Hey man, great work on automating the solenoid using the relay. I was wondering, if it was possible to connect buttons to program the duration of the valve activation on the arduino onspot instead of having to connect to a laptop every time? Imagine, you need to activate the valve for a duration of 3 seconds about 10 times, with 10 seconds in between. And then after that, you wanna push a button and the duration changes from 3 to 6 seconds, and then it repeats the process for 10 times, with 10 seconds gap. What all extra equipment would i need for such a case?
Hi, thank you for the great tutorial. I'm building this same circuit to control a solenoid valve. I've seen that usually when using a solenoid valve, a snubber diode must be used between the 2 wires of the solenoid valve to protect against back emf. Do relay modules already have a diode built in?
Ya....If no power is supplied to the valve, it allows the air to flow through another port, when switch on, as the magnetic field generated to attract the plunger, it allows to flow the air through another port. So, it's not like that when it is turned off it will not withstand the pressure. ( but there may be a limit up to which the solenoid valve can withstand pressure ). clear ?
Bro i have type the coding that you have shown in your video but after verifying it showing "ERROR COMPLING FOR BOARD AURDINO UNO" why bro. But i have not conneted to aurdino board during Verifying
A 5v single channel relay. A solenoid valve of orifice size (1/4)" with AC 220 V 10 A coil and Arduino Uno. To connect it with a laptop you need the cable.

Thankyou brother. I guess you should put a diode.
Since, this is an AC Solenoid valve, I guess you don't need to put a diode. Even I tried the same without fly back diode and it works fine for me.

It's a 5/2 way solenoid valve.

No brother, it is moving due to generation of magnetic field and the sound is due to this only.

5V relay is enough. Relay is just a switch.A 5V relay can operate a solenoid valve of 24V DC and can draw upto 10 Amps.

You should execute the code when Arduino is connected to your pc. And check the code properly is there any mistakes.
