Huge Cleaning Day in the Fish Room

In today’s video we are going from tank to tank to see which tanks need cleaned. Most of the tanks needed a nice glass cleaning and other tanks need a little more elbow grease. We also focus heavy on the saltwater tank because of the massive algae problem in the tank. So come along as we clean the fish room.

Do you have a clean up crew of any kind in the saltwater tank? I'd recommend getting a bunch of Astraea Turbo Snails and Nassarius Snails as well has a bunch of Blue Leg and Red Leg Hermit Crabs. The Nassarius will bury in the sand to keep it turned over. You could even get a Tuxedo Urchin.

Hair algae is caused by too much light. Reduce the length of time your lights are on by an hour or two.

I don't think you can reduce the power of those lights so increase the height if you can. Add floating plants to defuse the light is another option.
