Man I really appreciate your awesome video the best channel I’ve seen so far, I’m a pilot with 1700hrs and I still learn from your videos, many thanks 🙏
Hours in the air dont really matter unless you under 100hrs. Think about driving, a driver with 7 years on the road doesnt really have much more of a chance of wrecking than someone thats been driving 20years. The biggest factor is chance. Also I've noticed that most of the ones with years in the air get complacent or cocky and take chances that most novice fliers wouldn't. Whenever you hear about a crash its almost never someone that was just learning or new to the air, its almost always a pilot with years of experience you see went down on the news.
took flying 30 plus years ago( you know , before technology happened ) and ran out of $ just after dual CC . anyways , i always figured I get back some day . This inter-web thing 🙂and of course YT etc , make learning and understanding all this soooooooo much easier , and at my finger tips to watch as many times as I need . I can't imagine how different life might have been , if this all existed back then . Your video just helped me understand a lot of the glass world , that is today . Thanks kindly , and certainly nothing but " Likes " for as much of this as you care to put out / and yes , I'll have to take a better look at your teachings . Bob from Calgary
This video is BY FAR the best turorial on the tube. The insets really show us what you are talking about and how it affects the aricraft. GREAT job and thanks! !! !!!
nothing short of amazing presentation. all of your videos are incredibly well done...I can only try to imagine how much effort goes into making these. It is so well presented , clear and concise..it blows my mind. thank you so much for making these available to us aspiring pilots.
I watch a lot of videos, but almost never comment. But videos from FlightInsight are awesome and as many have commented, the presentation is amazing. I have watched a lot of G1000 videos, this is by far the best. I hope you will cover more of G1000. Navigation hopefully as it is complicated. Happy Holidays!
Got my first flying gig!! CFI for a university. I trained fully steam gauge, so I have to brush up on G1000 as well as autopilot stuff. Thanks for the great video, definitely bookmarking to come back to later, and to show students!
thank you for the video. I recommend using the chapters feature for your video. That way we could go back to sections we need to review. ie "baro knob or standby instruments"
This video is awesome. Flight schools charge more for a G1000 Aircraft. I bit the bullet and got checked out in a G1000 and was well worth it. The Microsoft Flight simulator X also helped me learn the G1000 as well as the Red Bird simulator.
Thanks for the beautiful and educational video. I'm flying the cessna 172 (glass cockpit) on the Xbox series X using the VelocityOne Yoke. I wonder where I can see the rudder trim in the cockpit. I did set it up on my VelocityOne Yoke, but I don't see it in the cockpit. Can you help me?
Although this video makes use of a simulator screen (I'm guessing its Microsoft Flight Simulator), be aware that the MSFS garmin G1000 is missing a lot of screens and also does not simulate the cursor (a mouse pointer moved around by a control knob which is pushed in four directions and pushed in to click like a mouse) functions of the G1000 and that makes doing things like "finding a VOR on the map and tuning to it" really unintuitive in MSFS.
For the life of me, I don't see the "green triangle in the center" you reference when describing the aircraft attitude indication. I see a green circle, but not a triangle. I'm not being picky; I'm just confused and need to understand. Help.
The more electronics you use the more of a chance the greater chance of one or more instrument's giving you bad readings or failing altogether and almost no one has the skill to "dead stick" it if they have to.
Uhhhh... You kind of can't legally be a pilot for very long without knowing how to fly a plane without GPS. And you kind of legally can't be a pilot for very long without knowing how to fly using instruments either. No idea what you're talking about, planes have had computer tech since the late 1970's that I know of lol
A single circuit fails and you loose your whole instrument panel instead of just one gauge. It would suck for someone that trained on something like this and never learned to navigate by eyeballing landmarks or to estimate youre airspeed without a gauge telling you whats up. Learn the basice and dont be stuck relying on a computer that could shit the bed while youre in the air.
It wouldn't suck for long. You'd either learn in a hurry or crash the frame. Not sure why everyone thinks there are just a bunch of people flying around that only know how to fly with a Garmin setup because most GA aircraft don't have this stuff anyway unless it's some rich Grandpa's hangar queen.
There's No Auto Pilot, Like Microsoft Flight Simulator. You Have to Fly the Aeroplane Yourself. With the advent of Digital Flight DISPLAYS. There's No Need for Two Crew (Pilot and Navigator). The G1000 - Aids the Pilot with Navigation. Navigation is Done using Inertial Guidance (Plane has a Rough Idea of Direction (Compass) and Distance (Speed/Time)) or Using VOR's. You Can Do this in Microsoft Simulator. Caution: Microsoft Flight Simulator is Similar but Different. So You have To Learn Two. Like How a Manual (Clutch car) is Similar but Different to An Automatic Transmission Vehicle.

@@ianwilkinson5069 Congratulations, you totally missed the point of his comment.
@@ianwilkinson5069 I guess airlines should stop recruiting experienced pilots then…

Love how you explain and how you animate your training videos! Hope you cover the complete G1000, but almost anything you put out is great! Thanks ❤️

Nice video series. By far the best training info and format that I have seen! Keep up the great work.
Thanks!
just found this channel, and this is by far the best channel I have seen so far for that kind of content!!!
Please don’t stop training pilots to be better. I speak for every viewer here that your hard work is astronomically appreciated.

I learned more in 10 minutes of your video than I did in 10 hours of others
Excellent video, demonstration, and explanations!
Thank you so much for making these videos! And also for flying over my home of Portland rather than New England this time.

Congrats! It's a great job. Crazy, but fun.
Great lesson for someone new to Garmin. Thank you.
What a great presentation, as usual you make knowledge easy to digest, i should wish you a very happy and safe Xmas, all the best.
Flying around my neck of the woods, very cool! Cheers from KVUO
Honestly a great video. I have over 3 hours of flight time in MFS2020 and even I learned a crap ton from this. Thank you!
wow, a whole 3 hrs in ms flight sim and even you, an experienced pilot, learned a crap ton?! hahaha
I like your channel so much, you keep complex things simple
This is great. Hope to see a video on the MFD and G1000 autopilot soon!
Really helpful video, "simplifying" the G1000 in a way that's easy to grasp, even for this "Rusty Pilot" taking to the skies again after 30 years.
Welcome back sir. Much has changed in the panels in a good way.
Excellent....you do great work

You it everything I needed a refresh on, thanks!!
Great explanation, very good tutorials,Congrats

My school charges 180 for traditional panel and 190 for G-1000.
Whomever wrote the software code for the G 1000 deserves the Medal of Honor.
Even prices at 30k it’s worth every nickel.
Excellent Video. Thanks again.
Lovely video to watch! thanks for the amazing content! 😃
Really excellent. Thank you!
Awesome video!
I have been trying to set up the extended runway centerlines and am having a difficult time tracking down how
I love you guys.
Great video
Y brother , thanks so much.
What system are you using to simulate the G1000?. I would like to add that to my training. Thank you
is there a way to put a g1000 system into any plane I want to fly in Microsoft flight sim so I can practice this?
The plane has to have it enabled in the model. There's some models with it available but it has to be added by the person/team who coded the plane.
bank angle is not 10 for every marker... it's 10, 20, 30, 45 and 60 degrees.
So ten degrees except for the splits between 40 and 60
Can you do a similar video for the Garmin 500?
This is great. Are there follow up vids for the g1000 MFD and flight-director/autopilot interface?
Plenty more coming each Tuesday and Friday! Also check the G1000 playlist on this channel.
Anyone know why there are 8 unavailable videos hidden in the G1000 playlist?
What simulator is this? so realistic

How do you display the ground speed in the PFD?
I still prefer the analog steam gauges. I do like the Garmin G3X Touch glass PFD / MFD.
Did you say 1 or 2 thousand feet per minute on VSI? Isn't it in hundreds?
NXI is a better version right?
Yes

Hi, I can’t select helipad on garmin G1000, how can I do that ?
You can have a digital standby, it is not required to be analog.

It’s the inverted “V” in the very center and it’s more yellow-green.

Aviate, Navigate & Commutate..... Aviate is the fun part. The other B.S is just the part that costs $$$$$$$$.
