NIKE AIR ZOOM ALPHAFLY NEXT% 2 REVIEW | THE ‘FOREVER RUNNING SHOES’

Hey guys, welcome to my Nike Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT% 2 review!
It's been a weird and wonderful experience, running in the Nike Alphafly 2. The shoes are chunky and bouncy but light and utterly amazing; words don't come easy when you try to describe the sensation.
That said, I ended up talking about the shoes for nearly half an hour because there is just so much to unwrap here. Are they Nike Alphafly 2s worth the hype? Should you buy them (if you can)? What's good and not so good about the shoes? Find out all in this review!

\\what’s changed?
additional foam was added under the Zoom Air pods on the forefoot

Atomknit 2.0 upper: engineered for containment in the forefoot, breathability above the toes, and comfortable padding under the laces
\\fit
Step in comfort is okay; the new upper is tight and designed to hold your foot securely, not for plushness. You have to use the two tabs to get it on, but once you get the hang of it, putting the shoes on and taking them off is easy. The upper is tight but in a bad way. Despite synthetic upper, there is no sign of chafing or discomfort even in hot weather. The lack of tongue also reduces chafing under the lace cage.
\\midsole
Drop has increased, strangely, but the stack height hasn’t (it can’t, otherwise it’d be ‘illegal’ to use in races). Even more strangely, there is more foam under the air zoom units - how can the drop be higher!? The structure of the foam is similar and there is a lot of bounce, too. You’d think the ‘disjointed’ midsole will be felt under foot - it isn’t. The combination of ZoomX, Air Zoom units and carbon plate keeps giving back the energy.
\\toe spring
Similarly to other high-stack running shoes, toe spring is quite aggressive. The nose curls up to help the carbon plate do its job. The gait cycle is smooth and unbroken (unlike the Adios Pro 3).
\\flexibility
Carbon plate prevents the shoes from being too flexible.

unning experience
I call the Nike Alphafly 2 the ‘Forever Running Shoes’ as it feels like you can run in them forever. The legs simply don’t get tired, even after miles and miles of running. Admittedly, I haven’t done super long runs in the shoes (following my Garmin’s workout suggestions in anticipation for my 10K race) but the 10k+ runs were more than okay.
I can't get over the fact how chunky the shoes look and how lightweight they are. The shoes are heavier than the Vaporfly NEXT% 2s (228 g), the EDGE+ (231 g) and even the Adios Pro 3 (244 g), but the Alphafly 2 is just so much bigger than those. You can tell exactly where the carbon plate is as it’s completely exposed.
Thankfully, the foam was removed from the sections that don’t affect running mechanics. Extra foam under Air Zoom Units make the shoes roll smoother.

Thank for Nike for sending over the shoes for the review - I'm over. the moon that I could try them. Needless to say, the review is unbiased and I didn't say only nice things about the shoes just because they were sent to me.

One thing about the AF2 , is that my legs do not feel sore after the long runs

Yeah, it's more stable and there is more foam as well - great for the legs 🙌
