its a CRIME how this ended. I loved the characters so so so much and the pacing was AMAZING. I was gripped the entire time but the end felt rushed and bleak just for the sake of being bleak it was a real let down. I loved your take though! amazing pixel art too! Lovely stuff!
big fan of nick cutter and absolutely love your work, you found an awesome niche. I subscribed not realizing you were under 1k subs thats such a shock! cant wait to see your channel grow!
I listened to this on audio and thought it was a great listen. The more unsettling parts of sitting and listening were tense on audio. Maybe it wouldn’t have been in text.
after reading the deep, i went searching for content on it and this was the first video i found that piqued my interest. incredibly well done. i was absolutely floored when i saw how many subscribers you have; you deserve so much more. this is absolutely incredible. please keep uploading, i love your content.
Thank you! I really appreciate the feedback. I have more videos coming soon, but these style of videos take awhile to create. I'm getting faster, though, so hopefully you'll find more videos you enjoy soon.
I thought this one was a bit of a let down after The Troop, but I still enjoyed it. Cutter is great at scenes that stay with you not because they're scary, but because they're downright disturbing.
I was hoping to make it to Little heaven soon, but I didn't want to have too many Cutter videos at once. Have you read The Handyman Method, I think I need to check that one out too.
This book was good, but I was way more interested in the super alzheimers than the change into a Underwater/Event Horizon/The Thing and the... SPOILERS!!! Alien/dimensional beings just trolling around at the end was kinda poopy to me but other than that the book was interesting, engaging, and I'd recommend it for horror fans.
Yes! I completely agree with you. I was hooked in the beginning and I couldn't wait to find out more about the 'Gets, but that part of the story is cast away so quickly. The ending of this story just devolves into nonsense. Still, I enjoyed it overall.
Thanks for the vid! I would say "The Deep" is Nick Cutters weakest story and "The Troop" is his best. I'd like to see what you think of "Little Heaven" and "The Breach" as well.
Hey. Yeah, I actually have those on my list to read soon. For the most part, I've really enjoy Cutter's works, but I agree The Deep was pretty weak, though.
I had to stop listening to this book for a second upon my first read because he mixed up centipedes and millipedes and I got mad because Luke is a vet, he should know the damn difference Other than that, interesting book! Great video
You know what, I didn't even notice that. So true. Honestly, I'm not even sure what the purpose of making him a vet was, it didn't serve a story purpose at all, especially since they mentioned it so many times.
Thank you so much! I currently use Photoshop to make my pixel art. There are other great tools out there, I'm just comfortable with it. Thank you again for watching.
I completely agree. The ending of this book was really a let down. It didn't fit with the rest of the book at all. As far as "The Summer I Died," no I haven't read it. I will be sure to check it out, though. I'm always looking for recommendations, thank you.
this was a decent book that became a slog by having unecessary flashbacks and imaginary horror. sometimes it felt like there wasnt even an apocalypse happening on the surface because it mattered so little. the ending was so random too. it was alright but took a lot of willpower to get through
As much as I wanted this book to be a banger because of what other people told me, it's really was a very boring not scary book period. I don recommend it at all
I went into this book blind, so I didn't carry any preconceptions as I read it, but I can agree with you a little. I believe the premise of the book is alright, and I enjoyed the beginning, it's honestly the middle and the end where this book really falls apart for me. This book just feels like wasted potential.
I completely agree. I really thought there was strong potential for a creepy underwater story, it just fell apart. I haven't read Little Heaven yet, what are your thoughts on that one?
@@abitofhorror it’s my favorite Nick Cutter book, so far. It has some similar themes as The Deep, but reminds me more of Blood Meridian. Great character development, some really good action sequences, less body horror.

This video actually made me want to read the book. Spoilers are sometimes necessary to give readers that push to commit to a book. 👍
Cutter certainly didn't give the reader any hope during the novel

Thank you so much! These videos take some time to make, so I'm glad you noticed. We'll be at 1k subs before you know it.

i was so hopefull for the characters in this book, then i remembered its a Craig Davidson novel. Good work as usual
Thank you. I completely agree. I think it started well enough, just fell to pieces in the end.
Please keep making these!! Your channel will definitely grow if you keep it up!!! Hell ya.
Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I've got more on the way.

Hope you do little heaven someday, greats vids:)
I want to read that bad.
Loved this book!
Great video! Would love to see you tackle Little Heaven too.

@@abitofhorror I haven’t actually! But I might check it out. His books are good though I think The Troop is still my favorite of his.

Wow! I just discovered your channel today and you deserve WAY more subscribers than you have. Also, what do you use to make the pixel art?

I loved everything except the ending of this book, but it’s still a solid read! Have you ever read “The Summer I Died”?

Nice video, budy. It seems you like horror books. How 'bout we make a video about Blood Meridian?
Great recommendation. I actually have this book on the list to complete. I will get moving on it and hopefully you'll see it soon.
Cutter is the Canadian Stephen King
House of leaves next?
I'm actually in the process of reading this. It's huge though, so this may take some time.

I read Little Heaven and The Troop before this book and found this to be the weakest offering of the three. The ending was particularly weak, imo.
I completely agree. I really thought there was strong potential for a creepy underwater story, it just fell apart. I haven't read Little Heaven yet, what are your thoughts on that one?

The fate of the chocolate lab makes me not want to read the book. 🤬
