I completed my own first marathon this past summer, and am in the thick of training for my second at the moment. All I can say, is that I wouldn't be able to tell you, with full confidence, that running a marathon changed my life. However, I COULD tell you with full confidence that training for a marathon changed my life. It taught me so much about what my body can do, what I can do when I put my mind to it, and about what running means to me. The marathon itself was ultimately a celebration of that. I don't know where I'd be today if I hadn't started that first training block, and for that, I'm incredibly grateful to my past self. I can't wait to see where the second takes me. Nonetheless, congratulations and fantastic job on the video!
Congratulations Team Omnia! Was my first marathon & had the pleasure meeting Fergus at the end. Special day for me after losing 55kg over the past 7 years. Never thought I'd do an event that Fergus did & meet such an inspirational person
I hope you can imagine, how much you motivate me as a hobby hybrid athlete. I try to recover from a bad nervous disease and you are a role model for my journey into former health and fitness. I was in Special Forces in Germany for 15 years and no one could beat me while running or rucking. Thank you for your videos and the inspiring atmosphere. All the best for you.
Great to be part of the OMNIA weekend and to meet you Fergus. After a pretty rough 2023 where I ended the year in a bad place mentally and physically your videos were a key part of the spark that put me on the right track towards embracing training again and better decisions - culminating in signing up for the marathon. Top notch support and fun with you guys throughout - bring on 2025 :)
Needed this video, I’m running my first marathon on Sunday. Not sure if I’m ready to do sub 4, but I will finish it. Thank you very much for the video, have a great day!
Nice work brother! I am running a half-marathon with my youngest daughter in two weeks. Your content is inspirational! My half-marathon in two weeks will be the furthest run for me in 25 years. Keep making this content! Well done!
Solid effort and insights as always Fergus. Finished my first marathon on the weekend after being inspired by yourself at the start of the year. Was in a bit of a low spot and was inspired to start running (raw dog of course) and chase a goal that scared and excited me. Thanks for continuing to be an inspiration!
All the best with your training! Great to hear and hope that you’re in a better place mentally, there’s a lot more to what I’ve disclosed in this video at play at my end but I’ll break that down in due course, as I’m still navigating through it. All the best 🫡
I ran my first marathon earlier today and it is without a doubt the hardest thing I’ve ever done 😅. I hit the wall about 3/4 of the way through and was miserable for the last 1/4 of the race still finishing sub 4 hours
This is unbelievable timing. I too am running my first dedicated attempt at the marathon distance in two weeks. Same original goal of sub 3, however, I also sprained my ankle during a 100K ultra trail earlier this year. Similar build too being 94kg @ 190cm. Great stuff - keep it up!
Was great seeing you running this, and to be honest not a terrible feeling passing you going up that hill - it absolutely slaughtered me when I ran it in 2022
Thank you Fergus. I have my first running event on Sunday. And its also Marathon😂. Its like a gift that you upload this video 1 week before. That gives me a good feeling.

Was that dude at 5:34 ... juggling the whole marathon? If so, that's nut. Fergus! I just did my first IM70.3 and I did all with an AI built training plan. I want to tackle my first full IM so I might be contacting Omnia soon since I don't want to do it without coaching. Great job on the Marathon!
Absolute pleasure to be sharing the start line with you (and then you were off…) incredible effort also from the whole team to get this video together. Second to none in this space! Inspiring us all as always dear sir
Phidippides did not run that actual distance of 26.2 miles, the actual distance of the marathon was actually instated in a early 1900's marathon in England. Before that the marathon varied in distance alot, there was not an official distance before then but it usually was 25miles, phidippides was said to have run around 22, which was the distance between the battlefield and the city he ran to.
Well done fergus not easy dealing with an injury can really knock you back both physically and mentally. Great to see you back in it, well done 3:10 is a fantastic time
This was an amazing run - to have the strength to lift that rock and then follow it up with a full marathon (in just over 3 hrs) is something incredible! Would you ever be tempted to do a body building show? Getting stage lean isnt very optimal I know, but would be an interesting journey to watch for sure!
Thank you mate much appreciated! Honestly I’m just not interested (and I mean no offence to anyone that is), having focused on getting super lean twice before, it just didn’t give me the fulfilment/opportunity that training for utility does. Who knows, maybe that’ll change at some point but as it stands, how I look is always a by-product/in service of a performance goal 🫡
I has the same issue! Did my first ever race this year. The Robinhood half marathon. I did my Achilles. From skipping. Just decided to have a go at skipping. Hadn't done it for ages. Both my achilles felt sore afterwards and I planned to do a 10 mile run the next day and even though they were sore, I still went out and did it. Stupid me😅. So I had to have like a month off training. But I didn't stop straight away. I tried to ignore it, hoping it would go away and it didn't. Then when I could finally run. I wasn't able to try and do anything other than just get the distance done. By the the time I was able to put some speed in. There was a week left 🤷
Great video, some timely inspiration and wise words before the Rannoch Marathon. If you're back living in Scotland you're gonna need to learn to pronounce 'Loch' though 😀

Well done Fergus! Cracking performance given what you’ve been through. I’m also hit by the mighty hip bursitis but hope to get back into marathon running / triathlons early next year. Be great to hear what was your road to recovery? I’m mainly focused on swimming and strengthening the glutes atm. Cheers Jack
Thank you mate! Sorry to hear, my hip is still unresolved but is only affecting squatting rather than any endurance activity - best of luck with your recovery, hopefully we can get there!
