The size of those rods!!!!!!
stock Chevy 350
@CIA LOL I love when that happens hahahahah. So good when you come across an old cringey comment 😂😂
This is some serious teamwork. These are guys are pros and have spent a lot of time spent working together and it shows. Very impressive.
I like the way the driver repacks his own 'chute. Just like skydiving, it's your ass on the line so you pack your own 'chute!
Very impressive how these people work as a team. You can tell they've been working together a while and know their stuff because in 10 minutes of pretty frantic work they barely utter a word to each other.
these guys work together like a well oiled machine.
I could strip one of those, probably take a week. Couldn't guarantee all the nuts and bolts would be there to put back but I'd give it a go.
Neil Petersen lol
Neil Petersen they are engineered to be worked on!! Any one can be taught how to do it! You would be surprised at how little knowledge crew members have on cars
I read the title and it said "funny", so as I was watching I was laughing because it looked funny, and I was waiting for the funny part too, until I realized it a funny car lol wtf 0_o
and capps isn't a verb nor misspelled.
Bottom end just gets step on an kick thanks man
this looks more fun than driving the monster itself
Ya. We is drag race mechanics and we rebuild the same motor a couple times a day...except for good days..we might get to do it 3 maybe 4 times...its really really easy after you do it a few hundred times..lol...plenty talented crew, tearing one down that fast....getting it back together just as fast with no mistakes takes almost god like level of skills
The clutch plates actually generate plenty enough heat that bout 90% of the times the plates weld together
I feel guilty looking at the clutch
the most abused component of the Top Fuel.
well oiled machine.... respect!!!
All this for 1000 feet and 4 seconds on the race track ...
Yes because if they were to go 2 drags without cleaning and rebuilding with 10k hp youd blow up
In about a week I will upload the second part the rebuild. Sorry I have not put it up as when I was there batt died.
+Vance Romance whos batt
Probably Mike Batt, lead singer of the Wombles
Damn those rods are massive.
What a pleasant Sunday lunch. Pneumatic tools complimenting your oysters
Clutch hits the workbench in two minutes. Ah-maze-ing!
From the time they dump tha laundry on a pass, get it back on race-jacks,tear down,rebuild,re-tune,pack chutes, bust off & warm up,get dressed & back to lanes.....75 mins...!!! Drop ur ride off at a shop on Mon morn for an overhaul & start markin days on calender till they call for pick up. Ha!
Then boys are pretty good at what they do! Prob one of the best crews out there if not the best
The real "Napa know how"
probably some serious torque
why do they keep moving that long tube around on the different head studs at different times while they are working on short block?
It's to hold the sleeves in as they pull out the Pistons. I believe. The sleeves can be changed. I think one does get changed out.
+Vance Romance ok ok makes sense
Them boys got it DOWN son. Damn. I never have seen this side of it for some reason (although I will from now on)
ya and what's cool you get to see this all on a general admission pass.
Really!? Very cool. I really need to go to a major event. Went a few times (like 8yrs old) to the local track and at the time....blew my mind. Being in engineering as an adult...i cant imagine the mind blowage it would be. Thanks for the heads up.

The pressure must be intense with everyone watching, the crowd noise and your particular job at hand which has to be done right every time. Wow...
great. team work. boy's ?
Man I would love to do that for a living
i think i would say this is a 'service', not a rebuild. chassis looks fine
Those con rods are beefy as fuck
Symphonic!
Are these things a dry sump and if yes (or no), do they change out the oil after every pass?
the pan is full of oil. They add new oil after the rebuild. the big round can on the back of the car is to catch any oil that gets blown out of the engine if a piston fails. Sort of like a big pcv system.
Vance Romance cheers mate
Yes and yes.
ha the pressure plate is still smoking hot !!
Good grief look how thick them piston rods are lol.
I wanna be part of the crew
I have a diecast model of the same car.
Y'all hear them monsters firing up in the background
And it takes me a month just to do a proper head job ^.^
sir in Kent baby
Não pode soprar poeira perto de montagem de motor, kkkkkkk
Did you find something? No. So why torn down? Because of paranoia.
Igor Siniak because these engines make about 10,000 horsepower and if you don't rebuild them after every race , the engine will most likely blow up
I know, just wondering where they put all used parts?
Igor Siniak most of them are either refurbedished or discarded
I always replace every race
Eli Wooley the engine is already blown up by the end of each pass, the motors start to miss fire at the end of the run the motor is pretty much blown up at the end bc of the power and nitro methane
Where's the funny part?
i really think its a gross waste of money. Why cant they run or be made to run a engine that will do a meeting ?
Because they'd always lose against the guys that do rebuild after every run? There are indeed classes of racing where they don't need to rebuild but they are much slower.
Rims are so tiny
Check out this drag car crash:

What is funny on that?
Not funny at all😂 just kidding

Whenever anyone askes what a Trump presidency would be like, tell em to watch this. This is what Trumps management team would be like when His Highness decides on a new 1-200m project. All cylinders to get it done. When you have honour you do everything like its the army. Just to see mom smile :-)
this comment has sure aged well
Aw shit man, I could do that myself, might take me three weeks but still. Lol
