    Strangling Firevine is amazing on Keeper; the wilds it adds can allow you to grow in blighted lands, you always want to be hitting the threshold on it anyway, and the extra wilds fuel Sacrosanct Wilds. It's one of the first majors picked as Keeper for me, on par with Unrelenting Growth and Vigor, depending on board state. The first cast tends to do 6-8 damage, and subsequent casts can easily do 12-14 damage to buildings, which, only against England and maybe Habsburg, will fail to destroy everything in the land.

    Thanks Red, another great video!
    Again, agree with almost everything, but 2 of my comments yesterday feel validated here:
    -- I think Fire and Flood has very comparable P4P floor, average and ceiling against like half the cards in bottom C. Settle and Vanish are good examples. Both have their moments (Settle ceiling maybe slightly higher), but I cant agree they are more situationally powerful on average (again, P4P) than Fire and Flood.
    -- Interesting to see you fairly high on Utter, yet pretty low on Focus yesterday. Again, I think these are comparable, especially in how situational they are (both good in the same games). 1 energy lower and more elements matters, sure, but i think they are closer than your final list & comments suggest.
    Thanks again, looking forward to tomorrow!

      The difference between 4 and 5 energy is quite large for many spirits. I find Utter to be far more versatile than Focus which is why I rate it higher.

    It's interesting to hear the perspectives from which most spirits would be considering these cards. I main Intensify Memory so I have a very different calculus when it comes to ranking majors. For example, there aren't many majors I'd take over Bloodwrack Plague. It's cheap enough to start reclaim looping by T3 and it essentially solves (and within a few turns, wipes) an entire board. Unearth a Beast is also always a great value for Intensify, since my army of marked beasts can each hit for 3.

    • @sirhasslich536

      I might be misremembering the Memory faq, but p sure you aren't allowed to intensify beasts like that.

    Thanks for the Video and have a nice Christmas. Just a Question to the combination of Finder and Melt earth into quicksand. Are you allowed to do it? I mean, finder can not destroy invaders? We did this once, but I later read somewhere that it should not be possible.

    • @RedReVenge007
      @RedReVenge007  Год назад

      So Finder is allowed to destroy invaders, there's just a price to be paid. It's -1 energy and -1 presence.
      If Finder moves stuff into the Ocean, or moves stuff into a Melt Earth land, they'll have to pay the price once per action.

    Honestly into non England matchups I’ve found ravaged undergrowth to be a very strong card. It can cheaply solve 2-3 lands with the threshold and if another spirit is struggling more than the water/plant spirits with blight then it’s a great card for fixing up their board while potentially pushing one of the wilds to your board to keep it clean or solve the land it was pushed to. 3 damage often isn’t enough but for situations where there’s just explorer town lands everywhere like Prussia it’s a great card.
    Rest of the list seems reasonable. I will say I hate that cast down exists as one of my friends somehow always draws it and is obsessed with playing it with threshold every time he can.

    I tend to avoid "Draw of consuming void" because it makes games too easy... Any spirit can threshold it, so it's very consistent.
    If that's C tier, I can't wait to see what's towering above it

    • @sirhasslich536
      @sirhasslich536 Год назад

      My guess is, among other things, "stuff not costing 8 and/or not being slow" could play a big part in that.
      Also thresholding it comes with a steep permanent price as well as leaving you stripped of most or all your innates for the turn.
      I am yet to encounter a moment where I'd want to pick that one when seeing it, though it undeniably can be impactful.

      thats a very high cost slow major power.
      Not a lot of spirits can actually play it, its also not a hailmary card that can save u when u really really need it (not fast)

    Unlike the D tier powers, I generally don't think these should be buffed. They are a bit below the curve, but having a decent amount of the majors be a little weaker or harder to use adds something to the game.
    If 4 comes up you can typically find a way to do something good with them to win the game. The challenge in making them work as they are feels rewarding. I tend to enjoy games where I pull these more than if I just get an Vigor and just win no matter what else was going on.
    The Ds as they are don't feel satisfying enough when you get them to work, or too frustrating to make work.

    • @RedReVenge007

      I'd disagree as I find these cards to be almost always a miss. Alot of times, if I find 4 D tier cards, I just don't choose a major and keep my minors / uniques.

      @markmittelbach7975 Год назад

      @@RedReVenge007 I realize I might not have been clear. D tier I think needs a buff because if 4 come up I don't want to play any. If 4 c tier come up, I can find a way to make one work. If every major A tier strong, drawing wouldn't be as interesting.

  • @mitch8445

    I think Fragments of Yesteryear is so, so weak. 7 energy is just insane for a card that generates 0 fear. If you don't have the moon threshold it doesn't even solve a single land, because the most built up land will often have invader symbols. The only thing it has going for it is combo potential, but even then it's niche and weak.
    Manifest incarnation is cheaper, and unthresholded solves a city+town+explorer land while generating ~10 fear.

    • @peperoniebabie
      @peperoniebabie Год назад

      The key is that Sun threshold that lets you do it at fast. Sun thresholds are already important for majors and one would do well to draft Sun minors more aggressively if they know they're going to be slamming majors later; fast lets you turn off loss condition lands (for example HME, England double builds, Scotland cities) before invader step.

    • @RedReVenge007
      @RedReVenge007  Год назад

      Fragments can clear lands in the fast, so it can be used to prevent losses while Manifest is a card that just generates fear which isn’t needed in level 6 games.

    • @mitch8445
      @mitch8445 Год назад +1

      @@peperoniebabie In my 50 HME6 games, the loss condition has never been an issue. Scotland you can't use this on land 2 or you're just restoring the city that you're removing. England you're spending 7 energy to generate 0 fear, that's a guaranteed Independent Resolve. Even thresholded this card is terrible. What's a realistic use case for this? Which spirit are you picking this on, on what turn, and how are you paying for it and thresholding it while also taking care of all the other problems?

    • @mitch8445
      @mitch8445 Год назад +1

      @@RedReVenge007 It doesn't just generate fear, it also solves a land. And "fear isn't needed in level 6 games" is nonsense, any spirit that's drafting majors is going to want fear. I'm not saying Manifest is good, it's bad... but it's still better than Fragments.

    • @peperoniebabie
      @peperoniebabie Год назад +1

      @@mitch8445 Going to be honest here, I think if you've never had any problems with the loss condition playing HME SIX, you're missing some part of their kit. That just sounds absurd. You should reread the invader card and make sure you're not skipping part of it.
