WARNING! This video contains spoilers for Kiersten White’s horror novel Hide, originally published in 2022. This video is intended for those that have already read the book and are in need of a refresher, or haven't read it, but don't mind it being spoiled. You've been warned.
Fourteen contestants have been chosen to compete in an epic game of hide-and-seek. The winner of this game stands to win $50,000. Mack, whose family was brutally murdered by her father, is chosen to compete. She survived that horrible night by hiding, and she hasn’t stopped hiding since then. This is her chance to make enough money to disappear, to find some small amount of happiness, but this game is not what she thinks. This game will change her life in ways that she cannot imagine.

Great as always
I personally DNF this one as the very shallow MANY characters just lost it for me and couldn't care for it. Loved the video and appreciate the recap and love the scary and bloody meter. Would love to see a video on her newest book; Mister magic!
Just got the book to read! Will update comment when I've finished it.
So I finished the book, I thought it was really good! Felt like I was reading someones fleshed out idea they had in a daydream or a shower thought. Not very long, but doesnt take much to get into the meat of the story which makes up for that. I do wish there was a more complete ending or epilogue. I also felt like some hints were laid out for you to have a certain opinion or realization, but I was a bit off the mark.
SPOILERS AHEAD..............
I went back and reread some sections to find out what happened to the graffiti guy. I either completely forgot, or there isnt a definitive resolution for that particular character. Maybe its just assumed he got nabbed? Also, the plot point of the book seemed to have gone nowhere. I know Ava takes it from that deceased character, but it is mentioned many times that he had his own empty journal so it's kinda up in the air, unless I missed something there.
I'm going through your recaps of books I've read, and your videos are so well done!
If you are ever looking for book recommendations, FantasticLand by Mike Bockoven gave me everything I wanted in a horror novel set in an amusement park.
The beginning of the book was great then it drags
I feel like this book had such great potential but the execution was pretty poor but entertaining nonetheless.

I agree. Hide had a really great idea, but I felt it went on a little too long. Maybe a story such as this would have made a better short story. Thank you for the feedback. I hope to have more videos out soon.
