NEW 2024 Walt Disney World Resort Refillable Mugs available at the Contemporary / Bay Lake, OKW DVC

In December 2023, we noticed the new mug pattern at 2 different resorts: the Contemporary and Old Key West. Lid/handle colors available are blue, orange, pink, and green and at the time of this video the price was $21.99 per mug and it's available for use during your entire stay for refills of soft drinks, tea, and coffee at the Walt Disney World Resorts.
You might recognize the pattern as it's a slight variation on the 50th anniversary mug pattern that was in circulation as recently as March 2023 before Disney switched to the purple 100 Years of Wonder mugs.
In this new version of the 50th mug they've obviously gotten rid of the big 5-0 and replaced it with fireworks. The original mug featured a vibrant turquoise background with all 4 theme parks and many of the same resorts on it now but had just Mickey and Minnie in a red convertible towing a camper that had a sign on it reading "Fort Wilderness or Bust!". The new mug design also includes a nod to All Star Sports.

It's definitely worth it if you want coffee each morning & also if you plan to spend any time at your resort pool or plan to eat at your hotel quick service.

Can you buy these in the parks or are the refill cups only available at resorts? Going for the day for the first time on March 13 and would like to purchase a couple for the day.

Hi - unfortunately the mugs only work at the resorts. The only Disney parks that have refill mugs in them are the Water Parks and that's the only place you can use mugs purchased from there. This is the one thing IMO that Universal Studios does better - they have park mugs where you can use them between the two parks for Coca-Cola product refills AND Icees which is a huge perk in the Florida heat!

Not even close to being worth it. You can't refill the mug in the parks, so there's no point. If you go to Disneyworld you wanna go and spend time in the parks and you're gonna need that drink. Yet another Disneyworld money making scam

I don't agree. We've gotten really good use out of the refillable resort mugs when staying for longer trips on Disney hotel property. It's easy to calculate cost/value ratio if you take the cost of a soda/coffee/tea by the number of those drinks you'll have at the hotel x the number of days you're staying. It is too bad the mugs don't work in the parks (but they to work at all Disney's hotels so if you visit other resorts then bring your mug and fill up there). Neither Universal nor Disney let's you use their hotel refillable mugs in their respective theme parks but Universal has Disney beat with their theme park refillable mug because Disney doesn't have them. It gets so hot in the summer and at Universal you can get an ice cold soda or slushy refill all day long in the park for around $20 (cheaper if you buy more than 1 mug). $20 might seem like a lot but one soda is $4+ and one slushy is $6+. Then you can bring the mug back the next day and pay one all-day reactivation price (around $13) right now. Universal also has so many drink stands available in their parks. It's one of the few things I think Universal does better than Disney.
