So this video is just a combination of 3 separate videos I made back in December of 2016. All I did was make a new intro/outro, edit the videos together in a way where I talk about the history of each spell in its timeline in wow together (eg, all the vanilla changes put back to back and so on), and re-wrote and recorded some new lines to make its flow a little better.
So I hope it doesn't seem like the video is jumping all over the place.

@@domdombjj it was useful to pull aggro off a healer. That was its purpose. It had a niche use, much like stoneskin totem.
I like how 3/4 of the action bars is full of earth shock

I’d kill if you could make a video about warlocks’ metamorphosis spell.
I remember leveling and going warlock as my main just because of that ability. It felt so insanely cool to suddenly turn into a demonic being and wreck havoc across the battlefields! Man, I miss it.

Although it was clunky, I do miss the Flame Shock/Lava Lash/Fire Nova combo, that hit like a TRUCK.
That combo was from Cataclysm, right?
As an enhancement Shaman, I miss the shocks :(

Make a collection about best vanilla corpse runs:
eg.
Alli goes to RFK/RFD but dies outside-->Run from Ratchet
Alli goes to SM and dies outside-->Run from Chillwind Camp
No GY for Horde at all in WPL unless you die inside Scholomance
Alli dying in Jintha'alor-->Run from Aeriae Peak
Die Anywhere inside the Blackrock Mountain-->Run from Thorium Point
Only night elves had the increased movement speed in ghost form...

I think it would have been nice to touch on Blizzard's toying with the idea of shamans tanking hence the reason earth shock and frost shock were given threat generation
Shamans were initially ear marked to tank. As a apples to apples with Paladins. Somewhere I have one the first if not the the first of the game guide for wow. Shamans were listed as a 3 role class in the book. Also Shamans were tanking instances in early vanilla as well. Its was a weird "learning period" lol
During Cata, I had the "Fuck You Belde" Spec. I was a Resto Shaman named Belde and I had to spec into interrupt. Hurt my Mana Regen and Healing. Halfus 10m Heroic was a pain to interrupt and heal. Also had to do it on Omnotron.
I just love these videos, One of the reasons when showing an ability: Most of the bars are let's say...Arcane blast. (Kappa)
I remember once when alterac valley was on call to arms I got my shaman fro 42 to almost cap because of one small oversight
Flame shock triggered an instant cast of Lava Burst which would also be able you double cast on crit, but since flame shock let it criticism every single time you would just rapidly cast it shooting like 7-8 full crit bursts every other second

The extra aggro on earth shock was because blizz intended that enhance shamans were going to be tanks. paladin - alliance only had dps,healer and tank. shamans - horde only was going to be the same for balance reasons
The thing was that they abandoned the idea,so they didnt follow through. But it was originally intended

Wind Shear + Frost Shock was OP. Being off GCD, you could write a macro which would cast Wind Shear and Frost Shock at exactly the same time. You could instantly interrupt and slow someone at the same time.
Few things in WoW will ever be more broken than kiting someone for more than 30 seconds with one keybind.

Can you do a video on boss fights that required weird tanking mechanics? E.g. twin emperors tanked by a warlock? 4 horsemen...etc.
My first time hitting max level was as an Enhance Shaman in Cata. I can attest to the AOE god status being true (not to mention the chainsaw flurry of melee hits I would do single-target)
Then I discovered that being a DPS with no friends meant hellish wait-times for pick-up groups...
so I learned to heal
at max level
as an enhancement main
with no gear.
Flame Shock is a Rogue's worst enemy with cloak down.
I remember at least 5 different shamans I rolled with over the years whose character names were all slightly different versions of "Frostshock"
it was changed to have increased aggro because at some point, enhancement was meant to be a tank spec

Shamans used to be so much fun to play, but then too many bubble-boy-alliance-whimps starting to cry so they nerfed the class down to the worst in the game
The shocks had high threat because Shaman were actually meant to be viable tanks in the same way Paladins and Druids were. It was like a soft taunt.
Even back in BC, Earth Shock was glorious.
I think that an interesting video subject would be covering the best or most interesting 2-3 item sets. There are lots in legion. but were lots throughout the game... I think.
There was a time when Spriests could just spam DP. It was front loaded with a lot of its dot up front and it was instant. U could hit anyone about thee times and then let the dot kill them. It was so Op but not well known it seemed. It was fun while it lasted in BGs

I must be senile because I don't remember Earth Shock having an interrupt, just the threat generation, dood. Which is weird because I saw Wind Shear as Shaman's first interrupt ability.
I love your vids and the content you choose to talk about. Little things like the brief history of mailboxes are so random but theyare wicked interesting. Only complaint i have about this vid is your (at one point) frequent use of the abbreviation DR. I am a total noob for not knowing what that is but nonetheless, I didnt and I had to stop the vid to google it (I know, God forbid), and some other viewers may be in the same boat. I just recommend skipping abbreviations at least when first introducing the words. :x

I think you forgot the 5th shock. The most hidden and deadly shock in WoW history. Bus Shock! Look it up. It's a thing.
Didnt a shaman use frost shock on vanilla rag, and actually dealt the killing blow with it? I remember that...

Good god earth shock was ridiculous in classic vanilla.
fire nova already existed in wrath but it worked differently, as it would only work if you had a fire totem active, and the damage would be done around the totem only so youd have to be repositioning your totem all the time so it also was kinda meh imo
Warriors could charge in combat, You switched to Berserker stance.
Frost shock is said to be very op, but out of that they were quite weak.

Well dunno about you but I was able to do a pretty sick AoE dmg in Cata with my Feral Druid with savage roar+berserk+swipe spam.

frost shock was so bad, as a mage you could sometimes beat a shaman but with shocks, purge, totems and an interrupt, oh also healing.. they used to hit hard as well with a double handed weapon... was horrible

druids can just shapeshift out of the slow mages could slow you infinitely with frostbolt and warriors had intercept have you forgotten about the in combat charge that warrriors had in berserker stance? and rogues would just stunlock you until death >.>

As someone, who stopped playing as elemental shaman at BC, these changes seem like utter bullshit. Also the PVP seems very slow compared to BC, it was easily possible to kill someone with 4 bolts, now according to the video, they deal just a little bit of damage.
Shammy tanks FTW, S tier, end game, gg ez, frost shock go burrrr, shield spec best talent, 'nuff said.
wing clip vanish intercept all things that can counter or equalize fight with frostshock because idk Hamstring wasn't a thing and neight was crippling poison concussive shot the people i played with on alliance didn't really bitch about frost shock because of the ability to catch and intitially slow the shaman was great and as long as you kept hamstring up other on grip totem shamans died like the rest
currently arms warriors are doing the most aoe damage imo

Its bullshit elemental has all the shocks now. Even resto has flame shock. Enhancement got stripped of all shocks. Elemental and resto even get lava burst. I miss my elementals too. I almost gave up shaman in Legion. Blizzard can't leave well enough alone. Strip, strip, strip.
