for Eddie's benefit, but it still sounds great! And if it helps Eddie shred this song after almost 30 years... then they're allowed. Folks don't realize that vocals age too! Most singers couldn't nail this in their prime, let alone at 50... This was still a really tight performance!
just watched this song several times, w matt cameron and also with dave abruzezze. I gotta say it's a whole different song with DA. he really owns it. I love MC but sometimes there is a magic in a band mix. DA really made pearl jam, as much as anyone in the band. he was perfect.
It’s sad they didn’t include Dave in the rock and roll hall of fame induction. He was an integral part. Would love to be a fly on the wall for that discussion. Eddie seems pretty chill so I’m curious what all the drama was.

I had to laugh that if you change playback speed to 0.75x it’s closer to original tempo than 1x speed is
0.85x gets it pretty much spot on in my opinion
