  • Hello and welcome back to Euro Football Daily where today we are running through 10 examples of footballers who beat the odds to succeed.
From Santi Cazorla who nearly lost his leg to gangrene to Arjen Robben, Luke Shaw, Petr Cech and Eric Aibdal who were all nearly forced to retire due to injury. The biggest story is without doubt though that of Seb Haller who found out he had testicular cancer weeks after joining Borussia Dortmund last summer, who has now recovered to star for the German outfit.

I remember abidal. Him winning the CL was such a wholesome moment.
Also the class of Wenger to offer Cazorla an extension even when it was clear he wouldn't play is why I always believe there is only one Arsene Wenger

should have added kanu. he had a problem with his heart and had an artificial pump implant which he played with for most of his career. Edgar Davies with his eye problem and how he played with a eye glass would have been a good addition. maybe a pt 2?

Careful when you compare Eriksen to Nouri and Muamba then go on to say Eriksen still playing is testament to how strong he is. The other two aren’t weak for retiring
