- In this video we take a look at some of the configuration items within the Android Winlink client WoAD, that can be challenging for new users when setting up a Mobilinkd TNC3.
Much of the material covered here will be applicable to users of the new TNC4 or previous versions - TNC1, TNC2.
The example in the video uses a Yaesu FT-70D radio. Again, much of this information is applicable to other radios. You may have to select different options in the Mobilinkd app (Audio Output Section) as well as in the Session configuration for Device Manufacturer.

This was the most complete tutorial I've seen on the Mobilinkd. Answered questions I didn't even know I had. TNC4 user.
That is great to hear! I am glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching and for the feedback!
Best instructional video on WoAD that I've found. Thanks very much!
That is very kind, Dave! I am glad it is useful! Thanks for watching and for reaching out!
I happen to be in the market for this exact thing. I carry my ft70 everywhere and every day the tnc4 is exactly what I need . Thanks for the setup instructions
Awesome, glad to hear it is helpful! Thanks for watching and for the feedback!
I like the idea of cross band operation to get more power for a winlink connection. Thank you for sharing.
Many mobile radios have cross band capabilities. It can be a handy use case. Thanks for watching and commenting!
OMG! You helped me so much. Mobilinkd TNC4 w/Kenwood TMV71A and Samsung tablet. Finally got it to work! Thank you!
Fantastic! I am glad to hear the video helped! Thanks for sharing your success! 73!
Bravo! Excellent video , this was exactly what I needed!
Hey great to hear! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
Great walk-thru and I like the tip at the end!
Hey Thanks Mike, much appreciated!
Very cool tutorial. Thanks for sharing this!
Hey Dennis! Thanks for watching and commenting! Great job on CaHR this morning BTW!
I made to the end cuz I’m Relentless, lol. Nice clip-button hole tip. Overall, great video. It’s good to get a refresher every once and a while. Thanks! Keep ‘‘em coming! 73 de Bill
Ha! You are a beast! Thanks for watching Bill and thanks for the encouragement! 73 my friend!
I like the setup. I have the TNC 4 but most of the stations close to me are long way off for an HT. Thanks for the video!
Yea, I think that is pretty common. That is my scenario too at the QTH. The HT works pretty well on the road though. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Can you reverse the ends of the FT 70 D cable as in you have the right angle adapter going directly to the Mobilinkd And the straight connector into the radio. can they simply be reversed with right angle into radio?
Yes, you can run it either way. Thanks for watching and for commenting!
Thanks for the refresher! I am curious if you or anyone else has figured out a way to use woAD (or anything else) to do regular OLD Pcket (uproot mode or direct connection)? Thanks in advance! 73
Hi Donald, thanks for watching and commenting! On Android, I have not. However, if you Google QtTermTCP, you will find an Android version of BPQTermTCP. The problem is, you have to side load the app. It is not available via GooglePlay so it requires a bit more work.
Thank you, I will give it a try!@@digital.rancher
The music soundtrack may have been useful in the introduction, but was distracting for the rest of the video. It's hard to hear your instructions.
Thanks for the feedback Matt. Thank you for watching and commenting! 73
You said woad....
It's like saying sausage 🤣
