- In this tutorial I break down the various sections for the classic Aussie tune 'Khe Sanh' by Cold Chisel.
Recorded in 1978, this track - and Cold Chisel themselves - are iconic to Australian culture, and you'll undoubtedly have this track requested if you ever find yourself onstage at an Aussie pub

No shit man, this is my favourite RUclips channel.
G'day Damo, thanks for sharing. Im studying Diploma Music Performance Southbank TAFE. A lot of this is covered in the course.
Thanks for the reply!
I’m curious… What specifically is covered at TAFE? Are you referring to the notation reading, or do you actually have to learn this song as part of the course?
@@Damo_Drummer G'day Damo, yes we learn notation. We are also incorporating technology into a live performance. Your video on IEM's were very useful.
As a keyboard player, I have performed this song many times, and took special care to learn don walkers piano style.
I have never however, played with a drummer who could recreate that feel, as well as I just saw in this video. If only.
Thanks for the kind words!
Great video mate, best drum walk-through video ever! Where can I find some more?
Thanks for the kind words. Truth be told, I just need to find time to make some more. Is there any content in particular youd like to know more about?
Awesome up load mate. Played this tune a few times here in the Kalgoorlie pubs over the years...What are the circle markings on your drum mat made from?
Thanks for the comment!
Those rings you see were actually part of a velcro pack that you used to be able to buy in music stores. The idea was that you use them for marking out where your stand legs go.
As far as I understand, the product isnt available anymore - which is a real shame, as its one of the best time-saving investments I've ever purchased, and there's a ton of value in knowing what sort of footprint your drumset is going to occupy BEFORE setting it up on a stage.
@@Damo_Drummer Cheers mate.. I was hoping that they would be still available. They look like a great product..I have just used a black marker on a cream coloured mat.. Not very attractive to the eye...Hahahahaha
@@BuzzieBee77 Mate... Fancy meeting you here!
